    Rememeber when in 2010 they said Austerity would clear the national debt by 2015? People see a PM who is panicking at every turn. She waffles on about employment being at record highs and the economy being good. Truth being that zero hr contracts and harsh failing credit systems forcing people into desperation. Grenfell, Windrush, Police force cuts, NHS staff pay she is awful..!

    • @davidlittler8512
      @davidlittler8512 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Barrie Vesty Your wrong that they said austerity would clear the national debt by 2015. They said they would clear the deficit, two very different things. For many years we have been spending much more than the exchequer brings in (the deficit) is the difference between these two figures which means year on year we are adding to the national debt. We have all seen what has happened in Greece, Ireland, Spain and Portugal in the last ten years. This is the consequence of allowing national debt to get out of control.

    • @dvidclapperton
      @dvidclapperton 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Even more deep devastating austerity from other public services being cut and increased taxes to pay for increased funding of the NHS.
      A no deal extreme brexit makes the UK far worse off, not the £350 millon per week better off that the goverment are still trying to make the UK electorate believe it will.
      The tories have devastated millions of the electorate with their ideologic agenda.

    • @davidlittler8512
      @davidlittler8512 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I get so fed up of the constant Tory bashing. If Labour had fixed the roof while the sun was shining in the late 90's and early 2000's instead of spending like there was no tomorrow then maybe we wouldn't be in this mess now after financial crash of 2008.
      We don't know yet what type of Brexit we are going to get. The predictions that we are going to be far worse off after Brexit are just that predictions. How many economists predicted the crash of 2008, not many yet we still blindly trust these people to get it right.

    • @barrievesty1314
      @barrievesty1314 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      David Littler anyone who claims it was "labours fault" for the crash etc is wrong. lending in the USA was to blame for a global crisis. No one could foresee that would happen. I am in business, none of my staff are on zero hour contracts. I am appauled we have no "gumption" in politics. Your fed up with Tory Bashing?? We have a foreign secretary who quote unquote refered to Putin as "hitler" in reference to the world cup. Not one Tory denounced the innocent civilians being shot in Palestine. They are afraid to denounce Trump and his racist ideals. Foodbanks are at silly rates, hundreds of disabled who commited suicide, people left in the mire.
      Do not get me started on women who's pensions got pushed back years. Brexit has been very poorly handled with us going into negotiations with zero idea on what we want to be.
      We rely on outsourcing way to much and privatisation is in the long term bad for the economy.
      We need to get some pride back and how can we have that when a party does a grubby deal with the DUP who have backward ideals.
      We need a whole political change, politicians should be for everyone and work hard to do that. Zero trust in the nation of uncaring people we have become.

    I now I'm going to get a lot of stick for what I am about to say, but it is what it is. Theresa May is the worst prime minister we have ever had for a long time, and I am not totally convinced she believes in Brexit. I really believe Prime Minister May is the single biggest problem facing Brexit. She's trying to keep together a warring Tory party that's had problems with being part of the European Union for the better part of 40 years. Britain is limping towards Brexit very, very slowly. My guess is that Brexit will happen,
    but maybe not as favorable as we might have hoped.
    I honestly believe we will leave the European Union, but I suspect not on the terms that I would have liked, but I'm also beginning to think it will be on terms that Ireland won't like either because the one country that gets the most affected by Brexit after the United Kingdom is the Republic of Ireland.
    Even compared to Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, Theresa May is the worst prime minister that I know of. Margaret Thatcher made some really grievous policy errors, but I do think she probably believed she was doing the right thing, but Theresa May knows she is doing the wrong things, and no one can work out why; she is both incompetent and wrong-headed..
    I think we would be better off without a government. Italy did really well when they threw them out three times a year!

