These are going to be my official spring skirts. Circle skirts and the box pleated skirts. You are really helping me step up my game. Perfect pattern for my Ankara stash.
I added my waist and number of pleats I wanted. Waist 31+ each pleat ( 4inc×2) for 8 pleats. So i had to calculate a radius of 91 inc. And it was easier. Love yo tutorials.
Your videos saved me. I sew cosplays and I was having a really hard time trying to make a pleated skirt for a particular cosplay and your instructions on pattern making and sewing not only saved my project but saved my sanity. Wonderful and easy to follow instructions god bless you
As a seamstress I can suggest, to sew a zipper to a facing and the waistband, and after that, You sew Your lining to the zipper - You'll hide that raw edge and make Your skirt look cleaner. But the skirt is cute and it looks so good on You :)
I think she meant that it was so easy and why she could t think of it this way before ... You really made it very easy dear .. I can follow your video to make my dress ... thanks again
Wow this is gorgeous and your instructions for the 2 videos are perfect, not too wordy or distracting. I'm hooked now lol off to binge your videos. Thank you.
first of all you really cute and secondly your tutorials are really very useful and easily understood like crystal clear.😄 love you loads from India. Its a beautiful skirt.😊😘
❤️.......your video was soooooo easy to follow. After watching the pattern being made it makes it a quick and very easy garment to construct. Thank you. 🌹❤️🌹
You always make me want to try out new projects. You are a great teacher because you simplify the most complex things. For this skirt, I'm just going to cut out two full circle skirts, mark out my pleats and then join, Voila! Thanks dear and here is wishing you a Happy Easter.
Thank you for making this video and the one about making the actual pattern! I was scouring the internet for help making a pattern for a box pleated circle skirt and there wasn't anything until your videos. THANK YOU THANK YOU!
Oh My Gosh! I love that skirt. So flirty. Well done. I hope you get your serger fixed or replaced soon. Also, you are inspiring because you did not let that’s stop you from creating a beautiful garment. I’m surprised, because of your patterns and sewing expertise, that one of the machine manufacturers have not approached you to offer you a serger for promotional consideration. Unless you don’t do that. If you do I would look into it. Your awesome.
Thanks dear for your lovely comment. I want to buy a new over-locker though. No one has approached me to offer a serger for promotion 😂 I hope someone does soon, that'll be awesome!
Thank you for the zig-zag tip. I have a VERY old sewing machine at home and it is still functional but doesn't have an overlock option. So the last time I made a circle skirt (which was a year ago) I ended up overlocking everything BY HAND!
Hi Kim, i would like to request for a wrap around skirt tutorial. I juat subsribe to your channel recently and it ia giving me inspiration. You make everything seem to be easy. 😘
Keep it up girl I love it and I don't just know where am getting this love for you from really 😘😘😘😆😆😆I love every thing about your tutorials and your self!!!!
This is the best skirt tutorial I have ever seen! I literally have folder of skirt tutorials and this is the best. Can you make another but with pockets? Or a flat front, elastic back with pockets?
Yayyyyy glad you enjoyed the tutorial. I plan on making a midi pencil skirt with button up panel in front this summer. As for the other skirt types, I will gradually get to them in time.
Hello dear, hope you're fine. I'm from Brazil and lately I discovered your videos. I'm loving them. You make it so easy to understand (organized in two parts "cut & sew") and you're very careful with the details. In my opinion, it's great. I'm thinking about try to make one. Take care!
Kim Dave...Thanks for support. Do you have videos for begginers? What are the ones that you recomend? I would love start to make may own models and sew them.
Hello Miss Kim I'm new to your channel and I've subscribed and pressed the bell. QUESTION I'm a beginner and I really learned a lot yesterday about measurements on the circular skirt. Can you please make a video on the math part on how to figure out the numbers to draft clothing. What measurement system is used in Europe because I keep seeing videos where both centimeters and inches are used which is more common and what is the professional way to measure. Here in the States it's inches, but in Mexico is centimeters, and in Spain is centimeters. I'm looking forward to learning from you. Thank you so much looking forward to your videos. God bless
i don't know if you will see this, but I just want to let you know, I only recently came across your page last night, because I really want to learn how to take measurements and make patterns. What I would normally do is use clothing that fit my daughters and I well and trace those for patterns, but most times I want to make things other than shorts lol. Anyway I just want to say thank you and I hope to learn a lot from your videos.
This is so freaking beautiful :3 i'm waiting my fabrics to come to make one long skirt like that. Plus, your tutorial is so well explained from A to Z so we can redo it correctly. Thanks so much :)
BlackBrunnette i'm ordering from tissus.net based in Europe but they deliver in my country. It tooks 2 month but i'm glad because it's less expensive than the shop in my country.
I tried this.. started from the circle skirt to adding lining and band and I have never been proud of myself... thank you very much for this..
I do a lot of cosplay and never dreamt about doing a pleated circle skirt until your videos. Thank you for posting this!
You welcome dear.
Hope you get to try it out & comes out great 👍

Wonderfully made. I could listen to you explain calculus and actually like it, your accent is so beautiful!
As a seamstress I can suggest, to sew a zipper to a facing and the waistband, and after that, You sew Your lining to the zipper - You'll hide that raw edge and make Your skirt look cleaner.
But the skirt is cute and it looks so good on You :)

I'm learning a lot from you. The waist band trick is cool.
I like so much your videos...I'm from Brazil, sometimes I don't understand everything that you speak but just the videos and images help me! Thanks!
I took the lazy route and made my skirt 1.5 sizes to big and then applied the pleats where I wanted them ☺️
Hahahha that's alright!
With fashion design there are many ways to do one thing, as long as you're happy with the outcome 😀
Kim Dave Wanna ask one thing???? Have you cut that lining piece in the same round pattern????
Omg I have the exact same fabric from fabric land in bristol
@@thecolourofearth7045 lining twice the waist measurment
Yes, Kim! You better teach me how to sew a box pleated skirt with class and simplicity! 5 🌟s!
