I've owned one in the 4000 size for about five years now. It's a part of one of my favorite combos that I always take with me. The drag's adjustability has a crazy wide range and is insane. I put a set of Carbontex drag washers in it, and it's a beast. It's been on countless salt water trips, and is still going strong!
Odd question: Have you found one painters brush to be better for fishing grease than the rest or does the nylon cheapo perform just like the pricey ones? I’ve always used the nylon bristle kind but they make them in many other materials.
The one I am using has been on my bench for about 4 years and I have not noticed any hair loss. It was not cheap. I am thinking $15+ because my wife asked if I was going to spend that kind of money and stick the brush in grease (I did) I got it at a craft store on an impulse to try it and it has worked ever since. It is hair and not nylon, but the brand has long since worn off of the handle
I had to check this but do you know where the word “nasci” comes from? I knew I had seen it in some of my previous theological study particularly relating to the birth of Jesus narratives in the Gospels. The word comes from France and Latin and means “to be born.” How’s that for trivia? This reel has no AR override does it? It seems to be Shimano quality though I’ve never seen this one before. Great video Dennis? PS. I should get a Fin Nor Ahab 20 and a Daiwa BG13 in the mail tomorrow. That BG completes my Vintage Daiwa black/gold BG series.

Never heard of Shimano’s Nasci until today.
*Noticed it has a 4.8/5 star rating. 1100 votes. I’m going to spin one next Cabela’s trip.

@ Very funny. Thank you for your time. It being hair and it’s longevity answered my question.
The scimatic come in original box with the reel
Yes. Unfortunately, when folks buy these reels, they toss the box and schematic
@2ndChanceTackle normally there's a shimano oiler and spool washers and the drawing
Yes - that is true. I am often asked why the washers are in the box!
@@2ndChanceTackle in America there called shim s england there called washer,s
