I am sorry but Autumn Vibes is one of the best in the line. Initially I thought it smells like an old basement but after spraying it on the skin, everyone gives me so many compliments. It is incredible. However, springtime in the park smells simply cheap - it is old school, very unoriginal and quite expensive for what it is. I am sad to hear that Whispers in the Library is discontinued, personally I love it much more than By the fireplace.
I love Coffee Break. I feel cozy when I wear it. Also a fan of Matcha Meditation, Bubble bath and By the Fireplace. I need to get a bottle of Whispers in the Library while I can, I prefer it over Jazz Club.

I find the Maison Margiela fragrances to smell strongly but have a short lifespan. Although, I only have my experience to go by. I might just be nose blind and it actually still projects. The brand uses a lot of naturals in their fragrances.
My favorites are At The Barbers and Jazz Club. Don't see Jazz Club being discontinued anytime soon. I'm a little worried about At The Barbers. If it is discontinued, MFK Masculin Pluriel is almost identical (although more expensive). So I'll get that one.
Of all the Replicas I have tried, I do like Coffee Break and By the Fireplace the most. But, not enough to buy a bottle especially if the whole line is going to go up to $160. I do want to sample On a Date though...Thanks 😊
At The Barber’s is my go-to Spring/Summer fragrance and I also believe it’s been discontinued. That said, all the discounters appear to have plenty in stock. While I have a full bottle, I’m contemplating buying several bottles and not opening them till necessary. In your estimation, if I kept new bottles, “factory” sealed, could I rely on the fragrance not losing any of its notes if it were to stay closed and in a cool dark space for a few years?
On a Date sounds great, but I prefer to try Dom Rosa, and now that you mentioned that is discontinued I need to buy a bottle Whispers in the Library before it cost an arm or a leg. I only have Beach Walk I love it, on my skin is nuclear, lasts two days even after shower. I want By the Fireplace, Jazz Club, Music Festival and Matcha meditation. Thank you Sebastian!!!
Good news Whispers apparently isn't discontinued. It's in their memories sample pack which is their top 10 frags, that's a good sign that it's selling well. Think it was just out of stock everywhere for awhile.
I didn’t think I would like the floral but because of the wine notes I don’t get heavy floral and I like it very much! I bought a full bottle & $160 is high for an eau de toilette. Staying power is about 6 hours but not strong. It was one of the few blind buys for me and I’m pleased with it 👍🏼 (except the price). I enjoy Coffee Break & wear it to work often and it always gets compliments. My fav from the house is Jazz Club.
Yeah this fragrance probably isn't for me but Beach Walk is one of my favorite fresh summer fragrances! Oh yeah. Also By the Fireplace is so good. Bummer about the discontinued ones
I'm surprised you didn't like Jazz Club! Just got a bottle of it for the holidays. I didn't think much of it until I got a travel size and gave it a true wear. I think the next one I want to really explore is Coffee Break. But I also want a bottle of Amethyst Haze by Carolina Herrera, and I know they vibe with each other, but the CH one lasts longer. I am also disappointed they got rid of their EDPs. Didn't get to try any, but some I saw on Fragrantica sound amazing. Ugh.
I did a review on this fragrance and I decided to let it sit until spring. The moss and vetiver gives this a really musty smell right now but as it’s been sitting the rose and black currant are coming more to the forefront. For me a much better and more realistic red wine note is in Bloody Wood.
Agreed! I'm so glad they launch a solid one once again after the last ones being so underwhelming, but the price is too high for a fragrance with that level of strength...
I love Coffee break! The lavender note works unexpectedly well in my opinion. It really doesn't last though and I feel like the only ones with justifiable price tags nowadays are Jazz club and By the Fireplace.
Great insight! I've tested 4 frags from them and I've recommended By The Fireplace to my sister-in-law. Matcha meditation is a very nice photorealistic scent. I don't get the hype with Jazz Club tho. To me it's quite generic... just like with Sailing Day. Cheers!
Im not big on rose forward fragrances but this is quite lovely however i will only get the travel size and when sephora is having its 20% sale. Theres no reason for there to be a price hike when its not a EDP. if this one came intense compared to the others then the higher pricing would make sense. Get it together MM!
OK, so now I know what I was smelling. I sampled it at Sephora and was going to get it but waited for the dry down, which was not as good as I had hoped. I love the opening and couldn't place the scent. Now I know it is the fizzy wine and black currant that I was smelling. Of course, I love chypres. I prefer beefy scents so the fact that it is an EDT is a problem. I might just get a small amount first to live with it. But, the first impression was lovely. I have By the Fireplace and Under the Lemon Trees. I like both, but especially the former. I use the Lemon Trees as a topper for Lira, as the citrus wears off Lira right away. These are pricey for EDTs, which I typically avoid, but these two are worth it to me. Thanks, Sebastian.
I went to sample it today after this video. Two sprays on my hand, even after washing I can still smell it. It’s very nice but definitely not worth the high price tag. But the 10ml size id purchase
I just happened to sample "On a Date" yesterday! I'm not super experienced in fragrances, but my immediate thought was that it was sweet and rosey, and reminded me a lot of Lush's "Rose Jam".
I love Coffee Break. The Lavender has a calming feeling, whenever I wear it. I blind bought Whispers in the Library, I'm glad I did. I really like it. The first time I tried On a Date, I didn't like it. But I was trying all of the scents from the Discovery Set back to back. I think it was fragrance overload. I tried it a few days later & I liked it, not love. I bought a travel size, when the Maison Margiela site had a sale. I also like Lazy Sunday Morning, it layers well with Coffee Break & it's a nice bedtime scent, too.

