hi when the sap has gone down and the leaf has fallen off then before the birds start nesting again i usualy cut in February when the tides are right (low water in the day!) cheers alan
I've been trying to figure out online whether the reeds have to be dried in any way before they're used? I know reeds are rather dry themselves but when bundled together I wonder if there's some moisture that could cause mold or something?
Not only a visually enjoy film but also told with wise words, youngsters need to work with traditional people like this to insure knowledge and skills are not lost..... Is you reed available for sale to Dorset? Unfortunately as you mentioned I have to source imported reed.
