Wow, you’ve been busy! Last year I too was busy knitting. I knit three baby blankets, 17 sweaters, two ponchos, four dishcloths and one pair of socks. This year I’m planning on knitting all my adult nieces socks for Christmas and am on my second pair. Knit on girlfriend….
Just started knitting socks and my husband is addicted to them. It is actually really rewarding to see him take an interest in what I am making and seeing him wear them. Thank you for being so inspirational and all the patterns I have made have been yours. You are a blessing to us all.
So many socks!!! This year I will be making my first pair and will be looking into your Vanilla socks ❤ You have been working with such beautiful yarns ❤
Glad you are back. Really like what you did in the room. I know it makes a big difference when you rearrange. Just like a new room. Can’t believe you knitted so many pairs of socks last year! What an accomplishment. You have inspired me to cast on a new pair just trying to decide what yarn. You also inspired me to start Bible recap this year. Thank you and God Bless!!
Fabulous result on finished projects for last year. I completed 66 which is a good amount as I made a lot of wearables. Loving the blankets and socks. Have a great weekend ❤❤❤
So nice to see you again after a wonderful break. I was keeping up with your instagram stories and then my phone got put away in the Christmas shuffle so I agree that it's nice to unplug and be with family! Also those socks for Wyatt's friend with the cream and fall colours are GORGEOUS!
This is my 2nd time watching the podcast. I wake up early anyway buy 9:30am Fri, I was looking for you. IT WAS MY BIRTHDAY #65. Yarnable was open in Dec and I signed up. An early birthday gift to me. I got the 1 skien of DK & it had some goodies in it. I have decided what to do with my Row One minis. I have fallen in love with the moss/linen stitch. So starting with Dec of '24 I'm making a blanket. ( Chained 300 wow). Wherever the mini ends that's where the next one starts ( held double).Good seeing. Be safe & blessed.
This was such a fun surprise to catch up with you today! Congrats on all your makes for 2024! I loved seeing your projects on the needles 😊 happy knitting with the snow! ❤
Hi Kayla, Happy New Year. It was great seeing you videoing again and showing us all your beautiful things you had knitted over the holidays break. I enjoyed hearing all the statistics of your knitting creations of 2024. Wow you did an amazing amount of socks and I loved seeing them all and all the combinations of colours and patterns that you have done. I started knitted socks with your vanilla you tube tutorial on magic loop and your vanilla pattern in the beginning of 2022. I have completed up to the end of 2024 about 21 to 22 pairs of socks. You are a fast knitter. I crochet faster than I knit. I have tried continental knitting but just can't seem to get my fingers and hands to do the new technique. I was inspired to knit socks from a lady at knitting and crochet group I go to every Tuesday morning. She was using DPNs but I thought I wouldn't be able to hold them all so I decided on magic loop once I had seen your tutorial Thankyou again. I just love knitting socks and buying merino , nylon mix yarn to knit with to make them. I think buying the yarn is another craft or hobby too. Hope you have a great week.
Thanks for sharing all your knitting with use. We are having a very hot summer in South Africa. I am knitting on my summer Tee. It is the Love Letter Top. Thanks for the knitting chat. Your blanket is beautiful. I must work on my Battenburg blanket
So glad you are back, missed you podcasting. Wow! What a great year of knitting you've had, amazing that you made that many socks, love it! You are so great to share all the details in and links to your raverly pages very helpful. I would love to get a knitting needle gauge ring, mind sharing where you got yours? See you next week! :)
Oh goodness… I can’t recall the name of the maker. I purchased it at NY Sheep & Wool Festival in 2019. I’ll see if I can locate the name of the maker! ❤️❤️
I am so jealous of your snow 😭 I live in NH, and we got a little bit Christmas Eve - but since then, NOTHING. It has been so cold (single digits) and sooooo windy. I hate snowless winters. ☹️ Edited to add: I am loving DK socks right now, too. 🥰 I am using your pattern, and it is wonderful!
❤❤happy new year , Kay 🎉🎉 Great to catch up early this snowy morning,,, Glad u got some snow ❄️ too,,,,, Love all ur socks,,,,92🎉🎉🎉 Wow,,,thats do great,,, I gift alot too,,,, ELAINE 🏡⛄
Welcome back and Happy New Year! Love the new look of the room! The window in front of you is reflecting in the glass of the door of the cabinet behind you, so we can see the snow and trees outside! Beautiful!
