As a recently retired individual who left the profession of working with kids , I would say the administration of most of these schools include people who you wouldn’t allow to be in charge of a latrine detail in Boot Camp. The rot is at the top and this is where the most inefficient teachers end up because they dislike teaching/kids but they like the extra money. Granted, we do have some leaders, but they are few and far between. Plus, our national union leaders are a joke

i blame teachers and all staff principal , vice principals guidance councelers i blame the janitors . everybody should be replaced ... nobody should earn over 50.000 till grades are up way up and then a small raise
Blame the janitors? FYI I work as a school janitor, and i will tell you that we just work there. Believe me if we could change these problems with kids today we would do so in a second. It starts with the parenting at home which seriously lacks nowadays. Another problem is these administration's have people by the balls preventing them from raising a hand. If the principal of the last school i worked at did not have the burden of administration on his back he would be dragging kids into that office. As for people with PHD's they always think they know everything about raising children, but i would never take advice from them.
Your child is lucky. I hope we get back to educating all children.
If you love your children remove them from Government School, anything else is child neglect or abuse. There are other options with proven success.
The solution is home school or private school. It could be a financial burden but it’s worth it if you love your children.

The kids should be taught what we learned in the sixties. You know like civics and the different branches of government. Reading writing and arithmetic. Let's not forgot about the history of this great Nation.

It's easier to teach that than math, science, english or history. Plus then they have learned a systemic way to use race as a scapegoat and avoid any personal responsibility.
It's not so much the woke teaching, it's more like the woke teachers, refusing to enforce standards, even if they are failing, they are complemented and rewarded. Until the children actually believe that they are great, despite the fact that they are a total failure.

That's such an unacceptable level of performance, it must be ask, maybe the reason is the Teachers themselves don't have command of the subject.
You don't need different approaches to math. Math is numbers, and while there is always more than one way to figure out a problem, numbers don't lie and they don't discriminate. The issue is the parents as much as it is the schools. Parents need to parent their children. They need to make sure that they're doing their homework, instead of running around with their buddies doing God knows what

Very succinct... poor education diminishes "opportunity" and leads to increased crime. The popular "lowering" of educational standards makes the "pursuit of happiness" all that more difficult. This is the core difference between the Equity over Equality agenda.
My HS freshman is in year 2 of an Acton Academy. Look for one in your area.

Why isn’t there a resource for parents to test their own children whenever they want to? Why can’t I go to Amazon and order a math test for a fifth grader and just see what he knows. That should be readily available for parents.
