Good to see more of Sidious’ thoughts and considerations! I wish we would get more of this in a tv series where we would follow Sidious day by day. Also good to see the vulnerability of the Sith lords in this chapter.
Found your channel whilst looking for an audiobook of Darth Plagueis. Binge watched all 9 episodes in two days and I couldn't wait for the next episode. Instant subscriber.
I like how in chapter 19 James Luceno gives us insight on how Palpatine has studied and trained in the dark side of the force, as it is a similar way that darth Bane took during his training to become sith as described in Path to destruction. Both were left to their own devices by their masters. Leaving them to use ancient texts and knowledge left by previous sith. When all was said and done both left their mark on sith and galactic history. It's like poetry and it rhymes perfectly.
Fun fact about the Gran, they dominated the Dug species on Malastare and that's why anyone in high places from Malastare were usually the Gran. And also, I recently finished the death troopers audiobook you did, and damn, I wish we could get a star wars horror movie based on either death troopers or red harvest.
You showed up in my feed earlier this week, and I couldn't be happier!! You've definitely made my days in front of the computer less mind-numbingly boring! I'm a HUGE Legends fan and for my money the original Thrawn trilogy is a masterpiec, but don't sleep on Karen Traviss's contributions to Mando'a! The Republic Commando series is amazing and hasn't had any official audiobook releases. Do your thing. Thanks for all the entertainment Kandosii!
Regarding the comment about the Dark Side playing the long game. I love it! I have long considered that the "plot armor" moments such as the gunner who decided to let that escape pod go cuz it had no life forms and the general poor marksmanship of all the Stormtroopers to be visible accounts of The Force enacting its own will so it makes perfect sense to me that the Dark Side would do the same👍
Another great episode 👏. Was interesting to see the loyalty palp showed when plagueis was almost assassinated. Surprising considering what we know about him .
I come here for the starwars reads and dude you are making my inner child scream with joy!! Please dont stop with the audio books! Ps id love to see you read the darth bane trilogy
Found this while looking for audiobooks... I must say your voice acting and overall attitude throughout the stories has made this one of the most enjoyable experiences for me! Count me in as a Fulcrum Knight from now on
Hi from the great state of Maine again. Thank you for reading my comment. The Boba Fett voice was spot-on great. Remi has 6 sisters, them and their mother and I sat around the TV and heard you read the comment it was great thank you very much. Keep up the good work.
Found this channel a few weeks ago! Great work, my friend! Representing the Workforce. I work on a cannabis farm, and these stories really help to pass time while doing plant work and making hash! I have been reading star wars battle front twighlight company. Would be great to see that on the channel.
Yes! Yes!! Yes!!! It feels like a lifetime since the last one. I listened to all your star wars books. Just started red dwarf. Keep up the great work brotha!!!
Harry, I specifically looked for an audiobook of Plaugueis and found your channel. Love the voices and listen while I’m polishing stone for work. Fell down the rabbit hole as I binged this, Allegiance, Both Boba books, and Red Harvest. Glad to join the order.
I’d eagerly awaited this one. Thank you. Regarding past discussions of voices, I wanted to offer a few more observations. Your young Palpatine, especially when indignant or contemptuous, oddly sounded to me just like Colin Baker in his days of playing Doctor Who. Tenebrous was Bela Lugosi (or The Count on Sesame Street) and I could easily hear Plagueis as based on Vincent Price. Where the latter goes astray is that Vincent Price, despite being American, had a non-rhotic, trans-Atlantic accent. But listening more closely to your Plagueis, he sounds like the campy, snarky hilarious Paul Lynde, who is perhaps best known as the center square on the American game show, Hollywood Squares. Once I’d heard that I now can’t hear anything else. Not when I go back and listen to the earlier chapters. Your voice for Palpatine has definitely evolved. One last thing: do you know the BBC radio play "Aliens in the Mind"? It’s easy to find online. It started out with the aim of being a Doctor Who story but ended starring Vincent Price and Peter Cushing. I think many here would appreciate it
Serendipitously, a collection of Vincent Price radio shows was released this week, leading me to question my previous remarks. th-cam.com/video/wcuO9fMaPoM/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUedmluY2VudCBwcmljZSBsYXRlIGxhdGUgaG9ycm9y Google results agree in labeling Price’s accent transatlantic but to my ears it’s a bit more complicated. I also looked again at the Saturday Night Live sketches featuring Bill Hader as Vincent Price. Although I’ve long been a fan of Hader’s impressions, this one never seemed to me to be among his best. Hader really seems to emphasize the r-sounds. It’s occurred to me that there’s something that tempts me to call Price’s voice "nasal" but then it wasn’t really nasal the way Paul Lynde’s was. I want to say that he’s using resonances that singers call "head tone". That’s different from nasal. Anyway, I doubt this is all that helpful, though I hope it is. Regardless, I definitely want to express my appreciation for the effort and quality of your work
I’m glad to have found this channel. I was originally looking for the audiobook of this story primarily to share it with some friends of mine who haven’t read it, but also to give it a listen again myself since it’s been quite a long time. I couldn’t find the long videos of the original narration, but you have provided a great new audiobook version. I do have the playlist saved in anticipation of however many parts are left to go and in case I want to come back at a later time to listen again.
I drive a FedEx truck and am always looking for good content and stumbled across your channel. I rarely subscribe to any channels but you do a great job and definitely earned my subscription! I was distraught when I got to the end of this video and realized I have caught up with you. Can't wait for the next one. Keep up the good work!
