This video was all about timing but based on the way the video was edited and such, i can't lie and say that I didn't think that was bloody awesome! The Plesioth part got me laughing.
Wow. The sheer skill in this video... the moment I realized this was all stunts by ONE person, I was amazed. The G Rank Barioth Armor. Excellent choice. And the music at the end, Song of Seasons... I listened to that song SOOOO much when I began playing MH3U. (Nujabes is amazing) Hearing it again after seeing all that Ass-kicking brought back some nostalgia. All in all, GREAT video. I'm impressed.
Its not just timing though, monsters don't react to most attacks regardless of timing. Have to hit a specific body part and deal enough damage to that part to go over its "stagger limit". He had to do math in his head (the game doesn't show this anywhere) to know for sure the attack would cause a stagger, otherwise the monster would take the damage but just keep going and hit him. Only a very skilled (or very lucky) player would be able to do the math (and timing) for this on purpose!
Im a GS user more than other weapon and i can do thing like that whit GS, and Lance (cuz this is my 2nd best weapon) and it take a lot of practice, my next step is DS and HH

This is a impact weapon, but the handle is a cutting part, so yes you can cut with a hunting horn the same way you can stun with a great sword.