I love the opening, but unfortunately after about an hour or 2 I smell like a litter box; which is so disappointing because the opening is so nice. My favorites are Music Festival and Wicked Love.
Margiela might be anticipating a high demand for this one, if keeping the others at the same price. Maybe related to the upcoming San Valentine's together with the fragrance's concept involving "dates."
I'm not really a fan of floral notes along with coffee. If I'm gonna wear a coffee scent, I want it to be as realistic as possible. I sampled coffee break and didn't care for it. My fave coffee scents are Cafe de Dua and Cafe de Dua 2.0. The 2.0 has a great croissant note in there to me. Thanks for all your reviews!
I love By the Fireplace and Bubble Bath! However, my favorite perfume I ever sampled was the now discontinued Across Sands by MM. I'm devastated that I never purchased a bottle--especially as I wore it on my wedding day. If anyone has a recommendation for a similar fragrance, I would love to know!
I adore Across Sands, and after months of searching I was able to get a brand new bottle. I would just keep searching if I were you. I havent been able to find anything similar, although I have heard that Oil Perfumery makes a pretty close roll on oil.
I won’t buy a perfume if it’s not priced according to the materials and performance. Most Maison Margiela don’t do much for me with the exception of by the fireplace which I really like. I’m surprised Jazz Club didn’t register on your top ten! I don’t care for it much but I like it more than some of the others that made the cut. I’ll smell the new one as I like classic fragrances but probably won’t buy it because the price is inappropriate.
My favorite two Replica fragrances are Lipstick On and By the Fireplace. I also really enjoy Bubble Bath for a unique freshie. Still need to get my nose on Jazz Club. Great list!
Have been trying to get my hands on whispers in the library and failed 😞 I own by the fireplace, coffee break, matcha meditation and bubble bath, love them all! Longevity of by the fireplace and matcha meditation is pretty good on me, 8+ hours, the other 2 perform slightly worse and become a skin scent after 4 hours or so, but they are definitely still there. Selfridges sell MM perfumes at a lower price, and I always get my bottles from them!
I only have three fragrances from this line: Beach Walk, Lazy Sunday Morning (long gone) and Tea Escape (also long gone). I do have some samples of a few others but not full bottles. Nevertheless, Sebastian, it was another good video and synopsis of what this house still has to offer. Thank you!
I’m very new to perfumery, just basically starting out and I bought replica “on a date” and Gucci “Bloom” together. So I do agree that “on a date” is a very weak perfume, very close to skin and even I can barely smell it after an hour or two (especially in comparison to Gucci). But I tried wearing them together and i like it a lot! Of course, it’s much more “bloom” dominates, but “on a date” adds freshness and fizziness to Gucci, making it more playful and fruity.
I just bought By the Fireplace yesterday at Sephora. I love the scent ❤ but tbh the performance is a bit under expectation. I sprayed on arm and clothe at night and just stay ed inside the room but the longevity is not much. I know, it is just EDT but several ETD perfumes offer a better long lasting.
Unrelated, but sort of reminds me of the new Fragrance Du Bois Cavort. On Fragrantica, it says, "An extremely intimate fragrance, reminiscent of the excitement before a first date."
Curious about the new release, waiting on my local Sephora to get it in to smell. I'd be willing to spend $200-$210 on a EDP of Whispers in the Library, Matcha Meditation, or Sailing Day. It's beyond annoying that the best releases are being discontinued. I'm still not over Tea Escape being discontinued.

