Ghana 🇬🇭 should have found out about this. But no, it appears that Africa/we wait for others to prompt, give us heads up. That's what I've been talking about --- acting like Africa 🌍/we have been hypnotized by non African people. I can't comprehend, visualize, ---- what's going on with Africa/our mindsets, ----!

The problem is that Ghanaians have developed a taste of foreign goods and that is a big problem

No it's the politicians, they are making business out of importation instead of focusing on local products since they don't control it

@oceejekwam6829 Accra is not Ghana, most Ghanaians eat local, the challenge is urbanisation, with women working, there is no time for traditional cooking, and with too many families eating street food, instant noodles, rice and fried meats are much in demand.

@@selassietetevie4966 This has triggered another question. What are the health implications of such a change in diet? In the West I'll health has increased with the mass adoption of "fast food"/junk food.

Are they so incompetent that they couldnt think of this and had to wait on an external directive.

Eh! Very shameful on their part. With all the PhDs etc at the central bank and beyond, does one need to sit fiddling one’s thumb till an external body come in and tell them? Asemooo

Guys, did you check the pie chat of import?
Is you know Stats, then you'll know what exactly the USDA meant and why? Lol, shm😅.
Anyway, this situation in GH was expected, considering the rapid up springing of all those malls. Where did you expect them to be source their products for sales in a none producing and processing country like Ghana😢

Ghana needs to lay stress on R&D in agriculture technology, so that high-yielding varieties of food grains could be grown and dependence on imports could be reduced. This will make Ghana gradually attain self-sufficiency in food production.

The same people telling Ghana government to reduce food imports, sabotage efforts to reduce food imports, don't mind these people, it's all part of a big game to deflect their plans, if we are stupid we will not think for ourselves, yes we need to stop imports of rice, tomatoes, cooking oil, sugar , frozen meat and fish and find alternatives to wheat,we must be strong and persistent.

"The US Warns Ghana to Cut Food Imports and Boost Local Production." If I may ask, to whom is this statement directed? Is it being directed to a human being or to an animal? If it's proposed to the President of Ghana Nana Akuffo Addo, then it's directed to an animal who doesn't understand the natural human language.
