  • Getting started with Ultimaker Cura and setup Cura for the Voxelab Aquila. This Cura 3d printing tutorial will cover getting Cura onto your device, adding a printer, learning the navigation controls, and then importing a model and being able to manipulate and orient it. This is only Part 1 of this topic, Part 2 will continue by explaining all the different Print Settings we can tweak, and how they affect our models. If you have any questions or feedback please leave a comment and I’ll be sure to get back to you.

    As a new 3D printer owner this video is probably the single most important one I've viewed out of a few dozen so far. The actual printer part is mostly common sense. The Cura side is more subtle and this is very helpful.

    Nicely done sir. The pace was just right for a tutorial. I gave Cura a try with my Aquila with mediocre results. (particularly with printing functional parts with holes) I've tried other peoples profiles and still no luck. Cura works great with my FLSUN Q5. I'm quite confident that you won't find a better print on the Aquila than one sliced by Voxelmaker. It's amazing. Maybe I'll give Cura another try after watching part 2. Thanks!

    • @PrintsLeo3D
      @PrintsLeo3D  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the thorough response and giving the tutorial a shot. I have had similar results with my Eryone ER20, where SuperSlicer just gives me the better prints. So I've been giving SuperSlicer a shot and really liked it, but then I started running into issues using SuperSlicer for my printers that have Klipper installed lol. So maybe it's a good idea to have a working knowledge of more than one slicer. Part 2 is really the meat of the slicer so it should be good!

    • @PrintsLeo3D

      Yes this is tutorial will work for the Aquila c2! In this video I use the Ender 3 Pro profile which has a bed size of 220x220 which is the same as the Aquila versions. You should be able to start with this profile and get a good base for how the printer works.

    • @PrintsLeo3D
      @PrintsLeo3D  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Bob that's a great question and I'm not sure how much detail I went into on that with this video. After you've sliced the print you want to export the file to the SD card you will be printing from. Of course you would have needed to already connect the SD card into the supplied USB adapter and plug that into your computer. Afert the file is exported to that SD card it should be ready to print. Take the SD card, plug it into the printer , and then you should have it selectable under the Print menu. Let me know if this cleared anything up for you.

    Hello, would you recommend using the slicing sofware that now comes with the Voxellab Aquila v2, VoxelMaker? I ran an stl file thru it and it was off center on the bed and often tells me my print isnt on the bed, when i correct it, it ruins the print.

    • @PrintsLeo3D
      @PrintsLeo3D  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've never really used VoxelMaker outside of a few trial prints. If you feel comfortable with that software than Cura is the next logical step, as VoxelMaker is a branch of Cura.
      Right now I have been highly recommending OrcaSlicer, as it is fast, the UI is nice to look at , and it includes a lot of built in calibrations.

    • @PrintsLeo3D
      @PrintsLeo3D  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Happy to help! I will say newer uses tend to gravitate towards Cura. It makes sense because everything is easy to understand and compact. OrcaSlicer I think is a better slicer overall but it might be harder to get into initially. That all being said trying a few different slicers as you start, and getting a feel for what works for you, might be the best solution.

    Hi Leo, I have a question, i want to buy a Aquila Pro, but that profile does not have the Cura, can i used Creality CR6SE profile? i see the same specifications
    thanks

    • @PrintsLeo3D
      @PrintsLeo3D  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Mario thanks for watching the video and asking a question! I don't own an Aquila Pro so I can't say any of this from experience, but I did do a little research and it looks like only difference between the PRO and the base Aquila when it comes to slicer settings are: The build plate size, and the auto bed leveler. You have a few options.
      You could use the CR6SE profile as the build plate size is the same, but it doesn't have an auto bed leveling device so you'll have to add a line in the start code (g29) to make sure the ABL works. It's simple don't worry. I don't have any experience with the slicer settings of that particular model so I also can't say how good it may or may not be.
      The other option is to use the same profile I use in this video ENDER 3 PRO. All you would need to change is the build size. The stock size is 220x220, and you would just change it to 235x235. Then also you will need to make the Start Gcode change by adding G29 after the G28 line.
      All the changes you would need to make (whether you choose the CR6SE or Ender 3 PRO) will be found under the Machine Settings tab in CURA. If you want some more in depth help, like adding to your start gcode or if you want me to explain anything else more clearly just drop another comment or join the discord! discord.gg/WC7xa86v
      I also want to stress I don't own this printer so I am basing all of this on the information Voxelab provided on their website.

When you look to download this firmware it can seem overwhelming because there's a lot of options.
