    There should be a wanton noodle stall that is 60 years old, precedes this current hawker stall. It used to be in the old hawker which was torn down. It was located near an open space which had a huge chargrill, the lady owner’s husband worked in a noodle factory. They serve good noodles. They are Cantonese and serve the old wanton noodle style. Used to be quite famous in the Commonwealth area. Family run, 2 old ladies and her son.

      Yes yes.. I’ve heard of them and been looking for them. Anyone knows if they are indeed still around? Or have they retired 😕

      Yes , it is next to the playground in the old hawker centre . They are currently located within commonwealth crescent and across the fruit stall and , now run by the son and the stall name is called Jian Kang wanton noodle , yes it is very authentic and very old style and one of the best kept secret in Singapore!

      @@Genesingapore thank u, Chris. So good to know they are around... Thought they have might quit and not survived the hawker scene, as I don't see any news about them despite them being around for years.. Yes, I remember the old playground. BTW, I miss the hugely popular old schooled braised duck stall near them at the old hawker site. Do u know where they are? Their braised duck one of a kind... Been searching for them for years.. !

    Have been an avid supporter of Hammee burger for many years .used to wait for 2 hours for a burger during peak hours . Best time to come is around 3pm .Definitely the best beef burger around . Kinda miss their long fillet fish burger .

      Can see Kelvin is very merticulous about his burgers.. even right down to warming up the buns again right before plating.. just to get that perfect crisp

    Porridge was good till its price went exponentially in one to two years. Dont think the senior citizens living nearby can afford this hawker food now

    u can buy packet everything like japan...won tan mee in packet...others same.. as sg becomes world class n labor is most expensive all foods will per artifical n process....all older cooks will die away of gave up..young will b engineers-doctors ---accountants or civl service

    • @Piggypuggy
      @Piggypuggy  ปีที่แล้ว

      The problem is they don’t allow Malaysians who are willing be hawkers to take root here.. we can surely invite some good cooks over. Singaporeans already have it easy. Nobody wants to wake up at 4am and work 12 hours without holiday

    The Wanton noodle stall which the boss shy away from camera, his noodle so-so only. Nothing to hoo-haa at all. Rather the prawn noodle operated by lady boss worth trying

    • @Piggypuggy
      @Piggypuggy  ปีที่แล้ว

      They did ask nicely if I can omit them.. said theirs just common noodles.. but I guess there’s still always a demand for wanton mee anywhere. Cheer them on a bit.. I need to find the prawn noodles next time.. not the one beside hammees? Thanks bro

    • @mt23
      @mt23 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Piggypuggy Jian Kang Wanton Noodle is better, the prawn noodle stall is 2 stalls away from Jian Kang. Try early as the prawn noodle always sold out before 11am

    Ahh, but will we see the rise of legions of big arsed fans in this revitalised institution? Remember, the only way to stay the same is to keep on changing!

    • @Piggypuggy
      @Piggypuggy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmmm.. not sure if the ceiling structure permits.. but I’ve see medium sized ones rising from the grounds at Changi hawker centre.. an odd but interesting sight to see yellow intermittent poles

      Let's see , Piggy. CCM&FC looks like a good alternative to Holland Drive as the terminus of my anticipated rail trail adventure. If nothing else, I've been to Holland Drive and the roast at Foong Kee looks unbeatable.
      BTW. Are Big Arsed Fans an Australian company? My google searches seem to suggest so and I have even found a few of their installation s here in Ballarat.

      Yeah.. it seems not too long ago that they installed the elevator.. really disruption for the hawkers
