      Hi....I just found you tonight and you're awesome! I would love to talk with you about your little Keychains. Our YTT is over in Dec.... and I'd like to get everyone a gift. I'm moving on to the 1000 hr Integrative Yoga Therapist program, but most of them aren't... and I would love to gift them this.

    Thank you for this video! I haven't thought about a 1-day retreat, it's a great idea it's even better than workshops bc my students do not always want to hear about philosophy or other stuff, they simply want to relax and spend timer together.

      Yes, mini retreats are so much fun. I wish I could do more of it, but it's just not in my current business plan. Perhaps in the future. I honestly love event planning. It's fun to get 3-4 topics or events and smush them into one day. Makes it a great experience for locals, or semi-local up to a couple hours away.

    Hi Ashley,
    Thank you so much. I used to teach in studios, Corp and private classes. Then went to a day job. Now getting back in the saddle at least part time in the evening. Thank you for all your help and generous offers. Very much appreciated. You've been super helpful.

It’s simple, not rocket science and yet I needed you to put it all in this fantastically executed video in order for me to see all the ways in which I can make money as a yoga teacher. I’ve added it all to a plan that will lead me to $5k months and I am so excited to start implementing. Thank you, Ashley!

    Ashley! Thank you so much. I’m teaching 14 group classes a week & getting paid $15 per class. I’m starting to think from all I’ve been reading, learning and just experiencing that I may need to ask for more.. I’m a new yoga teacher with a lot of experience, my classes are really well received and I get great feedback. But I also live in a small area and working at an unpopular yoga studio. I’ve formed great relationships with my students which keeps me here rather than going to more well known yoga studios… maybe I should start offering private classes as well. Thanks for your insight. Puts a lot into perspective for me!

    • @AshleyHagen
      @AshleyHagen  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Definitely see what more you can offer, or ask for a little more. $15 a class is really super low. I was teaching 10 classes a week at $30 per class base when I started in 2013. I also taught 4 or 5 at other gyms that paid $20-25 per class. And even that was just enough to make it by in my super cheap apartment as a single person supporting only myself in a really low cost of living area (Fargo, ND). I would also "donate" plasma twice a week for $70/week and pick up odd jobs and projects when possible. Workshops and series are also a great option. Now that I'm in the Seattle area, there's no way I could even make it by with $30/class. Adding online courses and memberships have been life saving.

    I’d like to discuss the kinds of offerings that would go into $1000 high ticket online yoga or dance for program.

  • @Summer20032
    @Summer20032 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Im impressed by the prices you’ve mentioned for yoga classes, in my area I know only one yoga teacher whom does yoga classes, there’s no one else, she changes £30 for 4 classes, it’s less then minimum wages per hour, she teaches in every local community centre, I have thought in start to teach but I think no one would go take my classes if I charge more then she does, and I think that £7.5 for a class is just not enough.

    • @AshleyHagen
      @AshleyHagen  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you have a lot of people attending, it might be enough. Maybe she does it for fun and doesn't necessarily need additional income. You can definitely charge more. Don't base your prices off of hers. Good luck!

    So helpful. So currently I am teaching one class weekly 30 mins for free on Mondays just to get myself use to teaching yoga. I have placed an order to sell my own yoga straps also working on journals also. Looking for how to actually sell my straps online without a website. I am volunteering with a non-profit to teach yoga classes which turn into a paid gig after I fullfill more hours. Where can I get info for yoga related affiliate info?

    • @AshleyHagen
      @AshleyHagen  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      When I'm talking about affiliates, I'm more talking about becoming an affiliate with companies and promoting their products. If you have your own products and want to add affiliates to sell them for you, there are some episodes on my favorite podcast I remember listening to with this exact info. Maybe look those up. My favorite business/marketing podcast is Build Your Tribe with Chalene Johnson. There is an episode or two on how to add affiliates to sell your products. Look up "Build Your Tribe Affiliate" in a podcast app and a lot of episodes will come up.

    Do you have a video on how to start with teaching privates? It's such a different dynamic

    • @AshleyHagen
      @AshleyHagen  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. I do not teach privates, nor do I have much personal experience with it in the past. I could provide a few tips on the advice I’ve heard and read. But I’m definitely not the go-to private yoga teacher coach.

  • @gizembozer8743
    @gizembozer8743 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey Ashley, thank you so much. Currently I am giving private lessons and also one online group yoga class. But I am really concerned that what if they stop taking classes. So, I am not a yoga teacher in any yoga studio for now. Should I really be, do you think it is more safe?

    • @AshleyHagen
      @AshleyHagen  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Safe? I'm not so sure about that. It's a little more reliable to teach for a studio, but won't be as financially lucrative. Many studios are still struggling, too. It's great experience, though. Always god to have a back-up plan. Teaching on your own, work on marketing to attract new students, and doing what you can for retention of current students. It's inevitable that students will stop, or move, or change jobs, or any number of things. Have a plan set in place that you know how to replace the students that leave.

    Do you still make/sell the yoga keychains? They are adorable!!

    • @AshleyHagen
      @AshleyHagen  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have a bunch made (maybe like 100), but I'm not sure I'd be able to keep up with the demand if I offered them again this year. My audience is at least 10x bigger now. So I'm questioning whether or not to sell them again. Or keep them as gifts for the people who invest in my courses.

  • @CobraFlows
    @CobraFlows 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How much have you made teaching private lessons?

    • @AshleyHagen
      @AshleyHagen  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      $0. I don't choose to teach private yoga lessons. I have seen and heard a lot of yoga teachers have great success with private lessons, though. And many who swear that it is the best way to earn a full-time income as a teacher. I choose instead to focus on group coaching and online courses and that works really well for me. And I really love teaching group classes.

    Can you be 100% virtual yoga instructor and make good income,or is this something you see more profit with in person?

    • @AshleyHagen
      @AshleyHagen  ปีที่แล้ว

      From my experience, online yoga teaching is a lot easier to make more money because you have most of the world as your potential audience. In person has a lot more limits, especially in a small town. It's hard either way, but it's possible. I see a lot of people succeeding both in person and online.