Happy New Year to all!! Great to see the first episode of ‘25. My NY Day cast on is some stash yarn socks…. Here’s to making a dent in the stash this year! Peace, my friends. ❤
We have freezing rain right now. It is the slowest, lightest drizzle. Love all of the projects! I am also thinking about going to the no frills Yarnable. I love their extras, but I do have a lot right now.
Congratulations on your stats for the year. Love the scarf for Eric. I remember you knitting the phone box socks ! The new arrangement of your room makes it look cosy. 🇬🇧
Happy New Year, Kayla! Thank you for another great year of your content. Always inspiring, informative and fun. Thank you for taking time to do this. ❤
Loved the episode!! I changed my yarnab,e too, I am going to try the worsted weight yarn for a little bit! Oh and your necklace is beautiful Kayla! Enjoy your snow, today down here in western ky we got almost 5 inches!!
I'm sorry the notebook cover I made and sent you didn't work out. I hope you found a good home for it and enjoyed the gift of giving! Great video- missed seeing your accomplishments- They help keep me motivated!
Love Area51 Fibres, for my teens, I find a coordinating color and add about 10 rows just after the cuff and just before the toes and that usually makes them tall enough for them!
I think I should switch to the no frills option also, I just have so many of the extras laying around. Some I just have no idea what to do with them. We got snow and ice earlier this week and my kids haven’t had school because of the ice this whole week. Most streets in town look good, but some of the neighborhood streets (like mine) have a lot of ice on them still. We are getting more snow as I type this. Tomorrow is my birthday and I have knitting group so I’m hoping the snow isn’t bad.
I get the no frills option feeling. When you have been doing an extras club for years it can become quite a collection of bits and bobs. That is pretty cool they started doing an only yarn option!
What do you do to get the straight nice edge on your scarf? I know you explained it but missed it……sorry. I am only on my third pair of socks but your encouraging videos keep me going. I really like making socks but it is a little struggle for me. Thank you for all I learn watching you. Happy New Year.
GM Kay You do incredible socks and colours ohhh lala !! Don’t think you mentioned your book marks you made also ? They were so pretty!! Happy you enjoyed your holidays … everyone needs down time for sure 😊 Until next Pod … stay warm and cozy❤
Do you have a suggestion for a small sock bag that I could use to carry? I'm attempting to make my first pair of socks off your vanilla sock pattern. I'm a senior so I don't have a lot of money to spend on an expensive bag. .
My Costco can have very long lines, good knitting time. Most times someone chats with me about knitting. People are amazed that anyone would knit socks.
Hi, Kay 👋 Is that Little Women in cross-stitch behind you? So great to see your face again after the holiday break. I’m glad you had a restful time with lots of knitting!
So great to see you! Question….Do you knit in church? I haven’t been, because I don’t see anyone else doing it. I could still easily pay attention and knit at the same time. Is it considered a “no-no”?
May I ask a question? I cannot make socks, gloves etc, because I cannot get gauge small enough. Wooden needles help some, but for example today tried to make a pair of socks that called for 2 needles and even with using a size 0 I cannot get gauge. Any tips? I really want pair of socks that I made and that fit. thank you.
I would suggest just practicing tightening up your tension. Maybe that means wrapping the yarn around a finger differently while knitting, etc. I know if I want to tighten up I wrap the yarn twice around my pinky vs once around.
how on earth did you knit a pair of fingering socks in 6 days, while knitting on a couple of other pairs?! i may have that wrong, but i think i’m close. but wow, you must either knit like lightning or do nothing else all day and night. you’re a total whiz! happy new year🥳! ps - ooops, if i’d listened just two seconds more, i would’ve heard you explain how you do it. so impressive!
And that’s why they call you the Crazy Sock Lady! Your socks are beautiful, awesome colours and so neat! A fabulous selection! Not forgetting your blankets which look awesome too! Lovely to have you back x
Hey Kayla! I don't know if I'm the minority opinion, but still wanted to share. Although I think the new angle is nice, it is kind of distracting seeing the ring light reflected off the cabinet in the back. Kinda bright!
Are all the socks you knitted in fingering weight because a couple of them look a bit thicker. I'm looking into knitting socks with DK this year. I need my socks to be thicker. Hope that works. I love how you approach "goals" for the year. You haven't any. I love that and will follow your example. Don't think I will get many socks done though because what I really like to knit is afghans. Crazy, huh?
The mini sock is so cute. You should make one for every big pair you make and create a memory garland for your craft area.

92 pair!!! That is AMAZING!!! Plus all the other things you knit! 😱😱😱 I am SO impressed!
So many socks!!! This year I will be making my first pair and will be looking into your Vanilla socks ❤ You have been working with such beautiful yarns ❤

Wow. You are an inspiration-and so modest.