      New rules regarding off shore tax havens and non-charitable corporations would be a good target. There is no money for the NHS, but millions for war related activity and enticing multinational corporations to stay within the UK. The most generous MP bonuses that make headlines, and annual expenses that go into the many thousands seem to be only for a select few, but I didn't realise there were eight bars inside Westminster. @Jonatan D - according to Dyson and the CEO of Witherspoons, we're going to do very well outside the EU. The people who will be hit by us leaving the EU might be the big investment banks because most of their employees in the City of London are not British. All they have to do is it a tiny bit of paperwork. It's just that banks traditionally don't like any kind of change, even though change is the way of the world. I suppose they don't really know what variables to give their trading computers.

      And why on earth would the EU give you a good deal? Kindness? It is a negotiation between one country and 27. Guess whe has more leverage?
      The days of the great british empire are over, it is not like countries are scrambeling to trade with you. Within the EU you had special tratments for decades, now you wont get anywhere near favourable conditions.
      Why on earth would one leave a could and then expect to get its benefits for less than before and without the downsides?
      Maybe the saddest thing in all of this is that the majority of the British citizen will blame the EU for not given them a better deal...

    Theresa May two points on NHS: NHS needs to become much more business savvy. Use its buying power to demand significant discounts. Secondly, delayer the management structure of the NHS which is top heavy with general managers who have not a clue and bring back the ward sisters who know exactly what is required.

      The Tories ruthlessly defunded the NHS over 10 years (pretext for privatization - an it is not like they were getting too high funds in the old days). - UK per capita healthcare expenditures - only !! - USD 3,900 * ( U.S. with the private system USD 9,200 (among the HIGHEST in the world)
      Australia has 6,000. Wealthy European countries and Canada usually between 5,000 - 5,500 (and for that money a First World country definitely can have a good and well working system leaning towards non-profit and solidarity).
      * source: World Bank. Health care expenditures for nations, data 2014
      Germany 5,600, Austria 5,400. I know from experience that both countries have good systems. 3,900, vs. 5,600 is a HUGE difference.
      If the UK had 69 % higher expenditures per capita the country would be at the German or Austrian level - and most of it would land in the NHS budget.

    How is the government going to get more nurses in?
    I applied for mental health nursing degree for September this year and was only accepted by one of the university, and it looks like im going though UCAS clearing because im going be one mark away from my conditional offer and was told by the university to to get a loan out and do an access course and come back in a years time.
    About a year ago the government announced nursing apprenticeship degrees which i thought was a breakthrough because some people don’t want to sit in a university hall and doesnt learn that way. I have been looking for nursing apprenticeship degrees for a year and none of the NHS trusts are doing it in my area.
    To get more nurses in, Theresa, you need to go at the universities or allow a different way though to nursing instead of it being a “degree only career”.

      Greetings from Germany: there and in Austria becoming a nurse is a kind of apprenticeship (a paid internship for 3 years). Teenagers and young adults learn it usually at larger hospitals with boarding schools. Minimum age to be accetped is 16 years, there is testing done (school grades, a test, and an interview).
      If one does not make it into acceptance, I think it would be possible to enter the system as unqualified helper and then do courses to upgrade. Sometimes teenagers are all over the place, do not have good grades, but they are good in practice. So when they are more mature they can upgrade.
      The nurses in training work in the departments get on- the-job experience under the guidance of qualified staff, and they get the theoretical training and the testing in the school on campus. Most live on campus in double bed rooms (less distraction and normally they come from outside and cannot commute).
      Not every hospital has that institution. I think they get compensated by the government for that service - and of course they profit from the cheaper labour (they do get paid plus the board it they need it but it is not much)
      The hospitals must organize school, the teachers, and most nurses in training are living on campus. So they need to organize that too.

      Xyz Same thanks for sharing ! Here in the UK its very much university focused.
      When you leave school you either do 3 Alevels, or you do a BTEC course in Health and Soical Care( which i done) then you apply to university and see if you get in or not.
      Btecs are only available to under 19s, if you want to go into education to becoming a health care worker but you’re over 19 then you will need to do an access course, at my college it costs around £3,000 to do the course which then allows you to get into university.
      What you said about the helpers was quite interesting, we have health care assistants so theyre one under a nurse, and are paid workers they can’t give out medication or measure it. However, you become a health care assistant and work your way up to being a nurse. So im guessing its like that?

