After nightmare on Elm Street and Chucky, how about during the conjuring series of movies I don’t know if you ladies have watched them or not I can’t remember, but I would like to see you guys watch them
Nightmare on Elm Street three had Patricia Arquette as Kristen. This time it’s Tuesday night playing the role of Kristen. I think Cuz Patricia Arquette started to become very popular so I don’t think they were able to get her.
Originally Rick's death was supposed to be in the elevator where he would fall down a pit of darkness, but instead settled for the dream sequence we got later in filming. After filming the funeral scene, test audiences I believe saw a part of the film and loved Rick and thought he should live. But because they already filmed the funeral and his death, they decided to stick with it. You should really watch the Never Sleep Again The Elm Street Legacy documentary.
@@TaraErickson that’s so sweet! I’m happy you and Roxy are going through all these classic horror movies. I hope we can get some Friday the 13th videos too!
I've actually worked with Lisa as well! She'd never remember me, but she was an absolute sweetheart and it's nice to see that she and Tara are friends now!
Something I really appreciate about The Nightmare on Elm Street movies is that they do a really good job sticking to the logic and rules that they created for the world. In the last movie, the nun said the bones had to be buried on hallowed ground. But they bury the bones in the junkyard. So of course Freddy came back. The whole premise of the first 3 movies was Freddy hunting the children of the people who killed him. So after he did that, he needed a new way to hunt other children. Hence, Alice. They continue this same logic into the next movies. I love it.
If you think about what Alice is doing in the suit up scene, it makes all the more up lifting. She removes all the photos from her mirror, something she hated looking at (Lack of self confidence) Then she puts on a piece of item from each of her fallen friends, something that represented a positive strength for each person. By the end she has stripped all negative from her persona and replaced it with confidence through help of her friends. Which works with the idea that nightmares represent our inner failings and fears. And with no failings and no more fear, the are no more nightmares. Hence, no more Freddy.
She was afraid to look at herself in the mirror because she didn't like herself... but thanks to the courage trait from Debbie.. she was able to finally look at herself in the mirror.

They almost always completely miss stop motion, and usually say something like “yea, old bad CG”. Considering they make themselves out to be “in the industry”, they sure don’t know much about their own industry.
Rick’s death was originally going to be much different. The elevator he was in was going to crumble apart, leaving him to fall in an endless abyss. But by the time they were getting ready to work on the sequence, the budget was just about GONE, so they had to improvise and literally throw that dojo scene together.
I am one of those who prefer's the dojo scene. I know a lot of people feel its too silly but it fits both with Ricks martial arts character earlier in the film and Freddy's constant cheating in dreams. "I made a deal with demons to kill kids in their dreams but I don't believe in magic."
Kinda feel that his death was stupid because he saw the claw and then also saw it coming at him, maybe because he was scare being freeze knowing he was going to die?. We normally say,if you are about to be killed by a car, train you normally say, just move away, jump or something, but if that heppen to you in real life i guess you just freeze.
@@helltioeverygames I can confirm you do freeze when surprised. Not in those situations obviously but some years back a female co-worker collapsed near me and I froze. All the people that were there, were staring and Robert as Freddy turned to us and yelled, "STARING ISN'T POLITE!" I know a lot of people regard Part 3 as the best, but I’ll admit Part 4 has grown on me a lot over the years. It’s fun, silly, imaginative, Renny Harlin did a great job directing, this should be the tone they go with if they ever reboot Nightmare as a film series or TV series, unlike the horrible and boring 2010 remake, they need to lean into the comedy and over-the-top kills and crazy dreamscape worlds and just make it fun
Over the top kills yes but the comedy gotta be dialed down a bit, a balance between how menacing Freddy is in n1 and n.n. with the fun and creativity of the kills in 3-5. Essentially like pennywise

Just turning on TH-cam and the first thing I see is Roxy and Tara reacting to Nightmare on Elm Street 4: today is going to be a great day. 🎉 Let's rock!
This was my introduction to Freddy Krueger. The "Making of" special on the VHS rental got me into studying special effects makeup. That roach sequence still gets me.
