Prelim regatta is match racing, not fleet racing like Jeddah and Vilanova. Don't think they fancied trying 6 AC75's on one course! Also, ETNZ will also (controversially?) race in the round robin of the challenger series. Although it won't count for anything in the way that Oracle won Cup points from winning the round robins back in Bermuda. Good chat, keep it up!
No controversy with TEAM NZ racing in the round robin series. Oracle started this trend and I think it is a good one. They need racing practice and it makes it better for the spectators to watch all the teams early. There will no doubt be a campaign of development from all the Teams and depending on how each Team performs will see each one start their performance development earlier than others as certain weaknesses appear. None of the Teams will want to give all their tricks away early. So exciting, I can't wait.