    Every time there’s a new interview with Theresa May I settle down to watch it from start to finish to educate myself on the current affairs of my country. And yet again, once the interview has finished I still have no clue what’s going on.
    She waffles on, side steps important questions and doesn’t give me any faith in her at all.
    Time will tell if she has done a good job with Brexit, unfortunately we won’t know anything until March 2019 coz she’s gives nothing away

Plus £40/50 per week people will have to pay for the NHS also she uses the NHS WHAT she gets £110.000 a year and she doesn't pay for her hospital treatment what a joke the NHS should only be for people who only get less than £35.

    Does it not seem meaningful to people that the EU negotiators can negotiate on behalf of 27 countries with no dissent reaching the media in contrast to the British government who are criticised and have people attempting to prevent them from carrying out their mandate?
    To me this indicates the impotency of the governments of the 27 to affect the negotiations and their having to accept whatever deal the EU negotiate, whether damaging to their economic prospects or their security.

      Greetings from Germany - I do not see how people let get the Tories get away with defunding one of the most cost-efficients systems in the world.
      They do so to have a pretext for privatization in my opinion (healthcare is 8 - 10 % of GDPin every developed nation - and it was off limits for the "investors".

    • @xyzsame4081
      @xyzsame4081 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      UK per capita healthcare expenditures - only !! - USD 3,900 * / private U.S. system USD 9,200 (among the HIGHEST in the world), Australia has 6,000. Wealthy European countries and Canada 5,000 - 5,500 (and for that money a First World country definitely can have a well working system).
      * source: World Bank. Health care expenditures for nations, data 2014
      Germany 5,600, Austria 5,400. I know from experience that both countries have good systems. 3,900, vs. 5,600 PER PERSON (in the country !) is a HUGE difference.
      If the UK had 69 % higher expenditures per capita it would be at the German level - and most of it would land in the NHS budget.

    But I suppose they didn't think about the fact that your companies will pay extra taxes to the EU, even for services.
    So probably the EU will get even more money from you guys then they do now...

    • @dvidclapperton

      Taxes and/or further cuts to public services will have to pay for at least£30 million of the £380 million per week going to the NHS instead of the EU if £350 million per week Brexit dividend (is that even accurate?) is set aside to go to the NHS instead of the EU on brexit, or all of that £380 million per week in taxes and/or further cuts in public services going to the NHS, and taxes and further cuts to public services will have to pay for all of the divorce bill for leaving the EU and for tariffs for goods going to and from the EU, plus for membership of the single market and the customs union or for a FTA.
      There is no£350 million per week benefit to the UK economy on leaving the EU.

      No kidding I have no clue what you mean (on 2nd comment)

    • @vqillqnt34
      @vqillqnt34 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Brexit Monger to your 1st paragraph Israel was and is a nation Engeland and the US did this to (although England in a much smaller scale than the US)
      And to be honest I only say what I think from my standpoint if you take it or throw it is up to you all. Not like youtube comments will change anything anyway...
      On the 2nd one, what I put forth was only that, they speak about numbers that are only taking into account best case (let's hope that happens since I think it will benefit Belgium more than the worst case scenario, since although you probably don't know but England is Belgium's biggest trading partner) but when not all treaties are renegotiated England will lose much more than what they can possibly gain.
      Moreover the pro-brexit propaganda was exactly what you said not looking at the forest but just at some random trees.
      En als laatste en minst belangrijkste mijn Frans is even goed als mijn chinees (btw Ik kan geen woord Chinees :( )

    • @vqillqnt34
      @vqillqnt34 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It seems you didn't completely understand the term 'trading partner' (it is a relationship where both sides benefit from exchanging goods and/or services, so don't act like we only export to England, since it is a mutual thing), and you should also look at the forest instead of the individual trees, don't you think so?
      Well my guess is that you will say I have no clue about what I am speaking about so I refer again to, it is only my opinion made from what I've read and seen. So whether you believe it or not is not my problem.
