@ Where we road in the video, not great. We were hitting logs and rocks, luckily no damage. Further west in Revelstoke the snow pack is looking incredible
Thanks Jason I have a 2023 RMK PRO and was just out on the weekend in Golden BC and trying to figure out what the hell to do with the suspension. Big thanks! 💯
Thanks for the vid, good tips. One thing I’d love to hear an explanation on is when to add preload vs compression. So for example when you’re saying something like “stiffen up the rear track shock to keep the skis down and prevent trenching” you could achieve that with cranking on some preload OR some low-speed compression. When would you do which one and why? Thanks and hello from a transplanted Canadian down in California 👋
Start by testing different spring preloads as it will have the most noticeable effect. Second adjust your low speed compression until you get the desired result. If you’re still not there, move to the high speed adjuster. I could have been more clear in that part in the video, thanks!
Also, start with the rear track spring. You can only go so tight or loose on the spring, stick to the min and max length specs in the manual. Happy testing 👍
@@gymkhanadog Very nice feature for sure 👍 The base models don’t have adjustable compression settings. The Khaos that I have here comes with the upgraded Walker Velocity shocks.
Also Jason suggests doing a piece on testing different scratchers cable scratchers versus spring tension ones. Which ones are better? Or if anybody out there has tried the cable ones. Let me know.
I highly recommend buying the new reversible type of scratchers from Polaris. Doug’s ‘23 Boost was overheating constantly on the trail with the old type. He upgraded to the reversible type and now his sled runs much cooler and doesn’t overheat. 🍻
I wonder why they designed a setting that will ruin the shock? Do other manufacturers do that? Seems like a terrible idea, especially if it says that in the manual.
I think what Polaris meant is the Compression adjusters can be screwed in tight past the last click, and not to do that. But that’s not what it says in the manual, so for now I’m setting mine to 11 of 12 clicks in or 7 of 8 in, max.

@@gregturnbow7089 No problem! The new matryx RMKs are very good at getting up on top of the snow. Great handling too
Thanks Jason. I took my new 9R out this last weekend. I wish I would have found this video before. Good info for the next ride.
@@DIRTBIKEFAB They come setup great, but adding to the compression to the ski shocks helped it corner much flatter 👍
Thanks Jason! This was very helpful!
Thanks, Josh!
Thanks for the tip video Jason! Gonna have to keep that in mind when I upgrade
@@BoughieBouge No problem 👍
Thanks Jason. You taught me to be happy with my 2025 Summit X Expert that doesn’t include a setting to grenade my shocks out of the box.
I like those 3-position adjusters on the KYBs! You can damage your center shock though if you let you limiter strap out too far 🍻
Always good to hear from you!
Thx Jason this is always helpful🙂

@@JasonCaville how’s the snow pack this year at Canada? Here in the sierras California not so good

I was getting decent results. Time consuming doing one change at a time, but pretty fun too. 👍
Thanks man!

It's crazy that everything today has compression and rebound adjustments, as well as low and high speed. That used to be a high priced luxury.

I second the new Polaris reversible scratchers. We’re seeing 10-20 degrees cooler running down the trail. The cable ones aren’t worth the money
Thanks! I just got a set of the reversible scratchers since one of my stock ones busted off.@@JasonCaville good to know they work better than stock!!

@@johnhorsfall4032 I like the flexibility of the clickers. Go stiffer if you want to pick up the pace, or go soft for cruising
