The voice acting was questionable at times throughout the game, but you can't deny how epic the game was or how badass that cape flip was from Great Commander.

This song was everything to my young mind. I believed as I grew older that adulthood was a time of going on quests and adventures, making partnerships with fellow warriors and travelers, but most of all, saving and defending what I loved most in the world. Where did the magic go? When did life become so hum-drum, so monotonous, and lacking in passion and childhood glee? Why does God give you the ability in adulthood, but makes most of us forget what it's for?
Plain and simply? Because the world has changed. 500 years ago you could have done all that. Sword in hand and metal shell on your back you could have cut out your own fortune and made your own story. Now we are all slaves working for someone else on someone else's land/property for someone else's profit. In my honest opinion. The world died as it "grew".

Things aren't exciting anymore and I remember enough to know that my younger self would be stoked to have the skillsets I have now, but I've lost all the passion to actually make use of it. I constantly ask myself where it all went wrong :/ Hope we can manage to turn it around.
+Lycanite funny thing, This too was my first Jrpg, and it was because it was so good that after i finished it i just had to find another game like it. That is how i first discovered Final Fantasy 7 :) This game is what turned gaming form a way to kill time into an amazing hobby and made me an avid rpg fan! It may not be my absolute favorite now (its my second favorite after FF7) but it definitely was the most influential.

Mad Nimrod I'd settle with just better translation, although that's what makes this game feel genuine and somewhat classic from a guy who has played it the first time and thought it was perfection. It still is, but I could understand how the translation process back in late 1990's wasn't carefully executed under third-parties.
+Mad Nimrod Not only typos, I think I saw grammar mistakes in some dialogues too. They can be pretty distracting and confusing sometimes. Also, although the story and characters are overall nice, the execution of some scenes feels a bit rushed (but this has to do with technical limitations back then. It was too expensive or not possible to do gameplay cinematics like now). If a remake is done someday, the pacing should be improved too.
First RPG, such a huge impact in my life. I would love to go back to SNES, and PlayStation rpgs. those games and stories that were created were simply amazing.
I think the problem is that gaming markets became more competitive and Playstation 2 onwards made people get too absorbed in graphics and "newer, better" things so a lot of developers focused less on passionately working on a game and instead focused on capturing the market. There are still some games that surpass many games from SNES and Playstation 1 era (also Playstation 2 era was really good for RPGs as well), but for the most part, we got uninspiring indie creators who just make roguelikes and barebone RPGs, and big producers who make every kind of action and open world RPG, but never return to the carefully constructed stories we saw back in the 90's and early 00's.
I have played through Disc one of this game 16 times; going to finish up round 17 in a bit.. Can't get over this game... Hate that even with all this enthusiasm they still cut the project a few years back for making another Dragoon game...
Yes i agree it is sad. From what I have read, the director of LoD left the company to work on other games, when a sequel was put into production...and when he returned to Sony a few years later, the sequel was already canceled.

I remember this game when I was 6 or 7 years old it was one of my favorite game but I never did finish the game cuz I was a kid and I didn't really know how to play games but it was really fun so I went search up emulator to play the game and I understand it more now brings great memories

This wasnt a game ... seriously ... it was a once-in-a-life-time tale that could be destroyed the instant you give a go to a remake think about it if this doesnt go as well as you would like it to be what would you say then ??

The reason why it looks like that is because every Japanese letter, except for a, e, i, o, u and n are paired with a vowel. Their "letters" are like da, de, di, do, du, although di actually turns into ji, because it is based on the sound "chi". If you were to write Naruto's name, it would be in Hiragana or Kanji, which is used for Japanese words, while Dart's name is writing in Katakana, which is mostly borrowed, scientific or made-up words.

His story isn't that bad though. Dart and pals acknowledge that he is not a bad person and he gets to reform the country.