This is why Elm Street is my favorite franchise. I feel like the characters are the strongest and each film feels so unique in its style, execution, and visuals. Even the “bad” films take risks and are unique to themselves.
I think you guys would enjoy the Never Sleep Again documentary on how each of these films were made and all the fun behind the scenes stuff. Definitely recommend to give that a look once you finish the franchise! 👍🏻
While Roxy was looking things up I was hoping She would see that Kristen Parker was played by Patricia Arquette in Part 3 & Tuesday Knight play Kristen Parker in Part 4.
Yeah I was waiting for them to see that the actress was completely different too, I guess Patricia didn't want to make the next one. Also explains why her power gets given to Alice so they didn't need to keep her character alive after that point.
Kincaid basically died of a heart attack in real life, freddy stabbed him but we only a realisic version of his death in real life Like with kristen she would have looked like she fell asleep on her bed with a cigarette alight
Just wanna clarify the dog pissing fire was not what brought Freddy back imo. I think he was already back due to Kristen's fear and merely wanted to put on a show for his grand reveal to Kincaid
I agree but I always thought the dog pissing fire was the catalyst for him finally able to come back because the dog bit Kristen in the first dream and her able to pull people into her dreams was passed to the dog that's why it dug him up lol just the way I looked at it
Freddy is a creative showman. Thats also why most of his kills are different. Before Jack nicklsons joker, he was the first fully functional homicidal "artist." Lol.
Yes! My favorite of the NOES sequels!! (I think the little girl being named Alice was just foreshadowing that Kristen would pull Alice into her dream...)
The making-of extras are really cool. They even show how they made the master pull-up shot of the junk-yard. All 80s practical effects, pretty impressive
I saw this as a kid in the theater. This was when Freddy was at his pop culture peak. He was doing guest appearances on MTV, there was an album released, talking pullstring Freddy dolls, you name it. This one hold a nostalgic place with me since it was my first Freddy theater experience. Not to mention a fun cast that had chemistry and a great soundtrack.
Mirrors was the theme of the movie...it shows one their true selves. It's why Alice hid her mirror because she was afraid to truly look at herself. Once she got the courage trait from Debbie...she was finally able to look at herself and see her true self. She was always the Dream Master...she just didn't have courage to embrace that before getting Debbie's courage
44:44 - the device keeps cockroaches away. It emits a noise that repels them. That's all it is. Tuesday Knight played Kristen, replacing Patricia Arquette. It was a recast. The little girl called herself Alice because Kristen was thinking of Alice
I've watched all these film but it's so many years ago I'd forgetten most of it, it's a pleasure rewatching them with you, Robert England really is the reason I keeped going to see them.
“A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master” ~ Is the fourth Nightmare on Elm Street film, released in the year 1988, directed by Renny Harlin. Despite the Dream Warriors' best efforts, critical reception was mixed, but it did so well at the box office that it grossed $49.4 million at the domestic box office on a budget of $6.5 million becoming the most successful Slasher Movie of the '80s. It was the most financially successful movie in the Nightmare series until Freddy vs. Jason came out in 2003. (I have the movie poster hung up on my wall in my room, definitely the best “A Nightmare on Elm” Film Of All Time! Also it has the best Opening Scene In Horror Movie/Film History! And Best Soundtrack Of The Franchise! I truly love it it’s my favorite horror film of all time! I enjoy this more than all of the other films within the “A Nightmare on Elm Street” franchise cause of the concept of it being The Dream Master basically like Lucid Dreaming, see in Dream Warriors it showed us the audience that more than just Freddy can have powers within the dream world but in Dream Master it showed just how far someone can take those powers. But what I love most about this film that shatters any other Horror film in my honest viewpoint is the protagonist Alice Johnson played by Lisa Wilcox…Alice starts as a timid/weak individual but grows into a strong powerful woman thanks to the journey/progression she goes on throughout the film. What makes her so intriguing tho is as Alice’s friends die she start to notice that she’s absorbing elements into herself. So when Rick dies she can suddenly fight, and when Debbie dies she gains strength etc. etc. by combining all of her friends powers she’s able to become THE DREAM MASTER! She then confronts Freddy in the dream world and by then she goes toe-to-toe with Freddy and WINS! Which is just so freaking badass and makes it my absolute favorite horror film of all time what a genius concept. And I prefer this over “A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors” mainly cause I’d much rather see one main protagonist kill off the evil villainous monster in Freddy, instead of a group of teens feels more rewarding especially for the final battle at the end to be honest.😈🙌🏽🎥🎞️🔥)
It was from this fourth film that the franchise abandoned the dark touch that characterized the first three films, and began to adopt a more comical aspect in the following sequels. I personally prefer the silent Freddie with few words who has hidden in the shadows, rather than his comical personality.
