Nightwish is writing a new album, and started recorings yes, but they wont tour next album, might be they do some other festivals, and events, but no tour for this new album, NW anounced they need a break from this, to keep the band healthy, and yes we just got to see, if they do any other live shows, maybe some will focus on induvidual projects more then as well, and of cause we would like a world tour, but the health of the band is most important, and i think its good they know what they need to stay healthy as a band. i heard Tuomas say, the band almost worked 20 yrs in a row, doing eurpean tour, America tour, all kind of tours, festivals, a lot of shows in total, creating songs, and recording, so a break might be needed then.
You may or may not know this already @InnaMusicReactions, but after they completed this current tour Floor has mentioned that they are taking an extended period of time off and will also not be touring in support of the new album, but they do have a few new music videos that they will release. We will probably not see anything from them as far as a tour until 2025.
Love the reaction! Yes they are making a new album, but unfortunately they will not be touring for this album. The band is taking a much needed break, and Floor will be giving birth to her 2nd child. We all know how important the first 2 years are as far as bonding with the baby. Can’t wait for their return, but we get new music to rock out to while we wait. ❤❤
One of the early Songs, it is about the solar eclipse "two hundred and twenty two days of light will be desired by the night". Because that's the amount of time that went by before the eclipse (11th of August was the 223rd day of the year 1999). At that time their german record Label asked to write a song about it. One of the terms was "not longer than 3 minutes", Knowing Tuomas, he made it 4+ But it's also true that everyone has a different view of this song. Usually something they have experienced themselves.
Although it's difficult to choose a favourite Nightwish song, I think this is probably mine. Partly because I just really like the song, but it also brings back memories for me as I was one of the thousands of Britons who crammed into the southern tip of Cornwall on 11th August 1999 to watch the solar eclipse that is the subject of the song. Unfortunately, we somehow managed to pick a spot in Cornwall which was completely cloudy, so didn't actually see the eclipse itself, although it was really eerie watching the shadow of the moon racing across the clouds as it went dark. There is fan video of this song from Antwerp last November, Floor's first concert since her cancer surgery. You can see throughout the song that she's struggling to hold it together, but the emotion gets too much at the end and she bursts into tears. Still a fantastic performance of the song, and if you are able to watch the video without tearing up along with her then I question whether you're really human!
This is sometimes played on the radio here in Finland. Every time, Sleeping Sun stops time and rush. You look around the Super Market, everyone here remembers this nostalgic song from decades ago. Pure magic, sung by each of them.❤
The Phantom of the Opera introduced me to Nightwish, but I didn't pay much attention to them. Then I heard this song and got interested. Then I discovered Ghost Love Score. Now they're one of my favourite bands.
Nightwish with Floor Inna are the band that opened my eyes and ears to symphonic metal.... the start of a new love affair. Toumas found his shangri-la when Floor joined Nightwish and I am so grateful that a good friend pestered me in to listening to Nightwish live - The Poet and the Pendulum live from Wembley 2015 around 18 months ago and reluctantly I did and OMG I was blown away and have been ever since. Phenomenal band. "Sleeping Sun" is gorgeous 🙏😊👍❤️
This was one of the first Nightwish singles originally sung by Tarja in the late 90's... Tuomas (keyboards/ songwriter) recalled their label wanted a ballad to promote Nightwish... so, 'Sleeping Sun' became the first music video single, and it was successful in Europe. Nightwish just finished their tour for their last record 'Human II Nature' (2020) and Tuomas said he used the pandemic shutdown time to write another record... Nightwish toured from 2021 to 2023, and Floor is pregnant, expecting her 2nd child... Tuomas said they will a new album out in 2024, but no tour... the band is taking some time off to focus on family and other projects... Floor Jansen also has a solo album that she wants to promote... At some point (2025 maybe?), Nightwish will be back on tour... If the demand is there, maybe sooner. We'll see... 😈