Hello hope you see this. I’ve been going down the rabbit hole and trying Maison out. Not a fragrance pro here, just learning what I like. I found Sailing Day and When The Rain stops were my favorites from the ones I tried. Music Festival and By The Fire Place were my least favorite. I’m going to buy a new one but I’m not sure which one would be a great fit for me. I’m thinking On A Date or Springtime, which do you recommend???

My top three would be: 1 By the Fireplace, 2 Whispers in the library and 3 Lipstick on, although I must admit that I tend to use more Whispers in the library throughout the year because of its versatility, but now I'll have to restrain myself 🙈

I smelled on a date at sephora and was so happy I did. The dirty patchouli really erks my senses. Music festival suffered from the same funk. Sadly, I blind bought that one.
I'm probably not trying this. The reviews haven't been good and the fragrance looks like it's going to lean too far feminine for my liking. I do want to try some of their other fragrances because I have heard good things about the line. I may look to getting Whispers in the Library, but I'm not sure how much of it
Roucel certainly a master of creamy or powdery vanilla. He is a chemist after all. Really enjoy Matcha Meditation. But my fav remains Whispers in the Library! 🍒📚 And I PROMISE you it's not because I read a lot. Alright, maybe.🤭 But also because it layers really well with woody and spicy scents!
Maison Margiela has a special place in my heart for getting me into fragrances but it's definitely a house I want to get the bottles on a deal! Yay! Exciting 🙌🏻 I smelled MM "on a date" on a card at Sephora this weekend and I definitely got roses & rosé. It was interesting but not interested enough for a FB. Honestly, I haven't found any MM scents to be FB worthy 😬 I do own a traveller of coffee break -- which is my most liked, alongside jazz club & autumn vibes -- but while I like how it smells I honestly rarely ever reach for it. I've worn it at best 3x. Can't wait to hear your faves & opinions, handsomeness 😘

I've only tried the big 2 that are arguable the most popular from the house: Jazz Club and By the Fireplace. While I think they both smell great, I find their longevity to be a bit lacking, especially when most other spicy, warm scents last a long time. I think they are ok if you get them at a decent discount, but not for full retail. I wish I had gotten the chance to try their discontinued fragrance, Across Sands, as I've heard it was really impressive.
Oh, it's easy to understand part of the price hike. Harrod's? Right? UK? Right? Wrong. UK done brexit so it raised trade barriers and devalued its currency. Over here on the continent, prices have only risen just a bit on Margiela.

I adore Across Sands, and after months of searching I was able to get a brand new bottle. I would just keep searching if I were you. I havent been able to find anything similar, although I have heard that Oil Perfumery makes a pretty close roll on oil.

I will prioritize trying Autumn Vibes and forming my own opinion.
I won’t buy a perfume if it’s not priced according to the materials and performance. Most Maison Margiela don’t do much for me with the exception of by the fireplace which I really like. I’m surprised Jazz Club didn’t register on your top ten! I don’t care for it much but I like it more than some of the others that made the cut. I’ll smell the new one as I like classic fragrances but probably won’t buy it because the price is inappropriate.
My favorite two Replica fragrances are Lipstick On and By the Fireplace. I also really enjoy Bubble Bath for a unique freshie. Still need to get my nose on Jazz Club. Great list!

Have been trying to get my hands on whispers in the library and failed 😞 I own by the fireplace, coffee break, matcha meditation and bubble bath, love them all! Longevity of by the fireplace and matcha meditation is pretty good on me, 8+ hours, the other 2 perform slightly worse and become a skin scent after 4 hours or so, but they are definitely still there. Selfridges sell MM perfumes at a lower price, and I always get my bottles from them!
It’s way too sharp and woody for me, sadly. I love most rose scents, so I was disappointed.

I only have three fragrances from this line: Beach Walk, Lazy Sunday Morning (long gone) and Tea Escape (also long gone). I do have some samples of a few others but not full bottles. Nevertheless, Sebastian, it was another good video and synopsis of what this house still has to offer. Thank you!
Ahh Tea Escape is sooo good. I have Le Labo Matcha to slightly fill it’s void.
I’m very new to perfumery, just basically starting out and I bought replica “on a date” and Gucci “Bloom” together. So I do agree that “on a date” is a very weak perfume, very close to skin and even I can barely smell it after an hour or two (especially in comparison to Gucci). But I tried wearing them together and i like it a lot! Of course, it’s much more “bloom” dominates, but “on a date” adds freshness and fizziness to Gucci, making it more playful and fruity.
I just bought By the Fireplace yesterday at Sephora. I love the scent ❤ but tbh the performance is a bit under expectation. I sprayed on arm and clothe at night and just stay ed inside the room but the longevity is not much. I know, it is just EDT but several ETD perfumes offer a better long lasting.
Unrelated, but sort of reminds me of the new Fragrance Du Bois Cavort. On Fragrantica, it says, "An extremely intimate fragrance, reminiscent of the excitement before a first date."

