Personally I've been a civic fan for the longest time, even when I saw the specs of the Corolla when it first came out, I laughed at it's carried over 1.8 engine. My opinions changed when I went for a test drive. The ride was so smooth and quite. The handling and seating was just spot on. In the civic I felt a bit too low for my liking (did give a sporty feel). With the civics 1.5T engine, yes you get a lot more power but that power isn't necessary in day to day driving. So I think this time, the Corolla is a winner for me 😄

    • @kingtonmufc
      @kingtonmufc 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yeah, i guess it's fair to say most of us grew up worshiping the Civic but it's sad to see this lil' fella being overshadowed in sales. The Civic feels roomier because the rear seats are just too thin and too low.

U will suffer when passby the genting road with full load. This car more suitable for city drive, and i guess vios more then enough for city drive, normal buyers wont spend 130-140k for this. Import from thailand is bad move, buyer mayb can accept this price if import from japan just like mazda3 la. Now i can see new mazda3 more then new altis.

For general public of non-Toyota nor Honda fans, Civic has done so many things right on paper and in showroom, let alone the 1.5Turbo engine with additional 50Nm compared to the lethargic 1.8NA in Corolla... This is why Civic is such a huge success even after so many years on market... But still Corolla is going to appeal to a huge bunch of Toyota fanboys and general mindset of looking for reliability and resale value, at least it is now in a much safer way with TSS...

  • @JoDON111

In my opinion, the zig-zag pattern of the gear selector going to P, R,N,D, (S)is actually a good thing.
Because sometimes a straight line gear selector, can sometimes makes you accidentally when to (S) without you noticing
While the zig-zag pattern, reduce your accidentally put into (S). Even if you put into (S), you will know what gears if you have chosen

There's a lot to like about Toyota's current lineup, but it sucks that their image is tarnished by UMW, the cars are much better outside our market. I don't think I'll be buying a new car from UMW. Period.

True, like many out there, the Civic's turbo-fed performance and price augurs well. The TNGA platform is not just about fitting double wishbones at the back and making a modular platform, i think it really works. Upgrading from a 2004 Vios , this Corolla was sorely tempting as the ideal daily ride but me being anti CVT i opted for the Camry.

Civic driving experience is nowhere near continental cars except in a straight line. Steering feel numb, cornering is okay if you never drive a conti, a bit below average if you lived with a conti. I'm guessing this will be more or less the same plus a bit more sluggish due to the 1.8l engine. Front end looks good though.

Hi, im considering to get one. It seems the backseat position is so upright. Hows your opinion so far for this car? The seats are comfortable so long ride?

I like give examples nice dress pant but Croc. Toyota always do that. If u r a new car buyer and compared to other country market u will disappoint with give all less nicer stuff. Like engine vise they will bring lesser model aka 2.0 but here give 1.8 still ok with engine but compared the body kid rims sucs. We not ask to sell lesser model here. Atleast that only can brings here make sure give nicer rims and body kid.

Cant argue that it looks good? Are u on some drug ?
so disappointed when they first reveal this design of the corolla. 4 years back civic design is better than this.
Went for test drive, the moment i sat inside i know this isnt the car for me, the dashboard is too high up and the infortainment looks so aftermarket product with the huge bump behind. U.G.L.Y.
Even the upcoming city is better looking than this despite the difference segment.

Looks are subjective. I thought this look better than the civic the civic grill in front looked like teeth on a car. Now the Jazz 2020 is worse. I have seen a number of reviews and the conclusion is the same, the civic is more powerful while the corolla is more comfortable.

Gabriel Chan That why malaysia will no longer have honda jazz , the 2020 Honda “FIT” is meant to be Japan market , instead Honda malaysia gonna bring in City Hatchback to replace Jazz. Shouldn’t compare something that isn’t on sale in the market yet

Who in their right mine wiuld like tl buy a China made and rebadge vehicle with unknown reliability record and also 1.5T but could not match the ride and handling of the Corolla when u drive in some curvy kampung road who cares about the 1.5T