Background from their book: ------------------------------------- ...At the end of summer 1999, the band heard that sales were promising in Germany, too. To boost the sales even further, Drakkar boss Bogdan Kopec came up with the idea of a special release exclusively for the German market. "There was a total eclipse of the sun in parts of Europe on August 11", Kopec says. "I asked Tuomas to write a song to commemorate the event. He wasn't too happy but composed 'Sleeping Sun' anyway. We were very lucky to have him do that." Tuomas was definetely not thrilled about doing made-to-order work. "I was very much against the idea. They said that the song should be no longer than four minutes, it must follow a hit formula, it has to have a catchy chorus, and it must be a ballad. I think they also said it shouldn't have a solo in it. Those were Boggi's guidelines. But we did manage to squeeze in a solo after all!" The song was released in Germany as a single called Sleeping Sun (4 Ballads of the Eclipse), containing 'Walking in the Air', 'Swanheart' and the title track of Angels Fall First. According to Kopec, the single was not a trendemous success but it did open new doors for the band. "The fact that a Metal band released a single in Germany is a special thing in itself, and for a newcomer, it's practically unheard of. The single made it to the charts and stayed there for three or four weeks - I think it peaked at number 60. This naturally gave a new push to 'Oceanborn', which then sold about 30000 copies. The single wasn't a huge hit but it gave them a lot of exposure, and as it had four great ballads, we could also reach a wider audience outside the Metal genre. One of the thing I did with 'Sleeping Sun' was to advertise it on the German news channel, NTV, which is like the German CNN. It was something nobody had thought of before - a Metal label advertising on a mainstream TV news channel. Even though it was a risk, I still think it was a good idea. It was all about reaching different kinds of people, like, say, fans of Andrea Bocelli. And I think it worked, because we really did reach a wider audience" Despite the single's success, Tuomas stood by his initial reservations. "I remember when the song was presented to BMG and the German subsidiary of Island", Boggi continues. "The night was a success in every respect, but when we were taking a ride that was organized as a part of the event, Tuomas told me not to ask him for one single song ever again. And I never have. I got the message", Kopec laughs.
Inna... love your reactions and welcome to the loving arms of the "Metal Family"!!❤ This song is woven deeply in the fabric and psyche of Nightwish fans. Even if you only play it for yourself, this song, as sung by Tarja is exquisite. But we'd love to see you react to it, too. Look forward to seeing you again very soon❤
Hi ! I'm new to your channel and happy to discover it ! It seems to have great reactions and great music ! Maybe you'll be as happy as I was to discover (and react to) Blackbriar. (Symphonic "female fronted" metal from The Netherlands recently signed with Nuclear Blast). They have 3 new releases that would be my suggestions: Cicada, My Soul's Demise and Crimson Faces (all 3 belonging to their upcoming album). Thank you for your great work !
First time viewing one of your reviews, very impressed by your split screen. Hope all your videos are like this (yes I will check them out) and I hope/wish other reviewers follow your lead.
Yes, they are all in on recording the new album. They just finished their tour for the previous album and Floor is going to have that child sometime soonish I hope... And she will need time to recover and take some maternity leave with the child as well. This new album is probably going to come out 2023-2024 and I think it is going to at least 2025 before we see them on stage at least in a tour capacity. They have been known to do some pop-up shows in Finland that they don't advertise nor pretty much tell anyone they are doing a show and just show up and do some songs... Floor was having some health issues with the pregnancy and from all we know is that she is doing fine, she just had to stop the singing a little earlier than she meant to... Also the new album coming out is highly dependent on when Floor can do the vocals... Emppu is starting with his guitar work soon.
Sorry, no tour on the coming album. Maybe some festivals if we are lucky. We will need to wait patiently for the eleventh album to enjoy their next tour.
@@vogel2280 there are no plans, but as things move forward there will be plans. It just means that 2024 is pretty quiet for Nightwish. If they are in the business of making money, they will tour... This has been the change in the music industry since Napster. The album sales have fallen hard and there isn't that much money coming in from the new album release. Spotify and others aren't paying the artists anything resembling the income they got from album sales back in the day. They will be back... It is not like they are calling it quits here. And this back is most likely the summer of 2025.
The coming album (#10) will have no tour! (Sorry!) The tenth album will the the final part of the nature trilogy (after "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" and "Human II Nature") Due to a mix of personal circumstances (Marko leaving, Tuomas' father dying, Floor beating cancer) and the fact that Tuomas created a lot of new material during the pandemic Tuomas decided to crack on and focus on the next album (#11) as soon as he feels ready for it. Conveniently, Floor (and Hannes) had perfect timing and are creating a baby in the mean time. Nightwish always takes a break before continuing, just to clear the last album from the mind before making the next. So, we can expect the release of a new album early 2024. And that may be it for 24. I would expect the eleventh album to be recorded in 2025, followed by a tour.
