    I had a Color Me Beautiful consultation back in 1996 after the birth of my first child. It was great and I have used it ever since. I was classified as a Cool Winter at the time and have stuck with this over the years. It can be difficult to find silver when everyone is going gaga for gold, but I have stuck to my guns. Even it that means waiting years to find just the right belt or handbag with silver hardware. It has paid off in the long run of me not purchasing anything orange over the years. Funny enough, I always get complements when I wear royal blue, but I don't wear this color nearly enough. Nice to see that CMB is still relevant. And yes, I had Carol Jackson's book back in the day.

    I had my colours done about 40 years ago in the “Colour Me Beautiful-Carol Jackson” method. It really opened my eyes. I don’t think your guest mentioned this, but for me it made shopping so much easier. No need to look at everything, just look at the items in your colours. I hope it works out as well for you as it did for me.

    After taking a long journey away from color I finally found my way back to color this past year. I found this awesome vintage pink shirt and wore it with red lipstick which I felt was very loud and daring but it honestly looked so good! It got me thinking about colors that would go good with my skin and someone told me about the color seasons theory, so I did a little test and found I’m somewhere in the realm of clear/light spring, which is funny because the shirt matched the pink tones really well with the clear spring palette. So now I kind of use that for inspiration when looking for colorful pieces. I don’t just dress in those colors but it is a good jumping off point

    I’ve had two color analysis done as gifts. For all intents and purposes I’m a winter. Those colors look best on me and warm tones which are so popular now do not. Right now it’s very difficult to add winter colors because everything is so warm toned. Generally where people use camel I substitute gray, but gray is even hard to find now. I would like to add color to my wardrobe but it’s like finding a needle in the haystack.

    I have light warm skin and now grey hair. I've gone from wearing gold jewellery to silver now that hair is grey. I've never understood why the classic camel coat doesn't suit me as it's a warm colour, I think it's just maybe too saturated. I tend to wear cool colours with my soft warm undertone. I think soft taupe, teal, sage green may be better than grey and blue. Any advice gratefully received.

    • @franziskani
      @franziskani 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Watch the videos of Color Analysis Studio. I very much doubt that you really have a warm skin tone (maybe you are that much used to perceiving your skin as "warm". Often one would need to see the direct comparsion with the drapes (one on top of the other, then one is pulled away quickly, that can be very revealing). Warm skin tone would mean more than the usual amount of yellow pigment (in a Caucasian, Asian, African, ... person).
      Your palette very much sounds like a summer (cool and soft).

    • @franziskani
      @franziskani 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      To make matters more complicated: the results of a colour analysis (for garments) will also determine you lipstick colour (if you are cool, you need cool lipstick colours) _but it does not necessarily apply to the hue of your foundation._
      You may have to buy foundation that is declared to be "warm" - either because it is not named correctly by the producer OR it really has a bit more of yellow/orange pigment in it. (the colour yellow / orange neutralizes blue hues - so that yellow/ orange pigment in the foundation may be necessary to even out the teint. There might be areas with a bit more blueish / grey undertones, and the complentary colour in the foundation neutralizes or minimizes that. So the skin colour looks more even, all spots the same).
      Well applied foundation only evens out the overall skin tone, and STILL lets pigmentation shine through. That pigmentation however is what determines whether you are warm (yellow hue - that is caused by yellow pigments) or blueish hues.
      Also: Getting a tan does not change your season or subgroup. It increases the contrast / intentensity a bit, so you can pull off wearing colours that would be usually out of your range or at the end of your normal range.
      The tan is a layer on top of your pigmentation (and those other pigments yellow, dark brown, rosy flesh / blood vessels, blue veins, grey undertone ... determines cool or warm type). So you might have to use a transparent ! layer of neutral-warm foundation - while wearing garments next to your face that are cool. And wearing a lipstip that is cool as well.
      For eyes it is different, sometimes people (if they have enough space on the eyelid to do something) use the complentary colours. A woman with bright blue eyes that is a cool type might use the colour orange to enhance the eye colour. Well orange is a warm colour (and it is a complementary colour to blue = it is opposite to blue on the colour wheel).

I knew I had a green undertone a true pale olive and it was hell finding anything that would look good on me I’m also a cool olive so that’s even harder. I recently got the Huda Jaguar pallet as a gift and it changed my life the cool tones made my skin look amazing my eyes just pop next I bought some mauve pink blushes and they make me look so much younger same with lipstick. I have always been against pinks since I personally love dark grunge colors but they never suited me.