Due to the rapidly rising popularity of home video, as the 80's went on, horror movies seemed to be targeted to a younger and younger audience..... At the beginning of the decade they were targeted to 16-21 year olds but by the end of the decade it was more like 12-15 year olds.
Glad to see you guys appreciated this one. Renny Harlin’s mtv visual style speed and flare really elevated this one. Robert also said of all the films this is his favorite Freddy acting performance and Wes Craven himself said of all the sequels that he wasn’t involved in, he was impressed with this one.
Been looking forward to this one. This is one of my favourites and love the soundtrack. Back in the day, I taped the whole film just so I can listen to it on the bus to School. Tuesday Knight is playing the Patricia Arquette character Kristen.
This is in my top 3 Nightmare movies. The fixation on Alice being the little girl gave me anxiety the whole time. I quoted this movie a million times, Rick, you little meatball...so many one liners
You guys had mentioned in the Bride of Chucky reaction about watching the Friday the 13th movies, I would recommend watching all of them before you watch Freddy vs Jason
I always wondered how exactly making Freddy Krueger see his own reflection would defeat him. But yeah, this installment also established Alice Johnson as one of the strongest heroines on horror due to SURVIVING two encounters with Freddy Krueger.
Evil doesn't like it's own reflection. Like looking yourself in the eyes and confronting what you have become. Making Freddy weak enough for the souls to fight against him and make a mistake. Depowering Freddy
See, once you watch the third one you're pretty much hooked for life. You have to watch all of them now, even Freddy's Dead, which I don't think you'll hate as much as Freddy's Revenge. This one is most interesting because of who directed it.
Again, THERE IS NO CGI in these movies so far! CGI did not become a mainstream thing in movies until the early 90s through Jurassic Park and Terminator 2. These are visual effects, but none of this is computer generated.
I think it's funny that anytime they show food in a movie Roxy's response is, "blank sounds so good right now". I've noticed her saying this at least 3-4 times lol.
4 dream master has always been my favourite in the franchise. The loop scene is Robert England’s favourite dream scenario. Wes cravens new nightmare is englunds favourite in the series.
Have they never heard of recasting before? Also they literally know Patricia arquette played the lead in the last movie. She wasn't a random actress they dont recognize.
Considering how Freddy's victims turn out when he kills them, Debbie must've liked pretty gnarly with her body all mangled like she's been in a car accident.
This is honestly my favorite movie of the franchise. It’s just such a fun and wild ride from beginning to end! It’s also got some of Freddy’s best comedy, in my opinion.
the electronic device from sheila was made by her as a present to keep bugs away from debbie and it used ultra sonic sound. alice took it with her and in her dream it could do whatever she thought it would do which was burn a hole in freddy. the little alice was basically a lil joke play on alice n her daydreaming as she was quite good at it and liked dreaming. basically freddy just put a little girl in kristens dream and made her name alice, as we see freddy knows stuff in the real world.
I really love part 4 because of Lisa Wilcox as Alice. I always felt like she was the ultimate hero in the franchise because of her powers. Alice is good opposite to Freddy. Alice is the Dream Master, and Freddy is the Dream Demon.
This film was a huge opportunity for Renny Harlin and became his 'Hollywood card' back in the day. He had previously made 'Born American' and 'Prison' which made a little buzz, but this was the film that convinced producers in Hollywood to give him something bigger. He went on to direct Die Hard 2 and Cliffhanger and was a big name for a while. 'The Long Kiss Goodnight' still remains one of my favorites from him. It was a big deal here in Finland to have a director doing projects in Hollywood.