If you want to hear even lighter side of Nightwish, check out an old video with their previous singer. The video you want is titled "Nightwish - Slow Love Slow live Montreux Jazz Festival 2012 HQ" - it's basically jazz combined with metal. And if you want heaviest side, try Master Passion Greed. However, that doesn't have music video and it hasn't ever been performed live so you only have the cover photo and audio on the Nightwish channel.
Not a favorite of Tuomas, as I understand it, but a favorite of Floor's, and that's primarily why it's on the setlist. So glad it was, because it's absolutely beautiful. Nightwish has so many different sides, and this is just another one. I appreciate you pointing out how every member is so important to the Nightwish experience. They're all team players (Floor included), so they put their egos aside for the band and the song. But they all get a chance to shine at different moments, without taking away from the composition.
I saw them live in Antwerp (Belgium) in 2022, Floors her first performance after her cancer surgery a month before this performance. In the end she was very emotional and in tears, Empuu couldn't keep it dry either. I will never forget this, it is anchored in my heart🎶🎶🤟🏻🤟🏻
I think you would also like their song called Élan. It has official music video, too, but I think you should go with the live performance titled "NIGHTWISH - Élan - Live In Buenos Aires (OFFICIAL LIVE VIDEO)" on the official NW channel.
I like Floor's version, but my favorite Nightwish song is Tarja's version of this. Been a huge NW fan for over 20 years and nothing they have beats that.
That was a nice reaction. While I enjoy Floor's performances, I prefer the original material only to be sung by Tarja, the original lead vocalist. If you haven't already, I'd like you to react to Sleeping Sun from the End Of An Era tour with Tarja. Also some of the other songs from that tour - Phantom Of The Opera, Nemo, The Siren, Ever More and Ghost Love Score 😊
Hi InnaMusic, i love to see your reaction videos of Nightwish. For me they are the best band in the world 😍 I also have another recommendation for you. If you like surprises, then try this masterpiece of our Dutch genius Arjen Anthony Lucassen with 11 awesome singers (I won't spoil who they are, but i think you will recognize some of them 😉): Ayreon - The Day That The World Breaks Down. Here is the link to the video: th-cam.com/video/oFuMKdrzPqU/w-d-xo.html You will be blown away by all the talented musicians and singers! You won't be dissappointed....I PROMISE! Hope to see your reaction to this masterpiece soon and for now....Greetings, stay safe and lots of love from The Netherlands, Martin.
I understood correctly NW won't tour much on during new album. Perhaps Floor wants to have a family/friends time. And she drove herself to braking point last pregnancy. So we NW fans just want to listen to her when she has everything cleared via doctors and such
🇬🇧 Norfolk strapped in for the ride 😊beautiful song for the eclipse ☀️ The band have decided not to tour with the new album and are taking a break ,floor as new mum once more 😊
I found Nightwish back in the Tarja days, and while the found the compositions amazing, I have rarely found anything in the operatic voice pleasing. It just rubs me the wrong way, and is a matter of taste. I find opera a grater to my cheesy ears.. I drifted away, listening to the three or four songs I found pleasing. I found Nightwish as I discovered Within Temptation on a whim, and I loved them and looked for more like them. Nightwish was discovered and are now at the very top of my all-time favorite band list. Tuomas is simply the greatest composer of my lifetime, and in the top 10 of all-time composers. If you have not yet tried Withtin Temptation, give them a listen ... you will LOVE them. I suggest "Mother Earth" as an introduction. "Frozen" and "Covered in Roses" are two others very high only list, but there is so much brilliance in their catalog. You would also most likely adore AURI ... which is Tuomas and Troy from Nightwish, along with Tuomas' wife Johanna Kurkela as singer. It is the quiet and beautifully mellow side of Tuomas and Troy, and is great music to which to relax. Thanks for sharing, it is appreciated very much.
this song and version : my top 1 from Nightwish. More symphonic metal ? You can't listen "Epica" ! a gret start: "Sancta terra" feat Floor (at retrospect live) or "consign to Oblivion (live at Zenith, Paris). More metal ? take a look at "Liliac". It's brothers and sisters band. They are big fans of Dio and made great cover (like holy diver, last in line, ...). But they have their own songs like "sail away", dear father, .... a great cover: "seven nation army".
