Great vid mate! Well worth a watch
@MrBadreligionz cheers, mate.
Thanks
I don't know if it's any cheaper Down Under but a 2-5/8" wheel bearing socket, for a GM truck, with two of the ears chopped off works great for setting the bearing wheel preload.
@@ben501st cheers for the heads up.
how much lift
2" front 3" rear
The music is super annoying and way too loud
@opusdei51 cheers, but the video's free right?
Did u have to extend those bolts for the shims??
@jarrodwareham4565 no, we didn't.
@ k bcoz I lifted mine an the bolts aren't longer enough for more then 5mm of shims
An it still need another 3 mil of shims
@jarrodwareham4565 that's alot of camber
@jarrodwareham4565 the kit comes with bolts from memory
Thank you so much for that ❤..
hey mate, is that the standard GQ gearbox? what needs to be changed to get the engine to bolt up if anything?
Yep standard re4 auto and converter
Engine has a couple extra bolt holes that are not used
@@dodgy_garage_4x4 awesome! thanks man, so pretty straight forward aside from ECU then
@nightkids7163 Mechanically has been simple so far... will have to take some more videos on the weekend
@@dodgy_garage_4x4 keen on doing exactly this with my GQ, having a hell of a time finding a 48 tho lol
Just to confirm... The 6g74 takes 5 liters?
Thank you so much for sharing.
Funny enough, that’s what fixed mine, dad had the car for a while and used Penrite which is my usual choice and it’s back all of a sudden
What front shocks
eBay cheapies, wouldn't recommend them.
Hi mate, ive just replaced the bulbs in the centre bit and they worked fine. I replaced the indicators and they worked fine too. However now i have gone in and changed everything ive my battery level meter, speedo and revs have stopped working... Any ideas what might be going on here? All connections seem to be fine
@cubacrew07 Hi, I couldn't be sure of the issue. But if it was me, I'd swap the bulbs back out to the original ones just to see if it rectified the issue. If the connections are all good, then I don't understand why that's happened. For me, it sounds like you've missed something, but again, I'm drawing a long bow here without seeing it.
@@dodgy_garage_4x4 yeah I think that's what I am going to have to try first. It seems weird that the battery gauge worked when I replaced those bulbs but something since changing the ones in the main cluster has caused that, the Speedo, and the revs to stop working. I couldn't see anything amiss on the back but I'll pull it back out again today and see. Hope it's nothing too major as I'm supposed to be heading on a road trip soon!
@@dodgy_garage_4x4 so just as an update, I found a fuse that had gone and all is good now. Although the cruise control isn't working now. Any ideas what could have gone since it was working before this? Will check more fuses but unsure there is a CC fuse.
@cubacrew07 The switch is on the instument cluster, which has been taken out, would be taking a look at that first. See if something is not quite right. The plug me be seated, but the contacts are sus. Maybe spray a bit of isopropyl alcohol on the contacts to clean them up.
Will this cause premature wear on the shocks because of the extra droop?
Hi, on standard shocks I would imagine they might reach their capacity on droop. But if you're doing anything like this, even adjusting the tortion bars you'd probably want to throw in a set of 2" raised shocks for extra travel.
😎😎😮👏👏👏👏💯💯💯🫡

