thank you Chris... hoping you can make it up north on one of our overlanding rides this year.... if not, we'll just have to make it a point to come south for the winter and ride with the FL Trail Stompers again.
I have a Hipcamp site a few miles down stream of Stoney if any of you Jeep guys ever want a private remote campsite after riding Stoney. Be glad to have some folks in the offroading community.
Thank you TrailExpedition... As you know, it takes alot to film and edit our content so getting words of appreciation always adds a smile. I just popped on your channel real quick. Man, from first glance, you have some amazing content. I subscribed today and can't wait to jump in and check out some of your adventures. As a growing channel, I am always looking to draw inspiration and creative ideas (photography angles, transitions, etc) form other accomplished TH-camrs. I am looking forward to learning much from your channel.
@@RoadRashOffRoad thanks man, I appreciate those kind words as well. I’m constantly learning from other TH-camrs as well and your intro for this video was 🔥. Definitely held my attention to keep on watching. I’ve yet to do Stoney Lonesome but it’s on my short list of places to visit.
It’s a fun park and pretty scenic. If you ever make it down this way, we’ll meet you over there. It’s only 2.5 hrs from us. Then you can pick up Beasley Knob while you are here. You’re in Michigan? We have several trips coming up in KY this year. Turkey Bay and DBBB. Any of those close to you?
@@RoadRashOffRoad yup! In Michigan and still need to get Beasley Knob as well. I’ve done Turkey Bay and it’s an awesome area. I actually had more fun exploring the land between the lakes area more than anything. A lot of old family cemeteries in that area. I have two videos on it. My next bigger trip will probably be Windrock. I’ve been there once years ago but cannot wait to go back!
@@TrailExpedition I will defiantly check out your videos on the Land Between The Lakes. I've seen some highlights on other video and it is absolutely stunning. I'll be hitting Turkey Bay just for the badges but will likely spend most of my time at the Lakes. I did Windrock last year.... Shot a similar video there as our recent Stony Lonesome video. Windrock is probably one of my favorite parks to go play on. it is vast and so much to do (and relatively close to me)
Nice video man! One point of clarification, you were on 502 up until about the 15 min mark. Switchback starts with the first steep climb up to the first actual Switchback.
thank you for the compliments and also for the clarification. I did not know. Because I was in a large group I was following, the chatter on the radio said Switchback so I just assumed we were starting...
Excellent video, an hour of off roading!!! I can’t imagine how much you had cut in editing. The music set the tones. As you were approaching 404, climbing Gut buster, playing around on little Moab at the end. Great editing, love the audio choices. Had to be countless hours of work syncing all that up. Great job. Then you came limping home with a failed power steering and 2 badges!
I already knew Gutbuster is pretty much impossible even for the most equipped rigs. Needs to be removed from the BOH program. But this video makes me even contemplate even going for the other 2 now. I'm only on 35s with a 2.5" lift and no lockers. Great video nonetheless but I may need to reevaluate lol
Thank you Sarge. Overall, Stoney Lonesome is a fun park with nice camping. There is ALOT to do there. Technically, 404 Trail is super easy and short… but the trial is we took to get there was quite difficult. There may be other trails to get to 404 but the one we took was a bit adventurous. Same with Switchback… the trail itself is not difficult but the trail to get to Switchback had some challenges. If you wanted the badges, your Jeep could probably do Switchback and 404. Just be a bit more intentional on choosing the trails that get you there
@@RoadRashOffRoad should check out 600-1 talladega trail , it’s fun with a view but can be very difficult during the summer when it’s been raining! But appreciate the info!
@@RoadRashOffRoad yelp it’s fun, sheriff travels it daily in a side by side but does recommend lifted and a 4x4 to do the whole trail, took us 1hr and a half to do half of it , had to turn around due to weather, but good trail not many know about . And 600-2 trail connects to it , it’s a bit easier, but at the very beginning it’s a little intimidating lol little steep
That is the Stinger High10. It’s a really good unit… a bit pricey but I went through 2 other Amazon radios trying to throw something in there cheaply just for Apple CarPlay and neither of them lasted more than 2 months. I got fed up and decided to but the bullet on a brand that offered a warranty. Thankfully, i have not needed it because it has been a really good unit and has no issues.
We did camp there. There is alot of camping there, open and not congested. They even have "facilities" on the property. For an OHV park, the camping is very nice. If you are going with your wife, they also have small cabins you can rent if she doesn't like to tent camp.
thank you Malcom. and I completely agree with you. However I am sure you have ridden with large groups before as I have. Because of this, you also know there are spotters in the group that you trust more than anything and I will listen to them even if they drive me off a cliff... and then there are chefs in the kitchen who like to "try and spot" because they've seen someone else do it before. Some large group have too many chefs in the kitchen... I know which one to listen too because I trust him and he knows my driving style and capabilities.
They recently did. This video was shot about 2 months before they took it off. Gut Buster is not available on the BOH app any longer, probably because it's not passable
My jeep, Road Rash is 35's, 4" lift, no lockers.... Lockers is defiantly in my near future. I just need some $$$ to do this. I would also like to re-gar at the same time since we will already be in the pumpkin. However I am not a huge "rock crawler". I enjoy going with my friend from time to time but I really enjoy overlanding, exploring and adventuring most (trying to avoid trouble, not find it). While lockers are a much needed add, its a little less pressing for an overlander.
@@RoadRashOffRoad Maybe just install limited slips in both axles. That way you are still able to daily drive it comfortably and have some needed traction when it is called for on the obstacles.
Awesome video as always RoadRash. Stony lonesome is an epic ride.

I had all intentions too…. Until I got there and said NOPE!
We had one jeep on 40’s that hit it hard, but even he winched ALL DAY

I feel like I’ve seen this Jeep in bull run/iron gap..I think Justin’s Jeep
That’s right. This is Justin Kemp with DeepSouth 4x4. His jeep, IBEX is probably one of the most capable jeeps I’ve ever seen
What center screen is that you have showing all your gauges.

What’s the gladiator? Looks like 2” MOPAR lift with…35s? Is it an unbadged Rubicon?
You are correct. Stuart has a 2" lift on 35's.. it is a Rubican and he gave that jeep hell on this trip
