    Thanks, great method. A tip if you only want the rays streaming in a particular direction and angle: enlarge your canvas and move your painted dots. The zoom blur always centers on the center point of the canvas. If you want to show a light source pointing, e.g. up and to the right, make a big canvas and move the dots to the upper right quadrant before you do the blur effect. The further your dots are from the center point, the tighter the angle of the rays. If you want to represent a distant light source with rays that are almost parallel, move your dots far from the center point.

    • @Moonflush
      @Moonflush 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Actually, zoom blur can be moved. There is an option in it "blur center", which can be dragged around
      (found it out just now)

    Thanks for the awesome video! just two tips though, Hitting "X" switches the two colours of the brush so you don't have to constantly click on it and drag to black or white!
    and hitting "D" sets the brush to it's default colours too (black as primary and white as secondary)

  • @gravetidings6971
    @gravetidings6971 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    You can also change the brush size and hardness by pressing the Alt-key(option key on Mac) and the right mouse button at the same time....move the mouse right and left for size and up and down for hardness. :}

    This is cool (thank you), but I was hoping to see how you made the light rays look realistic through the letters of the solid font (like in the thumbnail for this video).

    This is a nice tutorial, but you only show how to apply this effect to a light source that is dead center of the canvas. Radial blur centers on the center. How do I aim it?

    If you didn't show every single step done the wrong way before actually showing how to create the desired effect, this video could have been much shorter.