@@Morphic-Realms. cheers mate, I love it... taken me many places and made many memories.
I’m about to get mine done as well here . What’s your price estimate on this parts and labor? My pajero unit is in Philippines. 4 thumbs up !👍
@leetos.4915 in Oz, non OEM, $210 rotors, $135 pads, $65 bearings, $12 grease. If you're not doing it yourself, I'm not sure of the labour cost. Thanks for watching.
What's are this for?
Watch the video, mate. It'll make sense.
Any idea where we can source these for the US and not pay $100 in shipping?
Not sure mate, have you tried Amazon or eBay etc?
@@dodgy_garage_4x4 eBay is out of stock and Amazon is like $170 was thinking they would be cheaper
phat
how much in which mills did you put shims?
@samulivasankari4342 Hi, you get 4 x 10mm shims in the kit. But you need to go to a tyre place and get a wheel alignment done. They will set the correct gap.
@@dodgy_garage_4x4Does the suspension character change after installing the balljoint spacer? And is the upper arm still in good condition?
Hello, the big bulb for blue light what is it called ? the small ones are t5.
T10 for the big bulb.
Hey mate, been cruising through your channel as of late as I'm keen on buying a gen 2 pajero, theres a 2000 pajero escape with the 3.5 6G74 and a manual up for sale near me for 5k. the mileage is high at 375k but its been well maintained and is all operable, going to test drive it on the weekend. How has your experience been owning one, are they reliable cars? any main things to worry about? I'm a little worried about owning a 24 year old high mileage offroader but man I like it a lot.
Don't worry about the about the age of the car..... It's a well engineered, old school Japanese manufactured vehicle, that's built to last. And the beauty of being old school is that is doesn't have all the new age tech and electronics at risk of failure and expensive repairs. There are still parts around, driveline parts are getting a little scarce, but there are engine swap options galore for the Gen 2. The 6G74 with the DOHC is a torquey motor with plenty of power and for the most part is very reliable. Maintenance is the key to a long drivetrain life, my NK gets an oil change every 5k, and with every off road vehicle, servicing the drivetrain after water crossings and mud is a must. The Gen 2 is is a very underrated off roader, it's capable of taking you to pretty much any where you need to go with the correct mods. Enjoy you new toy, get out there and give it a crack
That looks way better than my effort! ha ha. Guess I'll try to stick some coat hangers in now! Nice tip!
Yeah easy fix, put a similar one on my hilux
Are the t5 12volts?
Yes they are 👍🏻
Im always looking at pajero content like this to see what i can learn and apply to the terracan. At the moment after 3 alignments and basically near ruined front tyres im seeing if i can get it to not wander with the canter of the road where you have to slightly pull the steering wheel to counter it (a slight annoyance at highway speeds). I swapped the pitman arm which was flogged (i spotted after 1st align) and that seemed to eliminate freeplay in the steeringwheel. Prying around with a bar (when on ground and jacked) the only thing that i could personally see were worn sway bushes. (Swapped em + links). Before i start throwing parts at it, buying control arm poly bushes + ball joints i might pay 30 for a pedders inspection and see what repport/suggestion they comeup with. Then touch wood if i can get her right i might see if its worthwhile trying to make it a bit more capable for the odd sandy island trip. Ground clearance isnt amazing, and in nsw the tallest tyre i can legally fit is 30" (but could probably fit a skinny 32"[235/85r16] without any problem). I am leaning towards the idea of a rear chinese e_locker (+hidden front winch). And a front cn elocker if that works out okay. Thanks for sharing. Cheers from shaun.
Mate, you're all over it.... well done on having a solid plan for the rig. I'm in total agreement with all you have stated. Nothing more satisfying when you give it a crack, have success, and learn stuff about yourself, your capabilities, and, of course, your truck. Thanks for your kind words and support.
Hey great video mate covered everything, you reckon it would be easier to do shims first when the control arm is free from ball joint, then watch it after shims are done ?
@@troyaus6069 you could... but it's not hard at all to do with the ball joint connected either.
Mate what a great idea.... can you do that to my Gen 2.....btw nice patch on the drawers mate....lol
Almost 2yrs on, how is everything working? I'm getting ready to do the complete upgrade on my gen2.5, thanks for these three videos!

Every good tourer needs an oven. Nice set up.

all that timber must weigh a shit ton , those slides are also hefty
Don't recon it'll be any heavier than those other metal ones. I know the Kings one weighs around 27kg
Great idea with the cable. Well done
I'll have to admit, not my idea.... One of the Dodgy crew, Nathan AKA, Cpt Risky, came up with this.
What type of oil should one use. Fully synthetic?
th-cam.com/video/941webhcXoo/w-d-xo.html
@@dodgy_garage_4x4 Thanks, I stay in Namibia where the climate is quite warm. Will it still be OK?
@ThoseFunnyAnimals23 Being that your climate is vasily different to Australia, i would try and get some local advice, mate. Will also depend on mileage.
@@dodgy_garage_4x4 Thanks, another question. The the green lights that indicates your wheel usage. Two aren't working even though the 4x4 is engaging and working fine. Could the bulbs behind just have popped? It's a 1997 model.

We went on the weekend, no snow, unfortunately 😐
Look the bull bars i want
@taukirihepi8350 It's a Bocar brand, I've never seen another like it to date though! It came on the Paj.
Hi mate! Ive got a pajero mk2 and looks like power steering oil lines, are these easy to replace? Or can use different tube? Its the ones at front of engine going to cooler..thanks
Thanks from the uk!
I think they use the banjo bolt mate. I'd stick with genuine if you can. Or alternatively have them made up by a hydraulic hose company. When you're talking, high amounts of pressure don't go cheap. I don't mind a bargain by any means, but you need to pick your parts. The last thing you need is power steering fluid spraying throughout your engine bay.
This isn’t related to this noise but my Pajero is making a weird noise it sounds like rubber squeaking from the front left hand side I’ve tried lubing it with silicone ect but won’t go away, have you had the same issue at all
The squeak usually happens when turning or going over a speed bump or slowing down
I'm not sure, mate, i do have a squeek. Its upper control arm related. Just haven't got around to replacing them.
Hey mate u reckon u went up to many splines/teeth or is that perfect ?
@troyaus6069 it's not really an exact science. It's really dependent on the condition of your tortion bars. I would think 1-3 splines is about average. Remember that the end result is really achieved winding the bar up or down at the other end. Re-indexing just gives you back more leverage when your bars are starting to relax with age.
30 years on and these comps are still dominated by Nissan Patrols, Legendary.
💪
I love this concept, i have the shocks and brackets that are screwed the drawer system. Having hard time finding the brackets that go on top of the plywood at the rear.
How do you fix problem?
