It's a shame that it got cancelled. I know it was weird and the plot was all over the place, but so was Riverdale, and that show has been around for years. Actually, Riverdale was worse, plot and character development wise. It had dark humor that might've been triggering for some, and yet actual problematic shows that could actually harm kids like 13 Reasons Why went on for four seasons, and that show wasn't self-aware or using humor to make light of a dark situation. It was just harmful, period. Of all the bad teen shows on Netflix, they decided to cancel the one that actually had some good messages (along with some problematic stuff too, to be fair), was relatable for many kids from broken families or eating disorders, had more diversity than the so-called less "edgy" shows, and was genuinely funny?

The one thing I hate about Dee's character is how they portrayed her. She's the only dark skinned woman on the show and of course she was loud, feisty and negative as hell to the main characters. One thing I honestly appreciated about this show was that the writers didn't inherently shame bisexuality or polyamoury and tried to actually write into the complexities of figuring out your sexuality as an adult, and how that can get messy if you mess up or mess with other people's feelings. They focus a lot on communication being important--and don't shame these ideas while also showcasing a harsh reality of lots of queerphobia amongst southern states. I literally just finished my rewatch of all the other MTV Videos thank you Athena for Knowing and giving us hit character Jesse (Jesse) in Whatever This Is.
🎶Hey Jessie!🎶Or should i say: 🎶Hey Debbie Ryan!🎶
🎵It feels like a party everyday🎵
genuinely loved this wild show!!! always happy to see new content about it, especially content that understands that its lowkey a hidden gem haha
The Bobs dating was all I remembered from this show.
thanks Athena for the great content you put out. you’re truly one of the funniest people i watch on youtube and i just want to show love to ya cause i know you put in VERY hard work to make such gems
The outfits and makeup Athena put together are always great, and this one is amazing!
ATHENA YESS FEELING SICK AND THIS MADE MY DAY 😭
Get better soon.
I hope you get better soon
get better soon
Hope you feel better soon!!
Oh this outfit and makeup is iconic
hate to admit i loved this show it was so insane
this show was so extremely campy. yes it was a dumpster fire in a lot of ways but that was the beauty of it. is it objectively a good show? no, but that's obviously not what the creators were going for. it was supposed to be super camp and super fun which is what it was. it's what made the show so enjoyable to watch.
I feel so vindicated seeing this. I saw this show shortly after it came out and for the longest time it felt like a weird fever dream.
I was super excited about the show when I had first watched this show because I was excited to have some polyamory in a show... Wish we'd get some GOOD polyamory in a show 😤
The 3 of them should’ve been endgame they were doing so well
I legitimately talked to someone about Insatiable just today, plus I've been hoping to find a review like this FOR SO LONG and then I see this video. Pure joy ❤️
Gotta say it's one of my favourite shows simply for the fact that it's a shit show and it wears it like a badge of honour (as it should). Just crazy vibes and terrible people all around and I am so here for it.
I binge watched this show with my sister and her girlfriend at the time. I think we finished it in like two weeks. This was so long ago, like when the show came out on netflix I think it was. The sheer entertainment and hours of laughs and suspense was amazing. Also we had so many deep conversations about shit and trauma in our own lives that I'll always remember. ❤
YAY!! You posted! I don't have to keep rewatching your videos on loop now! And it's extra long!
The added sound effects are one of the parts of your videos! I've watched your entire series and I love how you break down series so personably. Great vids!
It's been a few years since I saw this I also didn't remember ALL the shit that happened but that ending reveal was amazing.
now I just want to see one of these vids for the show ‘Suburgatory’ so bad, I think you’d get a kick out of it
I didn't know how badly I needed someone to talk about the entrancing chaos that was Insatiable, I will never get over never getting a season 3
i love your fit and makeup in this vid so much
i hope you are havin a good day🫶🏽
Hope you’re having a good day too!!
Thank you so much Athena for reminding me why i loved this show, its so bonkers and real and camp. I forgot so much of this show, its so good, i need to go rewatch it now lol; but like very very slowly lol
I remember watching the first season in 2018 over a friends house they were at episode 2 or 3 i didn't think much of it at first but it really got me hooked and i ended up binge watching the whole season that night.
THE CROSSOVER WE NEED BUT DIDNT DESERVE
Damn, you do amazing commentary 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 you had me locked in from the start and I felt like I was literally just chilling having a conversation w/ a friend lol, I was agreeing w/ everything! 😂❤
oh my GOD i love your dress so so much, looking gorgeous as always (i also love your themed makeup, it’s inspired me to get more creative with my own)
Thank you this was what I needed today
omg, that dress is GORGEOUS on you!!!!
I'm glad I've never spent time watching the show but swag video regardless
Same here.
Omg! Ive never heard my name used in a show before! Ive never seen this show before but wanted to watch your video and i got caught off guard completely when you said my name lol
5:30 can’t look at a Santa without tiering them
side note THAT DRESS !!!!! it was meant for you! You look AMAZING in it! great vid girl!
Wow 2018? You've done so much for yourself and your channel in such a short amount of time! Keep up the great work Athena!
As someone who watched your og Insatiable vid it interesting to see how you've evolved.
I absolutely love the costumes so much so simple so cool so dramatic❤
I don't think I ever saw this show, so everything you just described was absolutely wild! Love the way that this ended up being an amalgamation of plots from all of the other Camp or Cringe shows.
The outfit is slayying as always!!! ❤
The outfit is absolutely stunning, I'm not sure why every comment isn't about this
I genuinely loved this show when i watched it, it was the closest i've every felt to people who watch Real Housewives and other reality TV because they are all dislikable to some degree. I had forgotten how viscerally i felt the black screen gorging scene and the "I'M A GOOD PERSON! I'M A GOOD PERSON!" fuuuuck this show was my truest guilty pleasure
oh my god i need to know where you got that dress im obsessed
I fell into season 1 because I wanted to support Debby Ryan and then never picked up season 2. Now I must watch the whole thing.
OMG THE FACT THAT THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE SHOWS AND ON MY BIRTHDAY ❤❤❤❤
The dress is GIVING wow we love a goddess
Hello! Hope you have a great day! Take care!
The way that I've literally WATCHED this show all the way through and thought it was unhinged at the time but your review just showed me how much i must've repressed cos this was a wild journey. I have whiplash
0:04 WhErE aRe YoOoOoU, aNd I’m So SoRrY
Insatiable was wild. We need a third season definitely.
