  • Overlanding BOTSWANA Wild encounters in the Nxai Pans National Park & the Tuli Wilderness Reserve. This is an Adventure you have to do.
    Botswana is adventure, for any overlanding enthusiast, and one place I find myself coming back to over and over again, is the Nxai Pans area, where we explore the South Camp area, and the spiritual place that is Baines Baobabs.
    Overlanding in Botswana, and adventure traveling in the month of February to the Nxai Pan area is HOT, and I can't emphasis enough, that, this area is the furnace of Botswana, on account of the white reflective ancient Makgadikgadi lake bed sands. But, ol Ed and I pack up and make this 18 day adventure one to remember.
    We visit, South Camp, Nxai Pans and make camp at campsite number 8, we make a stop at campsite number 2 at the infamous Baines Baobabs, and finally, we make it to the Mohave campsite in the Tuli Wilderness Reserve, Botswana's best kept secret.
    What an offroad adventure expedition, and a big shout out to the @EpicAfrica and both Stewart and Julie from the Tuli wilderness Reserve.
    This adventure supported by Lacie, Indeflate, and Cross Country Insurance from the financial consultants Netsure.
    Thank you to:
    My mate Ed for helping out with shots and filming. What a trip legend.

    Beautiful. Makes us want to see more of Botswana. Great sightings, but brown hyena, wow. I get a little lift when I see my name at the end. Makes us fel part of things. You, Ed, Chris and Bruce have inspired us to get back to Africa after a 4 year absence. You said the lithium battery wasn't working well in the heat, well as a Canadian, I can tell you, they don't work well in extreme cold either.

    • @4x4ventures_southafrica
      @4x4ventures_southafrica  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Doug, thank you mate. I really appreciate your comment. And yes, wish we could do more for you than just a name at the end. We will get there legend. Yes, lithium . . . a bit of a revolutionary conundrum that I’m sure will advance. I saw somewhere that sodium-ion batteries have made a revolutionary turn, with future forecasts looking good. Maybe better things to come.
      I’m not unhappy with lithium, my end result was to purchase another 108 amp/hr, and this seems to be the solve between a balanced useage and charging state for my useage. Magic

      Thanks mate. If you are worried about the wetness on the pans, then remember that March is a month advised not to be in the pans. I think we were lucky as water was supposed to be on the Nxai Pans. Have a good one legend

    Sorry what was the name of the river to do with elephants ..I’m curious tlou is the usual word for elephant but Tswana does have different pronunciation so I’m wondering if it’s a different one that I’m ignorant in

      @@4x4ventures_southafrica I grew up in Botswana and I love watching you go there .. I asked some friends about the name and I found out some interesting stuff I would like to share ( they know a lot about history etc lol) Matlolo-a-tsie (Crossing of Locust) evolved into Motloutse over time.. I wasn’t trying to correct you but I love discovering new stuff and originally I got the name wrong hence why I asked
      Curious if anyone knows of when it changed if it actually did …. Maybe my friends have it wrong … I love a mystery
