    So I was alerted to and read with interest a comment elsewhere about this build regarding the use of crush tubes inside the chassis to prevent the bolts from pulling in the chassis when being done up. I 100% agree, and this was an oversight on our part. Please do this..... At the time we didn't have the tube, it was added after the fact.
    What I don't agree with was the way this bloke delivered the insight. CONSTRUCTIVE criticism is usually best delivered RESPECTFULLY 👍

    Also should mention to run an isolator for the postive conection as well. I run a dual isolator, where it isolates both the winch and 2nd battery or just the second battery.

    cool Channel. Being in England so hard to get mods and bits you have over there. I have a 2.8 and driving it back to Ukraine soon, help more animals and pets so doing mods i need for hot summer, rather than sub zero i had in March.

    What CCA is your battrey when the winch is running? On my old one is killed it & that was 820CCA, love the video I’ll be doing the same as you thanks for showing the way to do it for us who don’t have a steel bullbar

      Hi Kayne, mate i have never tested the CCA with the winch running, maybe I should! Hopefully when using the winch and with the motor running it never fails. To be honest I have used the winch all of 3 times i think and never under extreme load. I'm glad there's a little info in there for you to get the Winch mod done, feel free to reach out if you need any other info. Good luck with it pal.

    About to do this myself, how do your stock torsion bars go with the extra weight?

    • @dodgy_garage_4x4
      @dodgy_garage_4x4  ปีที่แล้ว

      No problem, mate. Well, not that I've noticed anyway. I've upgraded the front shocks as well though.

      @@dodgy_garage_4x4 yeah I’ve upgrade the front shocks “raw 2 inch lift” just wound up stock torsion bars though.
      Hopefully goes alright. I’m still tossing up between winch compatible bull bar or the set up you’ve done.
      (Only cause I’ve just found a “cheap - $200” winch compatible bull bar)

    Hey mate, getting a winch on mine in the next few days, really helped! Also what suspension you running?

    • @dodgy_garage_4x4
      @dodgy_garage_4x4  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jamie hi, mate I've only wound up the front tortion bars and trimed the bottom bump stops. The rear are Dobinsons 2" lift and 150kg constant weight. The shocks on the rear are extended h/duty ebay specials as are the front. Feel free to hit me up on anything else for the winch install... I've got plenty of other mod vidoes coming up so stay tuned.

      Thanks buddy! Looking into a 2inch lift just trying to work out the best way round it. Thinking just GQ rear springs and new shocks all round, keep stock torsion bar. Have you a link for what eBay ones you used? And wether you rate them or not? Thanks bro!

      You can use the GQ springs but they will lift your rear around 3", you will need to get the raised rear shocks or if you get the Toyota 4 Runner rear shocks they work as well. Keep an eye on the brake lines, lifting the rear too high takes alot of the slack out of the oem lines and if you are flexing you could pull them off. You can buy extended lines off ebay but I have found that using the Lovell's springs at 2" lift they won't need to be changed out.
      Hope that info helps.