    This concept has been around on & off since 4-H in 60’s. Wish fashion companies would get it. Gray, light pink, washed out colors do not work on we Northern Europeans. Where is navy, royal blue etc in our clothes choices.

    I liked the warm green on you but I understand if you liked the deep colors moore safe.
    I didn't like you soo much in light blue. The deep color on the deep color was nice, and not boring it realy pops on you.
    Do not realy like the red lipstick when you got such nice eyes it distracts from them. Your natural look is way better.
    The lightblue and red lipstick feels very forced something an 18 yearold would were, the deep on deep feels very classy, with your natural look and deep and beutifull eyes.
    Exactly clodes is tribal!

    Color analysis can be life-changing! However, after having gone through an in-person analysis, I cannot understand how a virtual analysis can work; you need to see how the colors of the drapes reflect off your skin! Also, lighting in photos or on a video chat can make your skin look 'off'. I am a winter with olive skin which can look deceptively warm (cool undertone and warm overtone) and an online analysis might have incorrectly placed me as an autumn. I strongly recommend getting an in-person analysis to get the most accurate results! I went to House of Colour, which is expanding in the US and only does in-person drapings.

      @TheBaumcm 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Same. Cool olive (I look positively green in the winter), medium skin which goes golden in the summer and masks the coolness. I was typed an autumn virtually but winter in person and the biggest issue is that my deep coloring and olive skin lend to both warm and cool tones, which is why draping is a must.

      You're so right about how a colour next to our faces can do different things in real life. And so I believe the benefits of a virtual analysis are for just that: the virtual side of colour and how it behaves in the virtual world, so for example, what you said about "lighting in photos or on a video chat can make your skin look 'off'" ... looking into that as part of a virtual analysis - it's absolutely part of understanding colour and how we want to appear in photos or on screen when videoed etc... after all, it's often all we have to go by at the end of the day or I should say, after an event - the video and photos of ourselves. And the photos and videos are often how we share ourselves these days and ask our friends or family for advice on whether something looks good on us. So establishing how it is that we are looking on screen, in photos and in videos is a very big part of how I help clients understand their best colours. Understanding the DIFFERENTIAL between what we look like in a certain colour in real life, and what we look like in that colour in a photo is a pretty big deal that I think a lot of colour consulting has ignored. For any given occasion, we could ask ourselves: do I want to look good in this colour in real life and without having to wear much makeup, or do I want to look good on screen/in photos? For the majority of humanity, these are two very different processes and outcomes.

  • @wendyduncan9084

    I wondered if a virtual consult would be as fun and accurate as an in person one. Clearly it is both. I love the trinity of considerations. If I love a color that I don’t think I look great in I either find it in socks and jammies or a piece of home decor. That way I can still love it and not look like I’m coming down with something. Thank you two for doing the collab and releasing on the weekend.

    As someone who was color typed as a cool deep within the past year (mind-blowing tbh), I have found myself moving away from two tones I previously loved: orange and gold. Can’t wait to see if you start acquiring some silver jewelry, because I know you love your gold pieces!

    We have to be without make up to do the test, the "wrong" colors will accentuate the imperfection of the skin and the "rights" will work like a make up.

    Warm bright lipsticks look best on me for sure. Based on this I started wearing bright warm colours just a couple weeks ago and they've lit up my skin completely! I tried to wear warm muted colours before, and before that deep cool colours. I was all over the colour wheel, but perhaps I've found my happy colour place :)

    I had a color analysis done. I’m not really drawn to most of the colors in the palette and find I haven’t changed my wardrobe much because of it. I liked how you explained the primary versus the secondary and how to wear them. This information is incredibly helpful. I’m definitely missing my secondary color palette. I’ve got to figure this out. Thanks again for the thorough explanation. It was so helpful.

    One of the most difficult things to do if you love gold jewelry, is to realize that you look much better in silver, and that the gold jewelry is actually taking away from your beauty instead of adding to it. I went through this about 30 years ago, embraced silver jewelry, and never looked back. I see that Christina would look fabulous in bold silver jewelry, especially when wearing black and white. My advice is to try on a pair of sterling silver hoop earrings and see the difference. Go for sterling silver, and not imitation silver...it makes a big difference because the sterling looks much more elegant. I have collected quality silver jewelry for 30 years and don't even think about gold anymore.

    I was born with carrot red hair that darkened to auburn for most of my life. So I was able to wear gold and warm colors with delight. Now my hair is a gray going white, and I am wearing the same colors without confidence. I may incorporate some silver jewelry, but I don’t know what to change about my clothing. My makeup might need a change also? Any recommendations or experiences you might share?
