Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad. Putting it on your fruity gingham summer dress is a party! 😂 It never ceases to amaze me just how prolific you are. So many pretty holiday projects! 😍

My favourite was the Lois dress in that beautiful fabric. The shorts and shirt looked good too and I got the feeling that you were happiest with both of these outfits too. Maybe instead of thinking “I need to loose weight to make this dress/outfit look better” you just need to reassess the designs you choose rather than change you. There is nothing wrong with your figure 😊

I sewed the Tessuti Lois dress after coming back to sewing after a long break and it drove me nuts. In particular, it doesn’t have side seams - it has darts, and one needs to sew an invisible zipper into the dart, and then there are two seams, but they have shifted then around to the back. I agree the v neck is quite low and I had to stitch it up about a cm or so. Yours turned out really well. Mine did in the end as well, but there was a bit of swearing going on at the same time. Someone mentioned Tessuti sizing. Its Australian sizing, where a UK size 12 is an Australian size 10 etc.

Thankyou so much. All patterns that I would like for my holidays. I have the Lois dress pattern and it is a style that suits me better as I am 5,9” and must make the shorts. Keep thinking about the Suguro top but am in my 70,s and don’t wish to show my waist so will make a bit longer. Thankyou so much for sharing and the inspiration to keep sewing even if it goes wrong sometimes!!!!,😂

Great blog Rachel. I LOVE the flowy Hallon dress and Lois dress. Fabrics and patterns both beautiful and look gorgeous on you. Also really like the black and white tomato dress and your co-ord. And love the style of your swimsuit! You’ve given me a kick up the bum to get sewing my holiday makes (putting them off as I don’t want to mess them up!) ☀️

Great vlog Rachel. I was very interested in the Charlie Caftan as want to make it for my holiday in the heat.I have Seasalt fabric but love your cloth edit fabric. It’s gorgeous. I love your
Bailie shorts and Arkie shirt. I was thinking of using the Carolyn pyjama pattern and adapting it slightly. I’m trying not to buy loads of new patterns as feel overwhelmed. I totally understand about dressing to hide the parts of the body you’re not totally happy with. We all want to look our best after all. Your swimsuit was absolutely lovely too, in fact all of your makes were super 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Always great inspiration, I really liked all of your makes. You looked gorgeous on holiday! I live in Northern Australia where the temperature is 35-35 degrees all year round, so I live in loose floaty dresses, and it’s either viscose or linen or cotton for the most comfort. I’ve added some patterns to my list😊.

I think the Halon dress in yellow looks great as the looseness in the bust just doesn't show much in a flowy dress and even more importantly because of the bright color. The other fabric I think is better in the shorts as you can wear colorful tops with them.

Stunning wardrobe . Particularly love the yellow dress and the swimsuit. I’d love to make some of your choices but I’ve avoided them because of the bra issue! I really admire that you just didn’t wear one. It’s so annoying that you feel you have to wear a bra even though I don’t need one for comfort . Thats interesting... All the dresses that you packed. My sister (senior sibling euro vaca) were in the algarve for 12 days in late March and basically spent the time in Capris, leggings, Capri length leggings. Good thing we hand a washer in our Airbnb. No dresses. Packed skorts and skirts but we didn't wear them, put them on but then changed before we left for our daily adventure. We hiked, biked, ate, and drank way too much cheap wine, drove the rental car from east to west. And even when up in Spain by mistake one day. Dresses... Just would not have worked. Next year I'll be pairing down the suitcase even though we're going to 5-6 weeks. Didn't wear ¾'s what I packed. It's capris that were the mainstay. In fact my sister had a pair of reversible capris (that I coveted... We're the same size) and I had a pair of reversible legging slacks things. Need to look for a pair of reversible capris for next time. Great invention. It's all about the pockets when on vaca for sure. We both used crossbody bags (mehhhhh). I found two great bumbags for next to nothing$$$ in a thrift store on my return home. Next time.... That's the bag for sure to take. Finally something useful coming back from the 90's.
    Great video

So many gorgeous makes! Honestly, I don’t know how you get so much done. The Charlie was stunning (my word, Gabrielle has the most amazing fabrics!)! It is so interesting to hear your honest opinions on each make. Really helps me out. Question: I am looking for a good shorts pattern, and I love the look of yours. However, I am also blessed with some meaty thighs, and I often find that the wider leg ones look nicer, but that they sort of ride up while I am walking. How were the Tessuti ones in that department?

The fabric godmother ones do ride up but I think it’s because the fabric catches a little, the leaf ones don’t at all because it’s a smoother fabric hope that help x