You’ve knit so many socks last year!! I absolutely love your socks from the colorway, a Savior is born, the color so pretty!!
So nice to see you again after a wonderful break. I was keeping up with your instagram stories and then my phone got put away in the Christmas shuffle so I agree that it's nice to unplug and be with family! Also those socks for Wyatt's friend with the cream and fall colours are GORGEOUS!
The secretary reminds me of something my parents had at home when I was younger - lovely knitting as always.
So glad you’re back but I understand needing a nice break with your family!
Love your new cabinet. The room looks great!!❤
So glad our friend is back! That tiny sock is adorable!!

Holy cow!! 92 pairs of socks!! Love the new Yarnable colorway!!!
Happy New Year! Beautiful projects. I love your room rearrangement. Your secretary desk is gorgeous.
So many beautiful socks and projects! You can hang the sock ornament on the knob of your new cabinet
So glad you are back, missed you podcasting. Wow! What a great year of knitting you've had, amazing that you made that many socks, love it! Especially if you ski!! I am from Ma and NH was our skiing - I am now in SC so, fun memories!!
I wish I had as much knitting time as you. I am obsessed and want to be knitting every minute! Thanks for a great podcast.

Happy New Year, Kayla! Thank you for another great year of your content. Always inspiring, informative and fun. Thank you for taking time to do this. ❤
92!!!🎉 Wowwww. I made 2! LOL. ❤
I also love knitting socks! I hardly ever have any wear out, because I just have so many in rotation at this point. Great podcast!
We have snowy weather too unusual for the UK. It's nice to see you back x
Loved the episode!! I changed my yarnab,e too, I am going to try the worsted weight yarn for a little bit! Oh and your necklace is beautiful Kayla! Enjoy your snow, today down here in western ky we got almost 5 inches!!
Hi Kayla you are definitely the socks lady Kaye x
You are a knitting machine. Happy New Year.
I'm sorry the notebook cover I made and sent you didn't work out. I hope you found a good home for it and enjoyed the gift of giving! Great video- missed seeing your accomplishments- They help keep me motivated!
I have it on another notebook! ❤️
Happy New Year friends and welcome back Kay. Nice to see and hear about your year makes, very cool. Have a blessed weekend everyone.
I love your new yarn cabinet!
Those little Christmas stocking are so cute! I think it’d be great to decorate a tree with them! Maybe stick a candy cane in them!
Taking a break over the holiday season always feels more relaxing to me than any other time of the year, so I'm glad that you felt the same way
I wash and dry all of my socks in the washing machine/dryer. So that’s what I recommend everyone do that I gift to.
Love Area51 Fibres, for my teens, I find a coordinating color and add about 10 rows just after the cuff and just before the toes and that usually makes them tall enough for them!

I get the no frills option feeling. When you have been doing an extras club for years it can become quite a collection of bits and bobs. That is pretty cool they started doing an only yarn option!
Yes! I’m like I love them allllll but sometimes a break is good. 😂
Happy New Year. We also got snow in Arkansas this week. ❤❤❤
So wonderful to see your smiling face again!
❤️❤️
Maybe you could make a fun garland out of mini socks 😊 your knits are so beautiful and inspiring ❤
Enjoyed the first 2025 podcast. Love your socks!
So glad to see a new episode! Happy new year!
You are a knitting machine ❤❤
Happy New Year from snowy western NC 🎉
Wow, youve been quite a busy bee. My total for last year is 64 different projects, but only 10 or 12 pairs of socks.
What do you do to get the straight nice edge on your scarf? I know you explained it but missed it……sorry. I am only on my third pair of socks but your encouraging videos keep me going. I really like making socks but it is a little struggle for me. Thank you for all I learn watching you. Happy New Year.
Details are always on my Ravelry project page also. I slip the last stitch knit wise.
Oh I agree about the short row heel on the tiny stockings! No fun! Great idea to just do a regular heel flap. I’m going to try that on my next one!
GM Kay
You do incredible socks and colours ohhh lala !!
Don’t think you mentioned your book marks you made also ? They were so pretty!!
Happy you enjoyed your holidays … everyone needs down time for sure 😊
Until next Pod … stay warm and cozy❤
Hi! I’m not sure when you mean? I did show them on a previous episode. And they were included in the totals I gave in this episode for 2024 stats. ❤️
@ oh I’m sorry
Didn’t hear it in the round up may have put my dog out
Any ways have a great week until next pod 😊
Happy New Year to you and your family, from Swansea, Illinois.
