Matt Sheahan catches up with Sailjuice’s Andy Rice who’s just back from competing in the Musto Skiff World Championships in Weymouth.
While Andy is getting ready to fly to Marseille for the start of the Olympic Regatta, Matt has been out sailing on board Kialoa II, the legendary offshore racing yacht which has won numerous offshore events over the years.
After three years of Australian domination, the San Francisco finale of SailGP threw up a new winner at the end of Season 4. Straight off the back of their victory, two of the winning team will be bidding to win an Olympic medal in the 49er skiff.
Meanwhile Ruggero Tita and Caterina Banti are bidding to win a repeat Olympic gold in the foiling Nacra 17 and no sooner have they completed their duties in Marseille but Tita will be buzzing across to Barcelona to join Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli for the Italian America’s Cup campaign.
So it’s all go at the height of the busiest season EVER!