I remember watching the first 6 of these Freddy films before leaving school in 1992 at 16, amazes me the amount of horror films I use to rent out at an early age, (thanks Dad RIP 🙏 )
Englund stated 4 was his favorite acting performance wise, Wes Craven’s New Nightmare was his favorite movie of the series, the original is the scariest, and 3 Dream Warriors is the fan favorite.
these Freddy/ Chucky reacts are my FAVORITE out of all the reactions RR have made. stupid happy every time I see a new one pop on my feed. I could see Freddy leading into the Friday the 13th series
Nightmare on Elm Street has excellent special effects in all the films, i don t understand how this franchise never competed for the Academy awards in the special visual and sound effects category.
You ladies ARE doing a great Job and if you haven't seen them yet I would love for you to react to JAWS (just the first one) and the Evil Dead series. Each Evil Dead movie is a different genre. It's wild.
Haha it’s like they watched part 3 six years ago. I think the idea they implied was Kristin died from falling asleep while smoking and the cigarette set fire to her room given how many times they showed her lighting cigarettes. There was nothing about little Alice. It’s just Freddy f’ing with people he does it in every movie. If you really want to read into it I guess Freddy said “Alice” to get Kristin to call her in but that’s WAY overthinking this kind of movie. I love how Rox and T overthink stuff that isn’t important and miss a bunch of other stuff. That’s why I love reactions to movies I know, you get to see how different people observe things.
Freddys Nightmares was a tv series they did. Outside of the first episode that shows Freddys origins and first Dream kill its basically Tales From The Crypt with Freddy as the Cryptkeeper.
They think that girl caught on fire because she smoked in bed a lot, Freddy said what the connection is in this movie, the souls usually go into Freddy but they are passing through him into her for a reason.
Tara and Roxy are just too adorable. I love when this is one of the best reactions videos on Reel Rejects. Although nothing beats Tara’s jump scare in World War Z, this jump scare was awesome. Thanks for the video.
Lewis Carroll, who wrote "Alice in Wonderland" also wrote a sequel called "Alice through the looking glass" and it's about Alice entering the dreamland called "Underland" through the mirror.
I’m a massive Freddy fan and the first will be good this one however is my ultimate favourite I love Dream Master - it’s mainly because of the songs. The opening song Nightmare by Tuesday Knight is great, Anything Anything by Dramarama, Back to the Wall by Divinyls. But it’s definitely my go to NOES movie
Dream Master is my favorite of all the nightmare movies. I know, not a popular opinion. I will say that part 4 is nothing without part 3 which is nothing without part 1. I love every single Nightmare movie (excluding the remake) and watch them all the time but Dream Master has emerged as my favorite. Lisa Wilcox as Alice is my favorite final girl ever too!
Hell yes!!! Dream Master has always been my favorite! So glad to see many other comments saying the same thing 🤘🤘 It's the most fun one for me, also the best looking/sounding one, and it's got the best kills imo. I also love Alice.
FredHeads refer to this as the MTV Nightmare. Visual exciting and different for its time. There was a writers strike at the time it was made, so much was filmed on the fly. Also Tuesday night sang the opening song.
I think that while the specific karate moves are from the brother, when alice is doing all the flips and acrobatics thats her channeling Kristen's dream powers cause remember she could do all that in the third movie. This one is my favorite of the "lesser" films. No one will ever top Nancy imo but i love Alice so much and love the arc they gave her. The surreal elements in this film also were SO fun and even tho i think the overall cartoony tone the franchise takes arent my fav from a critical perspective, it's just all super fun and entertaining!
When Kristen gave Alice her power, it passed through Freddy which I think is the reason why he was able to manipulate her dreams so easily when he had her bring the others in. Also in the documentary, the director said that Freddy was a savage animal and he wanted another animal to bring him back so that's why our good boy was there 🤷🏽♂️ & I still need to know why Patricia Arquette didn't reprise the role of Kristen 😭
the fact that nobody even asked how some dude managed to drown himself in his own waterbed is kinda, the most hillarious part about this movie. pretty sure those don't come with a zhipper to get into it in the first place, but even if they did, nobody heard the waterpump needed to fill it up with water? the vidual is crazy, but it would most definitly be the k1ll that would have to have them ask some darn questions at the PD XD

1:00:00 Patricia Arquette is Kristen Parker and the blonde from the first part of a nightmare on Elm Street was named Amanda Wiss - Tina Gray
I find it hilarious that two actresses don't think of a re-cast. Just the thought must be a "MacBeth" type curse.
