    "Ndi do ni shonisa" is sort of almost a Zulu homophone for "ngizonishonisa." meaning I will drown you. Easy way for me to remember. 😅

    Weird thing about TshiVenda is that it sounds like it belongs north of Zimbabwe. Probably it has retained a fair degree of ancient Bantu dialects before the southern migration.

    • @judynorestgovha8321
      @judynorestgovha8321 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its actually a Shona dialect..

    • @leedza
      @leedza 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@judynorestgovha8321 far from it it's a different bantu family. The closest language in that family to Shona is Kalanga. I think belongs to the same family as XiTsonga.

      @Mudzuli Makhuvha Crazy think you can tell from my post I'm not sure myself if you read closely. 🤔

    • @leedza
      @leedza 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Mudzuli MakhuvhaNot sure myself just highlighting that Venda is not part of the Shona family and probably belongs to another group of related languages. It's a speculation based on geography rather than fact.
      However, as a Bantu languages I can broadly make out sentences in Shangani as a Shona speaker.
