In my high school there was a student who worked as a janitor for 2 hrs after school most days to help w tuition. School also made costs for trips/ supplies/ extracurriculars as part of his compensation in addition to tuition and hourly pay... Nobody shamed him or made fun! He was very smart and kind. Graduated top of his class. Now has a double phD in physics.
How sad it is that anyone thinks, honest job is humiliating. It's not who you are, it's just a job. Do we still live in the world were there was a nobility that treated peasants like subhumans?

As a custodian, this is unrealistic. First, if he goes to the school, he would only do afternoon shifts, he wouldn't work while the school is active. Where are their gloves? Both of them don't even wear gloves while picking up trash! Students usually ignore or even help custodians. And at least where I live, we don't get paid 6$ an hour, we get paid 24$ an hour. Overall, I just find the video disrespectful towards custodians because they're making the job look miserable. Yes it's an unfulfilling job, but good luck finding a high paying job that doesn't require any university stuff or previous experience.
When I was in elementary school/middle school/ high school we would always help clean our own messes. The janitors were always really friendly to everyone too and everyone really respected them! 😊

The idea is not just to drill information into your brain, but give it practice for university/college, where you pay a lot of money for ppl with no charisma to drill information into your skull and then test you on it. Here in Japan, the students kinda are janitors. They must clean their classroom every day at the end of the school day. They push the desks to one side of the room and sweep and give the floor a quick mop. The chalkboards and erasers are cleaned. Trash cans are emptied. Classrooms used by all students like the English and science rooms are also cleaned by a small group of students. The students clean as to teach them to take pride in their space and not make it a mess.

Actually students getting jobs as janitors is normal at least in my experience, but not in between classes. They clean up after school.
In my experiences they also do it through breaks like the one you may have like halfway in school.

Just gonna say, i hate how at first you think that the mean girl is the only one that bother the janitor because you only see her doing that. But when she becomes a janitor everyone start bullyng her.
I hate when the bad kid get the same threatment by the whole school. Is okay that they learn but like, then the whole school is the problem and are bad people.
Plus nothing can assure that the rest of the kids havent or arent gonna bully the janitor. Like at the end almost nothing changes because just one person learned but the rest dont.