Really enjoying this book, young Palpatine is actually a scary dude!! Sometimes I feel like he's the one pulling strings and playing everyone including plagues,,
Brand new subscriber and I would just like to say your readings are amazing. I finished all of this series so far in just a couple days. Had to switch to Death Troopers and finished it in a long shift at work. Keep it up. Look forward to the next video.
Its interesting to see the difference in training between jedi and sith. The jedi seem to be more parental while the sith are more animalistic; sink or swim. Ive been very busy lately with moving into my new place and getting ready for my girlfriend to come up and getting ready for hunting season, listening to you read really helps when i feel lonely and bored, so thank you very much Sir Harry. By the way I think my Sith name would be Darth Pertinax (Pertinax meaning stubborn) if I want something its very hard to get me to change my mind or abandon it, which serves me very well.
Your work is amazing! I listen to alot of audio books and you make a really nice change to AI voices. Found you through this book and have already listened to death troopers and red harvest waiting for the next plagueis part. All glory to the Fulcrum Knights!
I love both the subtle uses of the force like Mara Jade in that interrogation from the book you read before on the channel and crazy stuff like ripping out people's spines or pulling star destroyers out of the sky. It's the mix of things that the force can do that makes it so interesting, you never know what you're going to get. In the words of one of my favorite TH-camrs DWK "sometimes you want to lie next to a woman who means the world to you and feel your heart flutter in your chest as she gently kisses your lips and says "I love you and I'll never leave you" and sometimes you just want another 20 milligram Oxy and a line of coke. There's a time and a place for everything" lol😂
I like that force powers can be both subtle and extreme. For me, it comes down to the force user themselves and how who they are as a character informs the way they use their powers in certain situations. The ones who prefer subtlety are still capable of the more overtly brutal methods, but simply prefer not to resort to them. Then there's rage monsters like Sidious who absolutely love going full bloodlust mode and slaughtering everything around them, at least when the situation allows it. There's more reserved and elegant dark siders like Dooku who prefer precision, frosty discipline and a no excessive or wasteful exertion of power approach. I think Plagueis ranks somewhere between those two extremes when it comes to flexing his powers.
@the conquerorGPWM literally typed in Star Wars audio books after listening to the Darth Bane stories and stumbled on part one and I myself instantly spammed thru all the videos on my hour + drive to and from work and now literally am excited for each car ride and now they go by way too fast compared to how long they used to seem I too subscribed and hope for a shout out in one of the upcoming videos I am now listening to Death troopers to fill in the time
Darth Aquarius inputting my voice now that I have finally caught up in the series I first want to express my gratitude to the channel and the reader for entertaining me during my long travels to and from work these episodes help me get up in the morning and I rather enjoy my long car rides to and from work now more than anything It’s taken me some time to find a good audiobook to listen to while driving and now that I have caught up with in the series I find myself biting my nails and hoping I don’t run out of episodes during my morning travels thank you for all you do in this channel and I hope maybe I can get a shout out would really mean a lot to me and make my day during my trips listening to you
Star Wars Red Harvest Orchid voice??? Sounded like Glomer from a cartoon I watched when I was a kid (that would have been in the 1980's). You also kind of sounded like Sir Patrick Stewart when talking about encouraging reading.
I like that Palpatine had this insane power and brutality in the Force which has always been there we just don't see it because he knows he will not always have to show it. Like in "Return of the Jedi" Luke had no idea Sith lighting was a thing or possible and if he did Palpatine depending on Vader as lapdog made it unbelievable, both Palpatine and his Sith Master Plagueis have insane levels of power but are smart enough to hide it from the Galaxy killing all that see it so no one will no of their Force powers and think the only power they have is political. The greatest trick the Devil can pull is to fool the world he does not exist the greatest trick a Sith Lord can pull is that they are not a Sith Lord but ordinary been obtaining power like most beans in the Galaxy do through politics not letting you know they have Force powers tail they kill or like Yoda in "Revenge of the Sith" it is to late to stop them.
Well I hope your doing alright and all is well with you “man who reads these stories” gotten quite concerned now that you haven’t posted any plaguis chapters in some weeks now just wanted to hope your doing alright and will return with more chapters soon
Fun fact: Sate Pestage would later on become Palpatine’s chief advisor and grand vizier of the Empire, and even succeed him for a short time after Endor
Plagueis thinks too hard about midi-chlorians. They actually did manipulate an influential Jedi to start the Clone Wars, it just had nothing directly to do with Midi-Chlorians. Nice Gollum impression, btw!
as a south african i must say your accent isn't bad. that being said.... it's pronounced MYOON.... from the planet MYOON•il•ist. thé second "n" in Muunilinst is silent. love the vids but the nerd in me won't allow me to let the pronunciation slide.
...wtf was that ! this book had to be made as movie or series. but all we have is a bunch of kids on accolyte. i hate disney, more than palps hates the jedi.
Damn that got wild. Plagueis nearly getting whacked was certainly unexpected. These Maladian Assassins are quite capable.
Palpatine kicking some ass in that chapter. Great job Harry 👍
Good to see more of Sidious’ thoughts and considerations! I wish we would get more of this in a tv series where we would follow Sidious day by day.
Also good to see the vulnerability of the Sith lords in this chapter.

