Both of those songs you will love.
Levee will flip your wig, as will most of that album.
Your reactions are fantastic and your commentary is great, you’re a sharp music lover. Subscribed. I look forward to seeing your finding out about the band that still mystifies me 40 years later.
      Cheers!

    John Paul Jones/Keyboards
You need to listen to "All Of My Love" which was a tribute song Robert wrote to his young son, Karac, who passed away. People thought it was about a woman but no, it was for his son.
It's a lovely, slow, melodic song that is just beautiful ~

You’re 20, Robert Plant and John Bonham were 20 when the band started. John Paul Jones was 22, Jimmy Page 24. Can you image? They recorded their first two albums in 1968 and 1969, at the ages above. Magic from day one.

      @davidhornbeckmusic7487 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@varunagoonasekera7329 I love The Beatles, Hendrix, Bowie, Floyd, all of them. But man,.. Jimmy Page’s productions with Led Zeppelin still & will probably always mystify me.
The Beatles are incredible and revolutionized recording when they arrived, but when the first Zeppelin album came out everybody (including the big names) were freaked out by how much punchy bass/bottom-end was present on the first Zeppelin album and their subsequent releases.
Also the psychoacoustic properties employed in their albums (Hendrix also and a few others) are still regarded highly among audio professionals in the “wtf?” category.
The Beatles will no doubt live forever and also mystify and inspire for a long time. But Zeppelin will also remain as a vanguard of other possibilities,.. imho at least.
      Cheers!

@@davidhornbeckmusic7487 I totally agree with you. I am a Led Zeppelin fan. What the Beatles produced and composed with music will not be compared to anybody else. What John Lennon and Paul McCartney created is some of the world's greatest music. This music and lyrics is still to this day not equaled by any other artists. The "Let It Be" album has sold some of the highest copies in the world to this day. I believe Taylor Swift and some others have broken this record. It's been nice chatting with you and I hope we do this again.

So happy you have found Led Zeppelin! Your reactions are great. As an OG Led Zeppelin fan I really enjoy younger generations finding this out-of-the-world music by the GOATS of Rock. Each of the four members were the best at what they did. Together it was magic. I hope you continue down the rabbit hole of Led Zep. Start with LZ I, song 1, and go from there. You will not regret it. LZ fans are loyal, and huge in numbers!! We’re always looking for new, good reactors to the music of our youth. ❤

Led Zeppelin is one of the most sampled bands of all time. That’s probably why you have heard some of them. Yes, that sound is from Jimmy’s guitar and sometimes Robert’s voice too. This is one of their more overtly sexual songs but, most of their songs are. Lol

the confusion @ 2:44 had me LOL! New listeners always look lost in a maze at that part, and/or caught off guard by Robert Plant’s “sound effects“. I’m glad to see you’re enjoying Led Zep. One of my favorites is “when the Levee breaks” a blues cover. Thanks for posting your reaction!

FYI, even though the video shows Jimmy playing the guitar with a violin bow, that's not what was used on this song (but it was used in other songs). Instead, the strange, crackly, buzzy sounds came from an instrument called a Theremin. It's an oscillating device that emits tones by waving your hand around an aerial and controlling the pitch with a dial on a console.

The sound you are questioning is basically a 'pick slide'. The pick or plectrum is slid ALONG the strings, usually towards the head, rather than across the strings to pluck them.

Love the reaction. You will see Led Zeppelin experimented with many styles and ways to produce music. Jimmy Page was the producer of a large portion of their catalog. All 4 of the band members were amazing in their own rights. That is why they are so special. My favorite band. Their catalog is extensive. Check out Immigrant Song live from 1972. .. I have been fortunate to have seen Led Zeppelin twice in my life and was blown away both times but for different reasons.. Once as teen when I lied to my folks and traveled with older friends up to Detroit in 1977 - scalped an open floor ticket.. fought and elbowed and weaseled my way to the front of the towering speakers... the power from the towers physically vibrated my skin, destroyed my ears, and blasted my brain; turning it to mush.. or maybe that was the dot; dunno.. (the good news is I have a doctors note saying I cannot hear higher range voices, I made him add "like your wife's", ha ha) .. and then again... 1996, or 1997 at the old puke-stained Rosemont Horizon in Chicago... I was at the urinal when a kid, maybe 19 dressed in a purple suit handed me 2nd row center stage tickets telling me "you look old enough to dig these" .. Damn, the little asshole was right! To this day I get goose bumps when I recall the magic I witnessed that night. I studied and listened and redoubled my efforts... Page and Plant were so on point that I was actually angry that my rock n roll heroes were pulling a Milli Vannili. Goose bumps .. Enjoy your "trip" through the '70's; it's all a blur now that I'm 70's... grumbling: FneescantpeegrumphgroanbelchburpgetofftheFnlawn

My very first experience with "stereo sound" was in 1970 or '71 when my brother brought home his new record player with detachable speakers and played this track for me. To say my mind was blown is an understatement. In fact it was in the moment that I heard Robert's long "ohhhhh" from high to low (near the end of the song) go from one speaker slowly into the space between the speakers and finally into the other speaker that I realized that Donny Osmond had been masterfully replaced by Led Zeppelin... and I never looked back from that point on!!! 🎶💜

I’m glad you are really enjoying Led Zeppelin, all their songs are great. Yes in a few songs Jimmy Page uses a violin bow. If you watch their movie The Song Remains The Same, you get their concert at Madison Square Gardens, & Jimmy has about a 40 minute solo of Dazed & Confused. You get the scenes to of the story each picked to do. You can buy rent or watch free with commercials.

Jimmy Page is a master guitar player. You were referring the guitar slide Page would do on the guitar's fretboard. (Another slide example is during the guitar duet in the Eagles' Hotel California by Don Felder and Joe Walsh). Page also used a violin or cello bow on his guitar (like in Dazed and Confused).
