Town of Salem holds a special place in my heart from those old ToS games Ze, Chilled, Galm, and Tom did. You always have the grounds for some very silly games. I really like this lobby of players, as you got people who are experienced and detail oriented like Chilled, Ze, and Kara, then sillier players who breathe charm into the session like Larry, Chibi, and Cheesy.
Edit: And Smarty. The old ToS games with Ze, Chilled, Galm, Tom, and Smarty.

@@unofficialhotelNo I'd actually call Chilled and Ze pretty detail oriented. Idk about Kara. I think Apple actually notices quite a lot. And Vikram is like a sleeper agent sometimes he randomly activates god gamer mode with his predictions

Here are the New/Changed roles in BetterToS2
Admirer: Accompany someone each night. The player you are accompanying now has Roleblock immunity, their visits are now Astral and they are cured of any negative effect. Accompanying someone will make Bodyguards and Trappers see them as a non harmful visitor
Psychic: swapped the visions around, Evil on even nights and Good on odd nights
Oracle: Select a town role, that role will be granted powerful defense if it is in the game
Trickster: Place a magic mirror in front of a player, if they are able to attack, they will attack the mirror and it will be absorbed by the mirror, then you can choose another player to unleash that attack on to them. When your attack target is revealed dead, the cause of death will be the role of who ever attacked your mirror. Unstoppable attacks will shatter the mirror and you can't attack another player
Banshee: Shriek at a player each night, the next day that player can't see chat or whispers to them, you can't choose the same player twice in a row. Gains basic attack when in possession of the Necronomicon
Dreamweaver: You can only drive town members insane
Baker: Give 3 types of bread to a player
White Bread: Gives your target Powerful Defense for a night
Wheat Bread: Reveal a players role and the role of anyone that visits them to Apocalypse members
Rye Bread: Roleblock a player, doesn't count towards Famine progress
Soul Collector: The player you visit in hopes of collecting their soul will appear as suspicious to investigative roles and as Soul Collector to roles that reveal, also if your target is lynched during the day after you tried to take their soul, you will get their soul afterwards
Auditor: Roleblock a player at night, you also steal any charges they may have left if they have any (EX: Audit a veteran, you've stolen 2 remaining alerts from your target). You can also smoke bomb your target to prevent them and any visitor from getting results at night, you will also now know your target's role. If all town roles die the Auditor leaves the town in victory
Inquisitor: You start the game with 3 heretic targets whom you know the roles of, one will always be a town role. You can then visit a player and inquire to check if they are one of your targets. You can vanquish them with a Basic Attack if you think or know if they are a heretic, but if you kill a non heretic, you lose the rest of your attacks. Once all 3 heretics are vanquished, you leave town in victory
Jackal: You start the game with 2 recruits who are linked to each other, these recruits are two players that have different win conditions, and now can no longer win with their original team and have to win with you. If one recruit dies, the other one does too. You gain a Powerful attack once both recruits die. If you're dead but the recruits are still alive at the end, you all win, if it's just you alive but the recruits dead, you all win.
Judge: Subpoena a player at night and learn their role. During the day, you can call court, which makes all chat messages anonymous while your messages with say "Court" at the start (EX: Court: This person is guilty). Votes are also anonymous and you get 2 extra votes, when all town roles die, the Judge leaves town in victory
Starspawn: Isolate a player at night starbounding them from visitors, you will learn the roles of anyone that visits, attacking roles are immune to this however. During the day you can activate Daybreak, which prevents all day abilities from being used, When all town roles die, the Starspawn leaves town in victory
Cursed Soul: You can actually win with this role with this mod as they're there own faction, while also creating some funny scenarios if the people you swap with then swap with an another town (EX: Cursed Soul swaps with Jailor, that player is now a Town Cursed Soul, the next night they end up swapping with a Doomsayer, that player is now a Doomsayer for the town and not Neutral Evil)

Jackal in this mod is actually really cool, I feel like the Among Us version should basically just be the same.
Chilled trying to control himself as an sk jackal and just not being able to is just hilarious. He must kill if he has button. Same as when he's veteran and trying to control alerts.
Don't ever put chilled in a bunker with the big red button. If it's between him and nuclear annihilation, Chilled will press that button

My brain is too fried to understand anything that happened in that last game. There was great comedy throughout, but man, I was just completely lost on what actually happened there.
I always look forward to ever ToS video and will continue to watch all future ones, but the ONE thing that I think kind of holds it back is its a steep learning curve even to understand from the audience, lol

Next time you play the mod, playing with some Neutral Pariah's (win con is to see town lose) would be super funny they can seriously spice up the game.
I know they had them on for at least part of the stream. There was some funny fuckery where the coven tried to conjurer the pariah and the pariah turned on them and worked for the town win out of spite
they had them on at the start of the stream but the end result was 100% coven wins except the one time they tried to kill kara as the pariah like three times and she sided with town out of spite. having essentially an extra invincible coven when theres not a big enough lobby for multiple bad factions just skews it a lot

@@therealHLY there was a couple of other coven losses too, that were down to Pariah not playing their role correctly. Including a Judge voting up the last coven on 4.

What is the Jackal role based on? Is it some kind of movie assassin or something? Why does the Jackal recruit? I want to get what they're trying to represent, here.
It's based on the jackal role from the other roles mod, which could convert anybody.

I think you need to have two cursed souls in a game for a cursed soul win to be viable.

What does Jackal do?
So if a Jackal spawns in a game, they recruit 2 random players that will become part of the jackal's team, recruiting is random and happens when the game starts.
Being recruited means you are life-linked to the other and do not win with your original faction. You MUST win with the jackal. The recruits know each other but not the jackal. I believe it always recruits a town and an evil role ( it doesn't have to be coven). If the recruits die, the jackal can then go out each night and assassinate with a powerful attack. (Roles that kill themselves like bodyguard can not be recruited)

I hope Vanilla TOS2 videos continue to be uploaded I don’t really think TOS works well with mods and calling it “Better Town of Salem 2” is just Rude and Entitled
What's so rude and entitled about it? Saying something is "better" is a matter of personal preference. The modder knows what they like.
Now, if I said something was better and you were *wrong* for thinking otherwise, then it could be argued that I'm being rude and entitled. 😛
@@Hawkenwhacker well judging by how broken the mod is with those goofs in the Chibi Marshall game I’d say it’s not a better experience since it just breaks the game and allows for things like the Coven to sell out their buddies to their jailor partner. Seems absolutely broken and unfair
@@Crystal_DylanI haven't gotten around to watching it just yet but what you describe sounds like it adds a lot more chaos into the mix. As far as experience, there is a difference between the one who is watching and the ones who are playing. It's possible they are enjoying themselves while you are not and that's ok. At the very least, they are able to try something new. At the time of this writing, I don't know if any of them made their feelings known in the video. Maybe some of them mentioned that they don't like it. Regardless, whether they continue to use it is up to them.
@@HawkenwhackerI don’t mind them trying new things I’m glad they are open to playing modded content. I just don’t want the modded stuff to take over vanilla. Like it’s fine with Among us because that’s so chaotic with mods but boring without mods. Town of Salem 2 isn’t boring without mods. At least not to me. I do wish TOS2 had more people willing to play anything but all any though
Two things, the mod is called Better Town of Salem. (Which is a continuation of the mod they had for the first game). So me throwing it in the title is just the mod name. Second, more options DOES make something better (For content creators at least) Just because you may not like something or we havent found the balance for something doesnt negate it or make it worse?