Wyatt wanting a longer sock leg makes sense for boot wearing. Great video.
Great to have you back!
Thank you! It’s great to be back! ❤️
The little sock ornaments would make a cute garland
They would!!! 😍😍
That scarf came out great! Nice color combo.
Thank you!
Love the cabinet in the background!
Beautiful socks. Thanks for sharing! Happy 2025!
Do you have a suggestion for a small sock bag that I could use to carry? I'm attempting to make my first pair of socks off your vanilla sock pattern. I'm a senior so I don't have a lot of money to spend on an expensive bag.
.
You could use a small make up bag or anything like that ❤️
Happy New Year!
My Costco can have very long lines, good knitting time. Most times someone chats with me about knitting. People are amazed that anyone would knit socks.
It’s definitely a conversation starter!
Hi, Kay 👋 Is that Little Women in cross-stitch behind you? So great to see your face again after the holiday break. I’m glad you had a restful time with lots of knitting!
Yep, it is!
@ so cool! I loved that book when I was little.
Damn, girl. 184 socks in a year is amazing!!!! Also your skin looks beautiful.
Thank you!! 😊
So great to see you! Question….Do you knit in church? I haven’t been, because I don’t see anyone else doing it. I could still easily pay attention and knit at the same time. Is it considered a “no-no”?
I don’t knit in church, I just wouldn’t feel comfortable doing it. I wouldn’t want to be a distraction to anyone around me.
@ Good point! I didn’t think about being a distraction, I would never want to do that.
May I ask a question? I cannot make socks, gloves etc, because I cannot get gauge small enough. Wooden needles help some, but for example today tried to make a pair of socks that called for 2 needles and even with using a size 0 I cannot get gauge. Any tips? I would suggest just practicing tightening up your tension. Maybe that means wrapping the yarn around a finger differently while knitting, etc. I know if I want to tighten up I wrap the yarn twice around my pinky vs once around.
@ thank you. I will try that. I don’t why I have so much trouble with just this :).
Fun video
There are spots for Feb Yarnable
I don't remember, but did you mention a pattern for the cozy cup thing? That's beautiful & would like to try that. Happy New Year
I didn’t follow a pattern for it. I know Avery Lane Creations has a pattern for one almost identical to it.
So excited to watch this
Thank you for watching!❤️❤️❤️
Happy to see you back!!! What is the name if the blanket on the back of your chair?
It’s the Anthology Throw 🧶
how on earth did you knit a pair of fingering socks in 6 days, while knitting on a couple of other pairs?! i may have that wrong, but i think i’m close. but wow, you must either knit like lightning or do nothing else all day and night. you’re a total whiz! happy new year🥳! ps - ooops, if i’d listened just two seconds more, i would’ve heard you explain how you do it. so impressive!
Hallo from South Africa ❤. 92 pairs of socks is very impressive! At what speed do you walk on your treadmill to be able to knit?
I walk at an incline of 9 and a speed of 3.
@ great thanks!
Please where do you get the metal sock hangers ?
I got them on Amazon, I have them linked on my Amazon storefront. They do go out of stock a lot though. 🙃 www.amazon.com/shop/thecrazysocklady
And that’s why they call you the Crazy Sock Lady! Your socks are beautiful, awesome colours and so neat! A fabulous selection! Not forgetting your blankets which look awesome too! Lovely to have you back x
How do you adjust the sock pattern when using a dk weight yarn?
I’m following my DK weight vanilla sock pattern. All counts in that are for DK weight 🧶 🧦
@@CrazySockLadyhey thanks! ❤
You’re welcome! ❤️
So many socks --IMPRESSIVE!
Hey Kayla! I don't know if I'm the minority opinion, but still wanted to share. Although I think the new angle is nice, it is kind of distracting seeing the ring light reflected off the cabinet in the back. Kinda bright!
It’s not a ring light reflecting. I don’t use any kind of lighting. It’s the window. And no matter the angle now, that will reflect in the cabinet. 🙂
@@CrazySockLady Thank you for clarifying! I hope it didn't come off as rude
Hi
Do you ever mend socks if they get a hole? Especially if they are a favorite?
I’ve never had any get a hole in them. But if they did, I have so many…. I wouldn’t mend them. I would just make another pair.

Are all the socks you knitted in fingering weight because a couple of them look a bit thicker. I'm looking into knitting socks with DK this year. I need my socks to be thicker. Hope that works. Picture on wall looks like cross stitch counted of 3 women. Where did you find the picture? Wonderful socks.
My grandmother did the cross stitch.
