The only time 2.4Ghz is preferred over 5Ghz is when your router is far away from you and there are walls in between. 2.4Ghz can penetrate walls easily and you'll get a better connection with it.

I was always using a wired connection but recently I moved to a new house and was forced to use WiFi and I had a cheap Wi-Fi adapter like the one shown at the beginning of the video and it was giving me max 10mbps which sucked a lot.
After watching this video I bought a TP-link Wi-Fi adapter (not the same model but the upgraded one as it was on sale & only a few $_$ more) and when I did my 1st-speed test after installing it, I got 200+mbps (freaking insane). I would highly recommend it over those cheap ones (I own 2 different models of cheap adapters & they both suck).
Hey bro I’m in kinda same situation need a wired conn but I’ve to use wifi and cheap adapter failed. I was a know if I buy such adapter will they have better reception range? What you felt in your exp do better adapter work more away from main router?

Change WIFI antenna angles/positioning, that also helps a lot in getting better coverage/speed.
I have 200mbps plan and I get 200 on wifi with MSi B550 Pro VDH WI-FI Motherboard.
@Fitstar WorksHaven't installed windows 11 yet because it still isn't stable to use many glitches and bugs are still there to fix. So not upgrading to Win11 for some time at least

I think so lan cable is the best solution when u have low budget motherboard without any integrated wifi
I personally don't think wifi mobo isn't best unless it's on wifi 6. but it doesn't come cheap. I use tp-link t2u ac 600, The second wifi adapter use in the video and I get remarkable speed. I easily get 120 Mbps speed on the 150 Mbps connection. My router is in a different room and separated by 2 walls in between with a few meters of distance.

I connect my android phone to my PC using a USB cable and it turns into a temporary wifi dongle for my PC. Best Free and cheap way to access wifi on a PC. It's funny that even tech TH-camrs are not aware of this and not suggesting such tips.

Then I switched back to LAN though..
