wow... good to know you're fully recovered! back to your usual gastronomic best.. for a moment I thought you were going to eat the chicken cutlet too until you said takeaway... pity the Bao Zai not open, its nice. Saw a glimpse of the Nanyang Coffee there... nice too.
Back in top form, Piggy! As I have said before, the way you dance between sound-track, interview, savouring the food and zooming in on the cooking is sensational. Keep dancing mate.
Thanks Dr Jones.. 😝 Hope I managed to potray my flip flop hawker centre meanderings well.. usually leisurely and aimlessly.. but with the filming.. it kinda took away some of the previous casual joy I used to have 🥺.. I must continue my quest.. all these pioneer hawkers must not fade away without being documented.. even if it's a few mins
omg glad u went here!! 5:20, those are my grandparents haha .. i'm glad you have tasted their roasted meat, damn good sia!! they have been here for a while already, glad to see that a lot of people enjoy their food
@@malcolmkoh7602 Seetoh, Leslie Tay (although he's gone a bit corporate lately), Greg Leow - and not least our host for these videos - are all supporters of hawker culture. I've been eating hawker food for around 20 years now and have seen quite a few of the stallholders I've got to know over the years retire. Sadly, some of them have passed away already and some of the stalls they ran are no more. I suppose it's one of the aspects of life in Singapore that will pass into memory eventually, and the country will be all the poorer for it - I hope it doesn't happen in my lifetime because I just live for my 2 weeks' eating holidays over there.
Oh, and is their any chance of you putting together a Spotify list that you could share with us? Some sort of sound-track to food heaven that I could carry with me next time I cruise the hawker centres and kopitiams of old Singapore town.
These stalls with so many childhood foodie is going to be gone soon. Unless the younger generation can tolerate the hard work & carry-on these dishes to the future.

I could quite happily become an apprentice hawker to the uncle making Hokkien mee at 81. I have age on my side at least - I'm only 70.
Yup, I have massive respect for these hawkers! I am so thankful for people like KF Seetoh for preserving hawker heritage!

Wow , you live in one of those high rise?
Hi Piggypuggy, can you share the history behind of the Yong Zhen lor mee? Are they from the same stall at Taman Ho Swee?

How is Penang Char Kweo Teo different from the Singaporean version?
Bird nests and pineapple drink hardly can be seen in any hawker centres nowadays. 😱
wow wow west girl looked bemused lol
😂
Po piang, used to use shrimp, now fake crab stick. Cost of living spike, food quality dropped
Won tan noodle used to be 1.50 b4 lhl took office. Now? Laksa was good, now? Diluted gravy
Both still not bad... I stay beside the hawkwe centre
