Back in the 90s, I attended a taping at Warner's---unfortunately, not this episode. Candice was even more beautiful in person than I anticipated (of course, she was in makeup which makes a difference). Of all the tapings I've been to, the cast of "Murphy" was the most gracious. The entire cast greeted the audience members one-on-one after the taping. Pat Corley stood outside the door of the soundstage and chatted with the audience as we exited. Classy & professional actors!
LOL! "Then who took the Rolls? Oh, well, I'll worry about that later." Bette Midler was way over the top and cruising at 35,000 feet in that cameo. Nobody, and I mean nobody, can turn otherwise cheesy lines into fondue like the Divine Miss M.
Candice & Bette ... who cld ask for any greater entertainers... love bland expression on CB's face & BM - no words just admiration - pure talent! So psed to hear it's on again...
The 90’s really was her Golden Age, Bette was in all this amazing stuff, us 80’s babies know her well, and we thought we discovered her until we found out she’d been around for twenty years prior. 🥰
“Well you’re home now you Freak!” What the hell?! That dog was so tiny! “You are?! Delicious!” Omg! You could do an acting scene with any material from this. “I’ve got more speeds than a Cuisinart!”
I watched this episode, does somebody have the ending with Murphy singing along with that Aretha Franklin song and Elden suddenly appears and the audience applauds like crazy.
Don't know why the reboot referred to Bette Midler's character as Murphy's worst secretary, when she didn't actually work as a secretary? All she did was walked into Murphy's office and asked if it was her office. Bitched about her late husband and handed Jim her little dog to do its business. Still, it was great seeing her on the show.
I loved this show but always noticed something about the direction. The office extras never seemed to notice or react to what the main characters were doing. Notice how Bette Midler is acting out and nobody seems to notice her at all.
You've missed the point of the cameo. All of Murphy Browns "assistance" were crazy disasters, each is his or her own way. I expect Ms. Midler did exactly as asked - sailed it way, way, over the top.
That lady knows how to wring three minutes of every ounce of humor and leave you wanting more.
Agreed. Was gonna say something (did anyway lol), but you said it perfectly. Hope you're doing well. 😃
I love how Candice gives her scene partners the space to go big comedically. Two absolutely divine women.
She has chemistry with everyone. I’ve been studying her and it’s just phenomenal. 👍
@@secretdaisy6484 She's been great on The Conners, but I wish she had her own show again.

Oh! Those were the days. . . .
Her little mincing walk just kills me!
Similar to Sandra on *_227!_*
Love Bette and her cute little walk. She is FIRE (as the kids say today).
I just love her! OMG!!! Just a burst of energy like no other!!
Bette Midler just gave a master class in three minutes on how to make the most of a cameo!
Fa real
I dont remember anything from the episode but this I remember
She owned it
That's why she's Bette Midler.
Fun fact: A cameo was originally a metalworking tool. It was a small roll.
No matter who she is acting with, she always, always takes the scene. Even the movie. A true LIVING LEGEND ACTRESS.
Wow! Totally floored the scene. Bada Bing, Bada Boom!

@horrorflickguy My favourite film :) For me there is no one funnier on screen than Bette
I've watched this so many times, it never gets old!
osbournefan23 I never get tired of it......"then who took the Rolls?"

“CAPRICCE with two Cs interlocking like CHANEL!” 😂😂😂
Bette Midler is a force of Nature! 💝
Sagittarius. We tend to be. Look out. 😂
Gosh what an adorable little dog!
Flawless comedy timing!!! 😂😂😂👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I love Candace losing it into smiles and struggling not to grin & laugh. Beautiful bull breaks is what I call this.
Bette kills it every time.
Candice & Bette ... who cld ask for any greater entertainers... love bland expression on CB's face & BM - no words just admiration - pure talent! So psed to hear it's on again...
Amazing actresses!. Love Bette Midler, she looks gorgeous.

The Divine Miss M has a knack for appearing in the final episodes of shows. :)
On Monday, I'm going into work exactly like this!
The Divine Miss M in top form.
I Love Bette
Bette Midler is a comedic genius
Bette is the funniest! I just adore her!
Bette Midler will be reprising this character on the new season of "Murphy Brown". The episode airs on November 8th.

Bette is queen although I can also see Patti LuPone doing this, too.
The 90’s really was her Golden Age, Bette was in all this amazing stuff, us 80’s babies know her well, and we thought we discovered her until we found out she’d been around for twenty years prior. 🥰
The Queen of Over the Top in all her glory.
Bette Midler is FABULOUS in this role!

Malarkey
MIDLER IS "ALWAYS" DEVINE !❤❤❤❤
BEST ONE YET
They were both nominated for an Academy Award in 1980.
Yep, that's Bette. She can steal a whole episode, or a whole movie for that matter, in 3 minutes. Boy, she was great in those days!
That was wonderful!
And that is how you steal a scene and make it your own
Thank you Mihai, for sharing. The Priceless & Divine Miss M!
At the limit of the bearable, all these shots in three minutes, it is exhausting!
well
ya home now ya freak .. lol she's so funny
Three minutes and she ripped the scene from the tracks like a runaway train!
wld have to agree!!! when she hands jim that dog sends him on his way...her body language as she turns at 1:41.....she owned....hysterical...
Haha, hilarious!! The dog is so small though, it's just so tiny!!!
It's a chihuahua puppy, of course it would be tiny.
Fabulous
I simply adore. Bette......😁😁😁😁😁
Love this
Bette stole the show.
Just Great
" well your home now, your freak!" Lmaoooo
"your" sheesh.
@@jamesmcinnis208 I agree! Your vs you're proves exactly why so many other Countries rank higher than the USA when it comes to education!.
Flawless
You got to love Bette!
“Well you’re home now you Freak!” What the hell?! That dog was so tiny! “You are?! Delicious!” Omg! You could do an acting scene with any material from this. “I’ve got more speeds than a Cuisinart!”
Way to steal the ENTIRE show. Lmao.😂
Bette Midler is very funny.
love you all
This is hilarious!
Candace l miss you .
“Ya sick bastard !” 🤣🤣🤣
Was this the idea for Karen Walker?
Only someone like Bette can made the best out of a 3 min cameo, two CC interlocking like CHANEL, in fact whip is what killed Victor!!
Lizard ! Freeze frame & see 😮
Hey Bette! Brava!
Bette is the best.
*Sliding off my computer chair in laughter*
I love your hilarious acting Bette ❤
Yes 'It was a great show!'
Hahahahaha I had never seen that. She was so funny lolll
So happy Bette Midler is my astrological twin!
That’s how I win an Emmy in a guest appearance
I watched this episode, does somebody have the ending with Murphy singing along with that Aretha Franklin song and Elden suddenly appears and the audience applauds like crazy.

.
What a great show :)
The only good part of the show was up until Miles left. Then it was like watching a boat sink.
I loved this show but always noticed something about the direction. The office extras
never seemed to notice or react to what the main characters were doing. Notice how

assistants
What He means is that the people in the background do not react to what's going on around them like normal people would.
If they have been working there long enough, this is old hat to them.
Like night court, just another work day
@monokhem crazies
This show was the Hindenburg, Chernobyl meets 3 mile island after Miles left.
I don't like Bette but that walk off of the elevator was great and that little dog, LOL
Why is the set all different? I don’t remember the Murphy Brown set ever looking like this.
This is probably during the last season of the show
She does that so well. Haha.