Kincaid basically died of a heart attack in real life, freddy stabbed him but we only a realisic version of his death in real life
Like with kristen she would have looked like she fell asleep on her bed with a cigarette alight
Good catch.
Just wanna clarify the dog pissing fire was not what brought Freddy back imo. I think he was already back due to Kristen's fear and merely wanted to put on a show for his grand reveal to Kincaid
I agree but I always thought the dog pissing fire was the catalyst for him finally able to come back because the dog bit Kristen in the first dream and her able to pull people into her dreams was passed to the dog that's why it dug him up lol just the way I looked at it
Have to draw your own conclusion due to the writers strike they just did set pieces for dream sequences and wrote the script as they went
Peep the dog's name was Jason..coincidence,I think not!
@@TH-cam_Street_DrifterAll good in Freddy vs Jason. Freddy said to Jason be a good dog and fetch.
My new Sunday morning routine, waiting Roxy and Tara's Reel Rejects watchalong of the 'A Nightmare On Elm Street' franchise. Loving these.
Yay! This makes me so happy!
@@TaraErickson I fucks with y'all. Even when y'all were mispronouncing Robert Englund's name. 😄
Patricia Arquette played Kristen on A Nightmare on Elm Street 3, Tuesday Knight played Kristen on A Nightmare on Elm Street 4
What's the BEST Part 4 in a Horror Franchise??
Halloween 4
Halloween 4 all the wayyyy so underrated
Friday The 13th Part 4
Wrong Turn 4 and Bride of Chucky (since Bride is the 4th movie). Those are the best 4th to any movie in my opinion 🙈❤️
Bride of Chucky
Spoiler sir
Well Nancy survived two times..
@@skylaquinn219 Nancy only survived once. Heather Langenkamp played herself in New Nightmare.
For me 2 is the.... one I like the least lol
Freddy's Dead is irredeemable. The whole Dream Demons nonsense may as well have been fecal fingerpaintings on the faces of everyone watching. Awful.
After you watch most of the other big horror franchises watch Behind The Mask: The Rise Of Leslie Vernon, it's amazing!
7:10 I’m laughing so much that y’all haven’t considered she was recast at this point 😂
After hearing them I was looking for this comment 😂😂😂😂
i love how Roxy keeps waiting for Freddy to do what he did in the second movie
Happy Cinco de Mayo!!! Excited to get a new Roxy and Tara reaction video on my birthday today!!! These two ladies are a blast!!!
Happy birthday! Thanks for the support love !!! 🎉
4 dream master has always been my favourite in the franchise. The loop scene is Robert England’s favourite dream scenario. Wes cravens new nightmare is englunds favourite in the series.
My cousin played one of the jump rope kids in this film
Have they never heard of recasting before? Also they literally know Patricia arquette played the lead in the last movie. She wasn't a random actress they dont recognize.
They watch so many movies and who knows what else when they're at home so im sure they truly forgot
The Dream Loop was genius...
Deb's actress was played by Brooke Theiss who was in the TV show Just the 10 of Us for for years with Heather Lagenkamp aka Nancy,
One, two Roxy’s gonna purge you.. three, four Tara screamed some more.. five, six it’s the Reelshejects!
Yes yes yes ❤❤❤
Absolute barrrrs
Reel she-jects! Yas! They have to start using that!
Patricia Arquette was Kristen Parker last time this movie Tuesday Night took up the role
No CGI in the 80s lord.
