Hi everyone! Firstly dont watch this if it will spoil your visit yourself! i had permission to film here, in fact he was happy for me to film here in the hope that it will become a bit more known to tourists.
Basra Museum was one of Saddams many former palaces. Apparently there was more than 2,000 names of Saddam Hussein etched into the walls and woodwork when they started the renovations.
The previous Basra Museum was looted in 1991.
Im Not a Museum person at all when i travel, but figured there are some out there who will never get the chance to visit here , what is in this video is nothing compared to what you will see here if you come for yourself! Def worth the visit!

I think this is my 71st vlog in Iraq, and I paid a native Arabic speaker to translate all my vlogs , I had a couple of volunteers towards the end , but I think they realized just how long it took and didn’t want to do it anymore… so apologies in advance!

I'm from neighboring country Iran, never have been in Iraq, never met an Iraqi in person, but thanks to your videos now I've learned many things about the country and its people! now it is very hard to imagine that we used to be in war with this nation for more than 8 years! I myself born mid Iran-Iraq war, and the first thing I've learned about Iraq wasn't very positive and that stuck in my mind for long time, of course later I've learned that the people of Iraq were victims of the circumstances as well, but now I'm feel even closer toward them.
