  • CALICO MACRAME | 4 Basic Macrame Knots With Fabric | Beginner Macrame Tutorial | Didsbury Art Studio
Hello everyone! 🙂I keep wanting to use calico fabric at the minute as I think I like the neutral vibe...also liking the firmness/thickness of the fabric to construct with. So I thought I'd do 4 macrame knots with strips of calico and see what the outcome brings me. I love it! check it out and let me know your thoughts....
🔵Just to say in the video I mentioned cutting up 24 lengths of calico you will actually need 12..

After doing my Textiles degree I did my PGCE teacher training at Goldsmiths, University of London to become an Art and Design Secondary School Teacher. Currently, I work in a hospital teaching art part-time to mainly 16 -18 year olds. In addition, I teach art in my studio on Saturdays and I give textile workshops to schools. I set up this channel in April 2020 after being furloughed during lockdown but soon realised I really enjoyed designing, creating projects, filming and editing my videos....so if you'd like to support me please subscribe! I would love to spend more time making extra videos every week 😍

Really? I want to say "Why?" I can't see the point and it looks a mess. Perhaps if it was done in braid or ribbon without all the jagged edges it might look better, but I still can't see it. Sorry

      Hi Ann
Not to worry we are all different! it's just one way of building up a surface, potential to dye the fabric and layer up. In my head I sort of see it being used in a nautical theme such as fishing nets inspired, ropes or something! I could imagine the knots all different scales and using different materials.
