    Watched this video last year and grabbed a couple of Florida swamp maples and a yellow oval pot and followed your instructions. It's sitting here smiling at me. I trimmed a little and I'm so proud.

    I love how he just gets right in there, grabbing, breaking-up, snipping, etc without any worries, shows true expert & a great teacher as well; shows not to worry about how it looks in process but the end result & how easy to get to that end result - organized chaos into outstanding beauty! 👍🏻❤

    I love how he always says he’s lazy, even though I’m pretty sure he works like every day and works all day. I’ve seen several videos filmed on Sundays so I really think he does at least some work every single day. I know a lot of people like him including my German grandmother, they can’t stand sitting and doing nothing, they will find ANY work to do even if they have plenty of excuses to rest. If you notice most elderly people that are very healthy are like that, it keeps them young mentally and physically!

    Thank you for your commitment to making bonsai accessible and simple. I am an American living in Bolivia and, as a confirmed plant addict, have been rescuing naturally-occurring, but unwanted (because of location), ficus seedlings. That has naturally led me to dabbling in bonsai and I recently bought a juniper for the express purpose of creating a bonsai, thanks to your guidance on TH-cam. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and philosophy.

    • @anthrophilosophia
      @anthrophilosophia 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      That conjures some beautiful imagery. Thank you.
      I'm a sucker for the zen garden styled bonsai setups where they make it look like there's a river and bridge and stuff like that, maybe a combed sandpit and monolith/upright stone. Takes the zen nature at the root of bonsai and then takes it into a miniature zen garden diorama. So gooood! It's like zen meta. Zen-ception.
      Not sure if you play games, but if your into trains and model railways I'd HIGHLY recommend OpenTTD; it's basically Roller-Coaster Tycoon, BUT FOR TRAINS (+rail networks)! It's also free! (It's the open-source remake of transport tycoon delux; openTTD.)
      also has road, sea, and air travel; but it's mostly to exclusively used as a virtual railway sim, and it's bloody fantastic at that.

    Youre the best! Thank you very much! I am going to give it a try now. First cheap nursery juniper, maybe maples, and hope to go looking for yamadori!
