Etika mezi světy it happens to everyone eventually. I know that in the next battle we film I will volunteer and take the black die to "break the curse."
Thank you. This is the classic from Gladiator ;) It had me running to the rule book when the rear support Warband didn't die in the melee after a 2:1 combat result. I must be remembering previous versions of the rules that killed the supporting rear rank as well (not to be confused with the closing the door situation on both elements). Thanks for highlighting this and the recoil/flee correction in the video. Like the style and free flow of your games.
I should also add you were spot on as it states "only it [aka the attacking element] and the enemy element in front fight each other. Others only provide tactical factors". Thanks for drumming that one into my mind. ;)
Wonder what the percentage odds were of roling all those ones that is unlucky in the extreme. To quote the Emperor about one of his generals "I know he is brilliant but is he lucky". The Emperor knew the value of luck.
We have "seen it all" with as many games as we have played. The most memorable die craziness is the first time I took an army with three elephants my first SEVEN PIP rolls were all "1".
despite the quick kill, warbands don't seem to do well against blade. I fought 8 games of romans and brits, 7 - 1 to Rome. If the warband lose the first combat they seem to collapse, is that your experience ?
That is EXACTLY my experience. That is the same way I feel about knights as well. However, the big downfall of Wb is that only a +2 vs. mounted if the are overlapped just on one flank they drop to a measly +1 which is easy to double.
Hi Tony! I am not able to understand why you are following after killing the Warband unit in minute 25:25. is it mandatory? Maybe if they remains on the same position you will be able to provide combat support to the blades on its flanks? Thanks for the videos!!
In the first bound Tony moves his troops in a wood . If I see the position of his general (as a Cv ?) he is more than 4 base widths (the command range for troops in or beyond a wood)from the troops he is moving therefore its 2 pips per element move. Command distance is usually 8 base widths .....Did I see this correctly ?
Thanks for the clarification Tony (now I see "except in a sides first bound.." ). I now understand a lot more. The videos are great and I have learned a lot . We play 28 mm DBA a lot of Chariot era armies but also romans / hellenistics . We have FB group DBA North West if you want to see some of the pictures of the game s. If you are ever in Europe come and join us .......I live in a a city founded by the romans and it still has parts of the walls etc . THANKS JOHHN
Bryan Letcher the plow is only in effect if the person that takes the first bound rolls a 1 for PIPs. We choose to outright remove it to avoid confusion.
If you look at pg 25 15C you cant do the funky LOS target to the cavalry flank. Could not have shot the arty. Your blade entering would block. Looks like drawing line to 1/2 w the right corner would touch the blade. Just like the pike in the 15c example
You may not be able to see it from the camera's angle, but the LOS from the front left of the Art to the back flank of the Cv and from the front right of the Art to the forward flank of the Cv is clear of any units.
Just revisited this video from long ago and noticed it predated the Harbach Rutabagas. 😃
Thank you for sharing!
Hello! I linked my Early Imperial Romans video to this channel. Thanks for the battle reports!
I'm so sorry for Mitch... I felt the paine every time he rolled :)

@@TonyAguilarFigure-atively Did you do any better, maybe a couple of 2s?

In DBA 3.0 Blades pursue 20mm forward if opponent is foot (but not Ps.)

JOHN h in the first bound that each player has in each game units only cost ONE PIP.

It was a forgone conclusion. I have seen the movie and that Mitch had the black die.
Why is the plow removed when Tony rolls a 5 in the beginning?
Bryan Letcher the plow is only in effect if the person that takes the first bound rolls a 1 for PIPs. We choose to outright remove it to avoid confusion.
What size dudes r these
15mm. All our DBA games use 15mm figures.