Not a lot of people like Part 4 but it’s my favorite one. It’s just so much fun!
the electronic device from sheila was made by her as a present to keep bugs away from debbie and it used ultra sonic sound. alice took it with her and in her dream it could do whatever she thought it would do which was burn a hole in freddy.
the little alice was basically a lil joke play on alice n her daydreaming as she was quite good at it and liked dreaming. basically freddy just put a little girl in kristens dream and made her name alice, as we see freddy knows stuff in the real world.
I really love part 4 because of Lisa Wilcox as Alice. I always felt like she was the ultimate hero in the franchise because of her powers. Alice is good opposite to Freddy. Alice is the Dream Master, and Freddy is the Dream Demon.
I remember the whole movie theater was mad at the loop. Lol. Most packed theater i was ever in.
Lisa Wilcox is a sweetheart. Met her at Scarefest here in Kentucky.
I loved meeting her as well! She's so sweet.
I have a special affection for this film. Especially because of the soundtrack.
A dollar for you. And a dollar for you..👍👍👍Thanks!
Gasp! Jake the Dog! Star of "Up the Creek" and "The Hidden"!
Also, that Dramarama song still kicks.
I don't think the Dramarama song will ever NOT slap.
Roxy's apathetic "Kincaid try to wake up" at 12:49 absolutely killed me for some reason.
I'm a simple guy
I see Roxy
I support the Queen!
My fav
I remember watching the first 6 of these Freddy films before leaving school in 1992 at 16, amazes me the amount of horror films I use to rent out at an early age, (thanks Dad RIP 🙏 )
Lmfao😂, that ''Forgetting Sarah Marshall" reference with the way Tara was saying "ENGLAND" was absolute gold😂😂😂
Englund stated 4 was his favorite acting performance wise, Wes Craven’s New Nightmare was his favorite movie of the series, the original is the scariest, and 3 Dream Warriors is the fan favorite.
Glad you enjoyed this! I've always thought it was neat how she gained the ability of each friend she lost.
these Freddy/ Chucky reacts are my FAVORITE out of all the reactions RR have made. stupid happy every time I see a new one pop on my feed.
“The head bone’s connected to the… rib bone” 😂
At 38:28, that was funny and cute. 😂😂😂😂PURGE!
So glad to see many other comments saying the same thing 🤘🤘
It's the most fun one for me, also the best looking/sounding one, and it's got the best kills imo. I also love Alice.
Wee didn't start the fire. LOL
Much love to Roxy and Tara, you guys are absolutely killing this series!!!
Literally every movie opens in a dream sequence😂😂😂 4:27
And? Ur not cool
@@jamesmorales4735 and let me guess.. you're the cool one right now.
How is there no acknowledgment that a major character was recast lol
Well, they kept saying that she looked different, but they never made the leap to "oh, that's a new actress"
I love you guys to pieces but yall are KILLING me with the CGI thing. Please read the comments so you can be informed lol
please watch also:
- the dream child (1989)
- freddy’s dead: the final nightmare (1991)
- wes craven’s new nightmare (1994)
- freddy vs. jason (2003)
When Kristen gave Alice her power, it passed through Freddy which I think is the reason why he was able to manipulate her dreams so easily when he had her bring the others in.
Also in the documentary, the director said that Freddy was a savage animal and he wanted another animal to bring him back so that's why our good boy was there 🤷🏽♂️
& I still need to know why Patricia Arquette didn't reprise the role of Kristen 😭
This was my favorite horror movie of this franchise, and part 3 dream warriors, I can’t wait for Freddy vs Jason.
Love you, Roxy and Tara! Your reactions always put a smile on my face!
Yay! This makes me happy ❤
We try! Haha :)
the fact that nobody even asked how some dude managed to drown himself in his own waterbed is kinda, the most hillarious part about this movie.
pretty sure those don't come with a zhipper to get into it in the first place, but even if they did, nobody heard the waterpump needed to fill it up with water?
the vidual is crazy, but it would most definitly be the k1ll that would have to have them ask some darn questions at the PD XD
The studio couldn't afford to get Patricia Arquette back as Christen, so they had to recast her character
There are competing theories, but given that Arquette refuses to even talk about Part 3, I don't think she had any intention of doing part 4.
@@ryanjacobson2508I heard it was a bad experience for her.She never shows up for any of the Nightmare conventions or anything
