Hi, It looks as if the jumper is JP1 on the schematic, and is at the input to the filters. It parallels an 8,2k resistor with one already in the input circuit thus halving the input resistance, and therefore presumably increasing the stage gain. Regards Dave
I think your correct, it places the two resistors in parallel thereby reducing the total resistance input. Maybe this mic is sold for radios with a different impedance requirement ?
@@ruiamorim1975200able It's a pre-amp microphone when you buy it. I have 2 of them and run one on my FT-991A and the other on my FT-1000MP Mark-V. I sometimes use one of them on a FT-897D as well. I wonder what shorting those 2 pads is doing? He may be bypassing the audio adjustment filter switches (high emphasis and low cut) settings board altogether.
with this mod it keeps the filters but increases the modulation, when paired with the ft710 that has the eq's adjusted works phenomenally well.

I can confirm this works, thanks for posting this very informative video.
Lady Troublemaker from Chicago say I like this MIC
nice
Why wouldn't they do this from the factory and what is the bridge actually doing?
becomes a amplified microphone

@@CliffFoxKU4GW filters are still active i have tried them
tried and makes an improvement in audio
Very nice video. 73’s KE5MUG
I will try this, my audio is very low on FM.
Thanks fir the video. Will it also work on SSB?
Yes
I shall try.......
Anyone that goes and sautters points together on their microphone. Not knowing what it even is or what it does you're asking for trouble😅
I
