Years ago, I delivered a Jonserred chain saw mill in the middle of a guys property. First thing he did was mill locust posts for a shed to cover his mill and then he proceeded to mill the wood to build his house.

At 19 years old my grandfather bought a sawmill kit in 1949, it was a belt driven system with a stationary circular saw that has a large carriage that runs the logs through the saw. and to this day we still run that old mill, we sawed a bunch of hemlock lumber that we used both for my barn and will be using on a new shed, very cool old tech. the mill you guys got will be amazing!

I worked for a farmer in Indiana who also (unfortunately for me), had his own timer mill which he used for cutting railroad ties. It was old and archaic. I hated that thing. If he had a mill like yours, I might even have enjoyed cutting the odd railroad tie.

You folks should have plenty of raw material with the wooded areas around the farm. The representative gave an impressive hands-on tutorial for operation of the mill. It will be a learning curve getting used to all the features, etc. The band type blade is sure different than the circular blades on local Amish sawmills in our area.

My best advice for you would be to join the Forestry Forum. There you can get true and honest advice and real world experiences about sawing the right way and help in any situation you might find yourselves in. I personally bought a Cook's AC36, but TK was my second choice. I'm located only 3.5 hours from Cook's. Be careful and keep safety your first priority. Good luck!! Sawdust is adictive!

I had a Cooks MP32 back in the day when i was still farming. I lived about 1 1/2 Hrs. away from Cooks so it was a logical choice for me. I loved sawing but I also had 4 chicken houses, about 70 beef cows and row cropped cotton so after letting it sit for about a year while busy with the money makers I sold it. Sometimes i wish i had sold everything but the cows and saw. Enjoy watching the videos. Look forward to the sawmill videos now. A lot different from South Alabama. lol

Aron you and your brothers may have to milk the cows for a while first 3 months I sawed every day I could. All of you take care be safe and well. Mom may want to run it to.

Milk prices are not that good, they have very nice machinery for a small dairy operation. Two skid steers, two very nice JD tractors, just got a new baler, there has to be another income stream, now a 100k for a mill. Great operation very thrifty, they take very good care of their equipment. Enjoy watching this channel, along with One Lonely Farmer.

Congratulations on the 2520. I have had a 1620 Timberking for a few years now and the additional features would be awesome, I just couldn't afford them at the time. I like the TimberKing sawmill and their service is second to none. I had to call for a replacement drive belt and they replaced under warranty which I did not expect. When you call, you are talking to the experts and not a call center somewhere creating a call ticket and you have to wait a few days for an answer. I have called them sitting on the sawmill in the field and had the answer without missing a beat on the job i was doing. Everyone I have talked to is very knowledgeable. They even helped me on how to saw extremely small log like a telephone pole. The really small stuff is harder for me to deal with on the sawmill than the big stuff. Enjoy!

Curious if the saw mill is bucket list item your finally could pencil out financially and available time or if you are buying it to prep for a large building project or new business adventure into larger scale furniture building? I was also wondering if the motor controller has option for inputs which could be programed for an idle/max power switch to idle down without having to repeated tap the up and down the engine speed. Thinking the repeated taps to a button that is exposed to the weather. Just a suggestion to you and Timberking.

double up on these set screws so the set screw in contact with the shaft remains tight and then the second set screw acts as a locking device. There are special set screws which are approx. 1/4-inch in length which are hollow through the center for this purpose. The length varies with the thread size, whether NC or Metric

Wow, very nice machine! As a smaller Woodmizer owner I'll give you my 2 cents. Take your time with the learning curve, it will make the future more enjoyable. Always be aware of the blade path. It's very easy to forget to lower the log stops, I know. Don't try and get more out of a blade than it's willing to give. Change it when needed. it will keep the frustration level down.

Congratulations on your TimberKing 2520 mill. This is the Cadillac of all mills. My farm is just 30 min north of TimberKing in KC, and I’ve just recently added the TK2220 sawmill to my farm.
I deliver these mills all over the country for TK, set up and teach ppl how to run them. The 2520 is one of my favorites to operate.
Looking forward to seeing videos of you all sawing on your farm.
