    spending time with a DYING relative is not the same as picking your perfectly healthy mom over building relationships with friends and peers. you can spend time with your mom and also hang out with friends.

    Dhar Mann villains/bullies are usually so unbelievable. They ruthlessly make fun of the protagonist for things no one would make fun of.
    However. If a high schooler wore an I ❤️ My Mom shirt to school, they actually would be bullied for it. If they only ever chose to hang out with their mom, they would be teased.
    Hanging out with your dying mother is totally different than always choosing your mom over kids your own age. In this case, the “protagonist” was actually a weirdo.

    • @hollosou335
      @hollosou335 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Idk, maybe I don't get it but the protagonist seems alright to me. Like, sure, it's a bit weird to wear shirt but I wouldn't say it's okay to tease or bully a kid for that - let em' wear what they want.
      It is unhealthy for the kid to not hang out with anyone except his mom, but if he's talking with friends while spending a bit more time with his mom than the average kid, who's to say that's weird?
      Maybe I can just relate though since I was bullied in school for many years, and one of the things I was teased over was how I still called my mom "mommy" and how I talked with her so much.
      And don't get me wrong, Dhar Mann's message throughout the whole video was dumb and weird like usual, but I wouldn't really say it's alright to be teased or bullied for spending time with your mum.

    • @melfree2545

And there is no guarantee on what I'm saying, but it is very likely if the situation is like they make it out to be. Every time those people had an option of spending time with their friends they turned it down for the sake of spending time with their moms. They put a big emphasis that they spend most of their time with their moms, and that they are one of the few people they have a closer relationship with. The one time they were showed spending time with friends is still with their moms. That can have major conseqences, and I've seen examples of it. It's SO unhealthy to be that obsessed with your Mom! Especially when you're a teenager and supposed to be gaining social experience to prepare you for the real world. It has to be a BALANCE between family and social life. Otherwise, you get an adult that still lives with mom, has no friends, never been laid, and turns into a gamer neckbeard. This is how Chis Chan was born!

  • @thatalchemistlady
    @thatalchemistlady 3 ปีที่แล้ว +144

    It's kinda silly to start deconstructing the logic of the Dhar Mann video, but I'll do it anyway. Laboratories usually run 3-4 tests, sometimes more (depending on the illness), which go through different paths in order to find the result. You have to confirm your diagnosis in multiple ways before giving the result to the patient. This is specially common when the result of the illness will drastically change the person's life (say having AIDS, cancer, TB, etc.).
    For example: You don't run one (1) test with 98% accuracy, you run several different tests with 95,98,99% accuracy. That way you cover as much as you can in order to get a true result, being that result a true positive or a true negative.

    that would have to be like stage 4 colon cancer for her to not have much time left but if they needed a second biopsy to confirm that would be unlikely... and if not colon cancer, what the heck was in her colon then?!?!

  • @lucy_sl
    @lucy_sl 3 ปีที่แล้ว +59

    Okay all things aside the cancer thing is pretty messy.
    If they're suspicious of colon cancer and have done endoscopy and you're saying that you don't have much time you gotta have some serious symptoms. (Like bloody feces, some serious pain, constant constipation are the most basic ones for that) The biopsies does not work like that do your research Dhar Mann.

    people don’t actually make fun of people for having a good relationship with their parents. honestly the worst i get is jealousy from people who don’t have good parents.
    and i just tell them like my parents do that we’re an open arms/open door household. any friends who need to crash somewhere safe or even just have a quieter environment for their homework or eat dinner can come to our house. we have a spare room and bathroom after my sister moved out to their apartment for college, and my parents love to cook so we always have extra food.
    and they’re really fun to be around. all my friends love them and it’s honestly great
    that’s the worst i get is just people saying “man i wish my parents were like that” and then i hug them. no one actually makes fun of people for having good parents.

    It’s totally normal and healthy for a kid to want to hang out with friends over parents sometimes. Also, if I was a mother dying of terminal cancer, then if time and energy allowed I’d try to plan some fun stuff to do where my child and his friends could join in. Like take them all to a theme park. I’d want his last memories of me to be happy, and it’d be great if his close friends were a part of some of those memories.

    its honestly kinda hard to balance relationships, its important to have good relationships with your parents and friends.
    and, of COURSE, you are NEVER obligated to have a good relationship. sometimes thats not an option. stay safe, whatever means necessary.
    but spending every second with your mom? ofc thats sweet but if youre depriving yourself of friendships, try that too