Don't get me wrong..i love Floor ❤ and she is a very big part of Nightwhish and does this song really good but for me atleast, Tarjas version is superior 👏 If you react to it i would recommend the original musicvideo (the one where she has shorter hair and there's alot of landscape and water) or the live video 👏🙏❤️
I don't like this version, it has no energy and Tarja's great voice. You can really notice the difference in the quality of Nightwish, I don't want to disparage Floor, but Tarja is the voice of Nightwish.
this is how a Queen turns out to be a Goddess
That is absolutely true.
Floor Magic !!!!!!!!
Floor has the most beautiful voice ever!
Nightwish said that they will not tour for the new album (and Floor told her solo audience that she deplores that).
A lovely song, written on the occasion of the eclipse of August 11, 1999. Very beautiful to hear, both sung by Tarja and Floor.
Tarja's version is amazing
@@eddy9609066 The Originals are always amazing, I love both like Tarja and Floor are friends.
Scandinavian rock at its finest! 🤘🇫🇮
This is one of my favorites.
I concur
For a couple more ballad-like songs by Nightwish, check out "The Islander" and "While Your Lips Are Still Red"

Hi, very beautiful reaction
My favourite ballad! And what a smile you had listening to this. You should listen original Tarja era version on your own as well.
This is a classic, from the early days of Tarja when I first started to listen to Nightwish. Beautiful song!
Epic version
Nightwish never disappoints
and obviously Floor...
Pure epicness
🔥❤❤🤘❤❤🔥🔥
I ~heart~ Nighwish!!!
The pure joy on your face shines through during the entire song.
Love this song. Man tissues needed. Awesome reaction 🤘
Great reaction!
And me, myself and l! ⛄👍
Thank you for featuring this. One of the greatest power ballads of all time. Both Floor and Tarja's versions are spectacular. Loved your reaction.
The Phantom of the Opera introduced me to Nightwish, but I didn't pay much attention to them. Then I heard this song and got interested. Then I discovered Ghost Love Score. Now they're one of my favourite bands.
Amazing Nightwish ❤ Thank you ❤❤❤
Singers sing what they can
Floor sing what she want ❤
Can't wait. One of my favourite songs, by either singer :P
Nightwish is timeless!🤘🎸
Good to see you smile baby girl.
So much beauty in here, overwhelming!!!!
My favourite Nightwish song, sung by either Floor or Tarja.

My favourite performance of it
Who would know Tuomas didn't really want to write to commission?

A lovely song. Originally Tarja, but I love both Floor and Tarja renditions. I now also love a cover by Andra Ariadna, sound it out.
Nightwish alsoo has 1 Jazzy Song called Slow Love Slow

If you like surprises, then try this masterpiece of our Dutch genius Arjen Anthony Lucassen with 11 awesome singers (I won't spoil who they are, but i think you will recognize some of them 😉): Ayreon - The Day That The World Breaks Down. Here is the link to the video: th-cam.com/video/oFuMKdrzPqU/w-d-xo.html
You will be blown away by all the talented musicians and singers!
So we NW fans just want to listen to her when she has everything cleared via doctors and such
i am realy, realy amazing if lookt to you
🇬🇧 Norfolk strapped in for the ride 😊beautiful song for the eclipse ☀️
The band have decided not to tour with the new album and are taking a break ,floor as new mum once more 😊
👍👍😍😍🤘🤘
❤👏👍👍
You haven't even touched on their latest album Human/Nature, nor the "Buenos Aires" live concert from 2018....
🤩👍💥💯🎼
🤘😎 🇫🇮 💙

Please do a reaction to this song with their original singer Tarja 🙏❤️
You should try the version with Tarja, it is even better.
One of the few songs I like better with Tarja...Floor sings it in a natural way, Tarja more with an operatic voice...
absolutely agree!!!
not my orginal....sorry
Don't get me wrong..i love Floor ❤ and she is a very big part of Nightwhish and does this song really good but for me atleast, Tarjas version is superior 👏 If you react to it i would recommend the original musicvideo (the one where she has shorter hair and there's alot of landscape and water) or the live video 👏🙏❤️
singer no tarja torunen...ok---keabeart kein merlin nowan old from band?byet the great melodies i must cry and talking with my ex ex
Don't listen to this song if your on a ship.
Why? Are you afraid that this might cause an irresistible urge to jump overboard?😂⛴️
@@jaana3634 This song is used for sinking ships.
I don't like this version, it has no energy and Tarja's great voice. You can really notice the difference in the quality of Nightwish, I don't want to disparage Floor, but Tarja is the voice of Nightwish.
