    The table shows the volumes of KI and Na2S2O3 quantities; however, these two are powder - please specify grams for each.

    what is the role of sulfuric acid here??

    Why would I get red color as soon as I mix the two solutions?

      You should not get red color!

      @@chatzida I know; I did. Maybe wrong concentrations; would you give me the grams and ml of the solutions you used?

    I confused. I've tried many methods, but it never works.

    Love this it was EXTREMELY helpful!!!!!!!!!! thanks! Just a quick question could I use vitamin C instead of thiosulfate?

    • @chatzida
      @chatzida  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! Theoretically you can use vit c instead of sodium thiosulfate. However, I am not sure if the color change will be equally abrupt since I haven't tried it.

    hello again i can not get my starch transparent maybe bc i am using cornflower ? should i use different starch? thx

      I guess yes. I use "soluble starch" most probably prepared from potato

      Try fine powdered rice starch as starch source. Boil it, cool it down and filter it. That should work as you would filter out most of the "nasties".

    hello my friend because you're in chemistry I would like to know is there any way to make transparent starch solution? because I tried to filter it and it doesn't work .thx

    • @chatzida

      I prepare my 2% starch solution in a way that it is transparent. I boil 100 mL of water in a beaker (beaker A), and in a separate beaker (B) I weigh 2 g of starch. Then I add a very small amount of room temperature water on the starch and I mix with a glass rod to make a slurry (not a solution). It is important to add the proper amount of water; we do not want starch powder nor solution but a slurry.
      Then I pour the hot water of beaker A to beaker B and stir thoroughly with a rod or magnetic stirrer. The resulting starch solution is transparent!
      But keep in mind that starch solutions are not preserved too long because bacteria and fungi love them!

      @@chatzida thx my friend this is what I did but its not really transparent. i.e like water .if i use Maltodextrin can it be clear like water? bc i know it has starch in it thx a lot

    What would be the theoretical value for the activation energy of the reaction between sodium sulfite, potassium iodate and sulfuric acid?

    hi, could you tell me the concentration of hydrogen peroxide,before preparing the molar solution

    • @chatzida
      @chatzida  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The stock solution was 35% w/w which corresponds to 11.4 M molarity. We prepared the 0.2 M by diluting with water.
