    had this ball for a little over a week now and it's just amazing at my wood home center. ~18 mph, ~500 rpm, ~5 degrees tilt, ~50 degrees rotation. timeless hit and shape, but on heavier oil. transitions perfectly into the timeless for me. probably the most satisfied i've ever been with a ball purchase. 678 out of the box and multiple 650+ in only a week, and currently carrying a paltry 176 average in league (i will say i do average over 200 in tournaments at another, easier house). i think this will be the ball i get my first 700 with. so nice to be able to trust a ball to read and still carry. where the timeless would wiggle or blow past the breakpoint, this ball picks up and hooks, period, even on carrydown which i've never experienced before. i legitimately can't think of anything i don't like about it in terms of performance. it could smell a bit better... 10/10

    I just got my Storm Drive drilled today, I saw similar results sometimes leaving corner pins, but compared to my Timeless I'm standing about 10-12 boards left of Timeless on THS. Timeless is a good ball in my bag too, but I wanted something Stronger so I went with the Drive

    Best ball reviews on the internet and it’s not even close. Do you guys own/run a pro shop or something. How do you have access to all of this equipment all the time.
    Regardless, thank you. Just bought a sure lock to accompany my hyroad based of your review. 266 out of the box. Loving it so far.

    I see exactly the same things. Will be the first ball in my bag to Syracuse, but outside of sport tournaments, won't see a ton of use. Lol I'd rather see flat 10s the whole first game of team than X-X-S63-S53-8/-X-S81-X-7/-S62 . .

      Makes sense. Maybe people who see lots of downlane motion on house shots could use this effeectively but it seems more meant for tougher shots to add control. Saw Belmo throw it and it only looked like that for us consistently on the sport shot.

      rev rate not withstanding of course...other than Guy Porr, our high rev tester.

    You should get some 2 handed bowlers to test as well it would probably help more people decide whether they should buy this ball or not

    Keep up the great work. My favored review style is what you are producing and its appreciated...
    Quandary: currently in bags are the timeless with 3000 scuff, lock, crux, rg no rules original solid, torrent,and a severely lane shined VG nano, looking at drive or HR nano, which would give better look on mud puddled ths, decent rev rate and love to play the track, just gave my intense to team mate as it was to skid flip for the house... thks for any insight you might provide...

    • @TamerBowling
      @TamerBowling  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      tnjrcfl1 with everything you already have a struggle to see how you fit another aggressive surface ball in the bag. Are you saying none of those give you a controlled look on the puddle? I think the drive offers more midlane control but the nano stores more energy. In fact I remember saying how even the nano is fresh but as the cover lane shines it gets more length with more boom down lane.

    i love these reviews, helps me decide on a ball or not, but as a 2 hander i would love to see some 2 handers on here testing the gear rather than me trying to go off the crankers with the high rev rate. still love these videos

    • @TamerBowling
      @TamerBowling  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jared Wojcinski thanks. Let me just say that going off of any bowler is a matter of trying to match them up to your game to get the most information. 2-hander in and of itself is no different. You don’t need to only watch a 2-hander to get information. It could be just as off if you watch someone with more or less speed than you or more or less revs than you. For example most 2-handers don’t have the speed or rev rate of our 1-handed tester Guy Porr.

      Tamer is right. I have become a 2HA and it took me a long time to figure out what to use, let alone what kind of layout I needed. I don't know anyone personally that has my rev rate, tilt, psa, or ball speed to compare my own style and equipment needs to. Through about a year and a half of trial and error (and my pro shop guy being a former PBA tour member), we have now found a great set of equipment and a wide array of layouts for me to be able to get consistent ball motion on different types of both house and sport shot conditions. If you have a Timeless & were to drill this ball identically, simply on characteristics alone you will likely get a more arc-like path and the ball will start sooner, if you leave it as-is OOB. The Timeless is 1500 polished so it doesn't pick up until farther down the lane and the Drive is 3000 solid so it will start sooner and just kind of run longer. I am hoping the Drive will fit in between my Timeless and my IQ Tour Edition.