Ditto 😂
Pretty much the same story for me. 🤙
Hahahaha so did I now we have to wait 1 or 2 weeks for5 just for one or, maybe two chapters if we are lucky 😂😕
Similar to how I found the channel, the next step is go through the backlog like death troopers and red harvest. =p
Legit already have listened to EVERYTHING else he has while now waiting for next darth plaguis part lmao

Once again, well done. Great work with voices and accents.

Been checking every night for this new chapter. One of my favorite books of all time read it a couple times already! Thank you for your hard work!

The end was exceptionally violent and brutal. He wacked all their cows and calves, if you get my drift.

Your work is amazing! I listen to alot of audio books and you make a really nice change to AI voices. Found you through this book and have already listened to death troopers and red harvest waiting for the next plagueis part.
All glory to the Fulcrum Knights!
Witch do you all prefer, cannon or legends? This has been by far my favorite book of the wars. Changed my entire outlook on the jedi and sith
I agree with you Matthew, this is my favorite stand alone star wars book and it only gets better till the end.
I love both the subtle uses of the force like Mara Jade in that interrogation from the book you read before on the channel and crazy stuff like ripping out people's spines or pulling star destroyers out of the sky. Plagueis used force repulse when fighting the assassins. But controlled in a wave, unlike Starkiller. Interesting.
yes!
