Don’t all Cricut machines have to be connected to the internet to work? That is a HUGE drawback if you are ever in an area with sketchy internet (or busy internet). Why does nobody ever talk about this?
Would you do an updated video comparing the Joy Xtra with the Portrait 4, including some comments about the software for each? This video was great - it is exactly what I wanted to see! TFS. ❤
1000 percent want this very same video. I want to see a comparison between the portrait 4 and Joy Xtra . Looking at the software and feature sets. There is no video I can find on the topic.
Dont forget that Portrait 3 has a pixscan Mat so you can stamp an image and have your machine cut around it. I personally prefer the portrait and sold my joy. I love all thr silhouette can do.
This video is SO helpful, thank you very much! I'm totally new to this, thought I'd get a Joy; but I thought I'd better make sure it was going to work for my needs/wants, and now I'm so glad that I didn't just blindly order a Joy! I'm sure it's a great little machine, but the Sillouette is what I need/want. You helped me tremendously, so thank you very much!!
Hey! Thank you for making such an informative video. Just one question: I want to cut really small font vinyl stickers, some machines aren’t capable of cutting small sized vinyl with perfect detailing. So if you have used both, which one is better for that? Thanks in advance
My 15 year old daughter mentioned she wants a Circuit machine to make stickers. While researching I came across Silhouette. She's constantly drawing in her sketchpads & wants to turn some of her designs into stickers, possibly t-shirts. Would you say the Silhouette Portrait would be a good entry level machine to do this? She has an iPad, does that work with the Portrait? After watching your video I feel the Portrait might be the better option. Being brand new to this arena, it's kind of confusing learning & comparing everything. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Hi Johnna! I would recommend the Silhouette Studio because eventually she may want to create her own designs and the Business Edition of Silhouette Studio has more growth for her! - Dawn
Just got myself a Joy all the way from the USA to India, havent even got the machine yet from the person who got it and now after watching this video i am having mixed feelings....dont want to regret it as it was an impulse purchase, hope i can create enough to recover the cost of my machine :/
Hi there! You can use either the Cricut App or the Silhouette Go App with your Android! It's up to you which design program you prefer based on your crafting needs - Dawn 🙂
But the phone app can you design on that??? I have tried and i couldn't figure it out and i asked and was told that you have to design on the computer then you can use the app on your phone to just run the job. Is this not true????
Great info! I saw Chrystal cutting with the Joy machine and she said it cuts small delicate designs very well. How does the Portrait compare with intricate designs?

Thank you so much Wendy!
I already bought a Joy. Should've watched this before purchasing!
You will love your joy I am sure!
I came in thinking I wanted a Cricut Joy, and ended up knowing I’m getting a Silhouette Portrait.
Same here
I think I would pick the Cameo Portrait 3. You can use any brand of vinyl or HTV. Thank you for the comparison.
You're welcome! ☺

1 year later and the introduction of the Portrait 4 I got my portrait 3 for $109.99

Exactly what I needed. Thanks.
The silhouette portrait 3 software is wonderful but the quality of the machine is ok. But it service its purpose. Great review.
Thanks for watching!
The Cricut Joy was a waste of money for me, the portrait cuts better and you can do a lot more with it.
Great to know!
Which is best to use with Android phone..TIA

I just bought the Cricut Joy Xtra with the great sale I was waiting for….
But now I want to return it 😂
Thank you for this showcase comparison!🙏💕
There is no comparison, don’t waste your money on a cricut joy.
We appreciate your feedback!
Hi! Thank you for making this video. I was wondering which machine is louder? How does the portrait comparer to the cameo in noise?
Hi there! The noise depends on the project but they are both similar in volume! - Dawn 🙂
I thought the silloutte go was only if you had already designed something and you just want to cut it out????
No, you can definitely design in Silhouette software!

The machines are similar! - Brittany
Upcoming holiday season???
🤣🤣🤣
Our apologies for any confusion, our videos are often shot in advance. This was likely before November/December time frame.
@@DesignBundles For a second or two, I felt like I was in a time warp 😎. It's okay; I figured this was the likely explanation.
Can it cut sticker longer than a4 paper length..example like 5 feet long sticker
Hi Zack! If you were looking to create a large project like that, it would need to be broken into sections and then placed together - Dawn
Good info
Thank you for watching!
I have both lol
And joanns have a silhouette portrait 3 on sale