    • @TamerBowling
      @TamerBowling  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. I think the Drive will be stronger than the IQ Tour in the sense that the cover is way more aggressive. May be less boards depending on the bowler and condition but more ball.

    Love the reviews, when I’m bored I’ll watch old ones even on balls I’m not interested in. I’m moving from 15 lbs to16 lbs and I have a similar style to you but with slightly less revs. Looking for a strong ball and a benchmark. Right now I’m throwing a hy-road as my benchmark and am looking for something that has similar hook potential, but slightly smoother shape. Also looking for a urethane and strong ball. Any suggestions? I was thinking something like jackal ghost for heavy, daredevil danger or trick for benchmark, and hot cell for urethane. Any suggestions for other balls to look at or should I get something else and change the surface to meet my needs?

    • @TamerBowling
      @TamerBowling  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Chunuckles S jackal ghost is a good strong ball choice. Trick or hyroad nano would be smoother but stronger than hyroad. I find the trick to be smoother with a bit less backend than the hyroad nano. I love my hot cell as the urethane option. It’s always in the bag for direct spares and first ball on short sport patterns.

      it doesn't if it has the required oil, ball uses to much energy with not enough oil

      Jovan Tan funny about it go throw any Motiv ball and I guarantee you you won't have any deflect at all

    i picked up this ball last night. and its aggressive as hell. i love it. but my ball looked nothing like what im seeing here. mine was snapping into the pocket

    • @TamerBowling
      @TamerBowling  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It will depend on the pattern, lane beds, etc. I can see some house shots which have pro-anvilane where the balls are cleaner through the heads can make this ball a bit more snappy. Slower ball speed will also make balls show more snappy.

      @curtisellefsen1939 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine was like that as well, I ended hitting it with a used 500 pad and that helped tremendously to blend out the pattern more front to back and allow me to trust what was going to happen off back of the pattern. I am a two handed bowler, 400 revs, 17 mph, pap 6 1/8 over and 1/4 down

    • @curtisellefsen1939
      @curtisellefsen1939 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      When I did this the ball would still make the turn reliably and carry with the occasional corner pins which seems to be the case with this ball

  • @jysl2506
    @jysl2506 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Which ball hooks the most between Drive, Soniq, or marvel pearl? And which would be the best on houseshots? (I have 420-460 revs, medium speed)

    • @TamerBowling
      @TamerBowling  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jeremy Lee on your typical house shot, soniq will probably cover the most boards. “Best” is not an exact science but if you want a bit flippier reaction at the end of the pattern and that helps carry in your house, soniq. If the house already has lots of movement and more control helps, marvel pearl.

  • @NormanKahler
    @NormanKahler 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Since all the Storm symmetrical bowling balls use essentially the same weight block in 12lbs, if they made another ball with the R2S Nano coverstock, would it basically be the same ball as the Drive with just a different color?

    • @TamerBowling
      @TamerBowling  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      NormanKahler yes that would be correct except they don’t really tell us the exact cover stock composition. So one could be 2 parts solid and 1 part pearl and vice versa. So it is still possible to get variation but from the cover not the core.

    • @NormanKahler
      @NormanKahler 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      TamerBowling oh okay, thanks for the info. I had noticed the Hy-Road and Timeless have the same coverstock and same rg in the generic weight block for example. I've been recommended the Hy-Road and am waiting to see if the Timeless may cost less with the Drive being out now. Drive does look nice too.

    Hey, guys! I enjoy your ball review videos and have a question pertaining the Drive. I bowl on wood lanes for league. Do you feel it would be beneficial to add to my arsenal or would Drive be too much ball? I'd also like to mention that I am a power stroker with 16-18 mph ball speed.

    • @TamerBowling
      @TamerBowling  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Never say never but you have a ball with good midlane control added to earlier rolling wood lanes. Just might not seem like the ideal matchup...

    • @JayPypeVox
      @JayPypeVox 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      TamerBowling Ok, thank you for your timely response and assistance in making a purchase decision on Drive. Honestly, I had my reservations and will look at other options to get the most out of my current arsenal.

    • @TamerBowling

      Hale Evans I think the drive will need different surface, maybe polish added or it will just die with less oil. It will lose continuation or cover less boards.