Curious about the new release, waiting on my local Sephora to get it in to smell. I'd be willing to spend $200-$210 on a EDP of Whispers in the Library, Matcha Meditation, or Sailing Day. It's beyond annoying that the best releases are being discontinued. I'm still not over Tea Escape being discontinued.
Hi Sebastian, is the bottle of On A Date you purchased a refillable bottle? Maison Margiela's Replica line is supposedly moving towards sustainable packaging and making refill bottles. But I'm not sure if they are making ALL bottles refillable or just specific ones refillable. Thanks for the review!
Hello hope you see this. I’ve been going down the rabbit hole and trying Maison out. Not a fragrance pro here, just learning what I like. I found Sailing Day and When The Rain stops were my favorites from the ones I tried. Music Festival and By The Fire Place were my least favorite. I’m going to buy a new one but I’m not sure which one would be a great fit for me. I’m thinking On A Date or Springtime, which do you recommend???

How sad to learn that Whispers in the library is discontinued! 😢 I will cherish my bottle even more now that I know that! My top three would be: 1 By the Fireplace, 2 Whispers in the library and 3 Lipstick on, although I must admit that I tend to use more Whispers in the library throughout the year because of its versatility, but now I'll have to restrain myself 🙈

I smelled on a date at sephora and was so happy I did. The dirty patchouli really erks my senses. Music festival suffered from the same funk. Sadly, I blind bought that one.
Wipers in the Libray is a really good one. Strange, it must have not sold that well.

I'm probably not trying this. The reviews haven't been good and the fragrance looks like it's going to lean too far feminine for my liking. I do want to try some of their other fragrances because I have heard good things about the line. I may look to getting Whispers in the Library, but I'm not sure how much of it

Autumn Vibes is a vastly underrated release imo. Very nice Replica. Goes well on the shelf with Soul of the Forest.
Unfortunately I didn't like it.
I'm a fan of Autumn Vibes too. On me, it has more longevity than other Replica fragrances.
I tried, but I didn't like it at all.
Roucel certainly a master of creamy or powdery vanilla. He is a chemist after all. Really enjoy Matcha Meditation. But my fav remains Whispers in the Library! 🍒📚 And I PROMISE you it's not because I read a lot. Alright, maybe.🤭 But also because it layers really well with woody and spicy scents!

Maison Margiela has a special place in my heart for getting me into fragrances but it's definitely a house I want to get the bottles on a deal! I think they are too expensive for what they are but I still enjoy quite a few like coffee break, by the fireplace, matcha meditation, and autumn vibes. I'm trying to get a sample of whispers in the library even though it appears to be discontinued.

Yay! Exciting 🙌🏻 I smelled MM "on a date" on a card at Sephora this weekend and I definitely got roses & rosé. It was interesting but not interested enough for a FB. Honestly, I haven't found any MM scents to be FB worthy 😬 I do own a traveller of coffee break -- which is my most liked, alongside jazz club & autumn vibes -- but while I like how it smells I honestly rarely ever reach for it. I've worn it at best 3x. Can't wait to hear your faves & opinions, handsomeness 😘
I tried this in Sephora. Really liked it. But sad about it performance. Any suggestions for something similar that performs better? Big fan of floral musks
The opening notes of grape wine/moscato is refreshing the other notes fade away which is fine for me.
I've only tried the big 2 that are arguable the most popular from the house: Jazz Club and By the Fireplace. While I think they both smell great, I find their longevity to be a bit lacking, especially when most other spicy, warm scents last a long time. I think they are ok if you get them at a decent discount, but not for full retail. I wish I had gotten the chance to try their discontinued fragrance, Across Sands, as I've heard it was really impressive.
I get 10 hours out of my decant of by the fireplace.
I just purchased under the lemon tree and it was $160 as well. I think they all are I was definitely in sticker shock.

Oh, it's easy to understand part of the price hike. Harrod's? Right? UK? Right? Wrong. UK done brexit so it raised trade barriers and devalued its currency. Over here on the continent, prices have only risen just a bit on Margiela.
I'm speaking about USA prices even though I purchased mine in London at Harrods.
