Excellent work, Sergius! Your patience and persistence has paid off handsomely. In all my years in Homer, I've only seen lynx twice and both times only briefly so I can well appreciate the time and effort you put into this video.
what a cool experience!! Amazing creature and loved your persistence and devotion to the shot and the storytelling is phenomenal. That sound they make is incredible!
Love this Sergius! You are a terrific story teller and your enthusiasm shines:) Your exploring efforts were well rewarded and your brother is great at filming your adventures.
This was amazing! I was so excited for you and felt the anticipation, the disappointment, the fails and the win! Your video of the lynx and it's mating call I felt the excitement running through you and what a cool experience. Thanks so much for sharing! I too have a camera trap and can relate to all work, disappointment, but the few wins I get are worth it all! This was a cool video!
Very well done Sergius. As you become more widely known for your dedication and its results I'll be able to say I knew you when you battled AL Winters with shorts and sandals LOL
Im amazed at the amount of work and prep you put into this! From all ive heard proper camera trapping with DSLRs isnt a piece of cake, but things did go really well!
Nice work! You put so much effort and story telling into your films. I would call this a successful effort to camera trap given its inherent difficulties and how elusive lynx are. We actually have 750 - 1000 lynx population in Maine, so I think that would make it one of the biggest populations of the US states. I still haven't seen one. I learned a lot in this film.
A few years ago I was way out in the woods of Trapper Creek (near Talkeetna) in an old mine camp when a lynx strolled right by my camp. It stopped when it saw me and sat down for a few seconds to observe. It was so cool! I’ve lived in AK my whole life and have only seen one lynx before. My first sighting was a very brief one when i was in my car in Hope and it ran across the road at night. Not much of a sighting.
Great job! I have lived in Alaska 43 years I may have seen a lynx once in tall grass. I didnt get a good look. I did hear one make the same sound as a pissed off mountain lion. Like the normal movie big cat sounds. Or do we have mountain lions? lol I just realized i heard a big cat roar and assumed it was a lynx.
