The car is just amazing and what an amazing lady to keep her husband's spirit alive by driving the car. Mary you are something else!

I love this car and what a great story. I used to have one back in the day and I still wish I did now. Take care of this gem.

Tom, First of all thank you so very much for watching my videos and subscribing to my channel I truly appreciate it. My intention for the videos is to showcase the car and also allow the owner of the car (the caretaker as Jay Leno rightly says) the opportunity to share their story, love and passion for their car. I would agree this car has the perfect look and with the chrome.. she just pops too.

Beautiful car! My folks had one back in 57, same colors, though it was a USA version of the Monterey.
Several differences, only the Montclair had the persimmon at the top edge of the doors, and the steering wheel was white not black. Ours also had the optional (for the USA Monterey) fender skirts. It was my job as a five year old to wash the shirts on wash day. 😮
    Enjoyed the reminiscent video.

Scott, that is priceless. Thank you for sharing.. I think white steering wheels rank right up there with chrome and fender skirts as things I love about classic cars. It also struck me as to how many 5 year olds these days would help wash the car. They seem to be more interested in playing computer games. I think it’s our duty to encourage young people to appreciate classic cars and wonder why there are no switches for power windows or blue tooth… LOL.

Beautiful!…….I’m looking for officer Dan Matthews to pull up at any moment in his Highway Patrol car and start rifling some question off . 👍

Bennie, First of all thank you so very much for watching my videos and subscribing to my channel I truly appreciate it. My intention for the videos is to showcase the car and also allow the owner of the car (the caretaker as Jay Leno rightly says) the opportunity to share their story, love and passion for their car. The car is truly awesome in every way. The Monterey has some of the nicest body lines and this car just makes a statement with the 2 tone paint to. I think also officer Matthews may have to give a ticket for the car since it is so distractingly beautiful.

Gerry, First of all thank you so very much for watching my videos and subscribing to my channel I truly appreciate it. My intention for the videos is to allow ´ordinary people’ who love cars an opportunity to speak about their car and why that car means so much to them. After all we are all the "caretakers"of our cars (as Jay Leno rightly says). 👏 I couldn't agree with you more and so impressive to see a Canadian car survive all these years with the snow and salt on our roads.

They were called Mercury Monarchs in Canada, I had a 55 and 56, the best vehicles at the time in my opinion. It wasn't Flat 8s they were Y blocks overhead valves.

Freddy, thanks for clarifying that. I was wondering about the name too. I also wanted to take a moment to personally thank for watching my videos and subscribing to my channel I truly appreciate it. As you may have seen in my videos that my intention is to showcase not only the beautiful car and really give the owner of the car (the caretaker as Jay Leno rightly says) the opportunity to share their story, love and passion for their car. Thanks again Kevin.

The Engines were !955 292s and 1956 312s Y block overhead valves. The Monarch engines were Blue printed and balanced from the factory with bigger Valves and crank journals. I worked on many of them and raced them as well. Big difference between Ford and Mercury but physically looks the same.
