Tondani, I'm a teacher of English but fairly interested in South African indigenous languages. I have noted that the family structures as you explain, pertain to most of the indigenous languages (unlike English and Afrikaans where there's barely a distinction between relatives). So the concepts would be easily grasped... You are a super teacher and l wish you all the best.

Ndo livhuwa Tondani. I studied Tshivenda many years ago ndo vha ndi tshi khou shuma sa mudededzi wa tshikolo kha Ṱhohoyanḓou. I now want to get back into it na video yaṋu yo nṱuṱuwedza nzhi. Great you found the time for this in the midst of your engineering studies, which I'm sure you excelled in. The country needs multi-talented people like you.

See the similarities with the Tsonga language. ln English it's mainly aunties, uncles and cousins. Afrikaans also has only "tantes, ooms en neefs/niggies (male and female). Practice, attention and application are the most assured ways of learning any language!

I was up North (Limps) over the weekend (17 Dec 2016); to my surprise, the people that I dealt with, knew my language, i.e. from B&B to a tire-repair-shop. So I have decided to teach myself Venda, with your help ofcourse.
Brilliant videos. I give them 5 stars.
