Why does the extension need the permission to access all websites I visit when it should only be limited to TH-cam..? It would've been perfect if that were not the case.
You can tell the extension which website it should be active on after installing. Reason it’s asking for access to all pages is because it works on all kinds of HTML5 video embeds. So not just kn TH-cam. But if you don’t trust it better not use it. ☺️

The extension Video Speed Controller (which I talk about in this video) has that feature. You just have to open the settings and set the default playback speed. 👍

Ok smartphones it all depends on the app and if it’s supported there. TH-cam for example allows for speed changes (on iPhone top right when playing a videos the three dots, and then the Playback Speed setting). And many other also support something like that. Hope that helps.
In the extension settings you can exclude pages on which this should be disabled. Sometimes it's also the case that websites have players which are not supported. In other cases the UI is not visible but by hitting the keyboard shortcuts you can still use the speed up modes.
I do not use Android, so I would not know. But I suspect that at least in the Android TH-cam app it already has this feature. If you can do this in Android browsers for other platforms… I don't know.
I would like to be able to lower the pitch for watching Linustechtips ;) I tend to listen to a faster tempo if I'm in a hurry or, weirdly, if I'm tired. Otherwise I prefer a normal tempo, because I'm usually listening rather than watching while driving to or from work; focusing 100% on the audio is not an option there

I know it works for Netflix if used in a Web Browser - Netflix on Amazon Fire Stick and similar, maybe it's coming but I haven't seen it work yet. I can't confirm for Hulu since I do not use it, but I would assume it works there too.
Since live streams are live, it will by definition not work since you cannot play video that hasn’t happened yet. However, it does work on replays / VODs or uploads of live streams. And sometimes it works when you reverse in the live stream and start from the beginning - of-course only until you catch up and then you’ll have to go back to real time.
In Premiere Pro, you probably know about JKL keys, where you can speed up by pressing L+L+L+L. Do you? Did you know about Shift+JKL? Press Shift+L+L, etc., until the sound is too fast for you. Pressing K+L and you can slow scrub forward and J+K for slow scrubbing in reverse.
Sir, whenever I am opening video speed controller to see live streams in 2x speed. but, there is it happening that the video is getting played much ahead like 2x but the audio comes at the real time. hence, the words don't match with the live stream occurings. You can't watch live streams in 2x since they are "LIVE" aka happening right now. Now, if you are watching a recording of a live stream, it should work the same way as with any other video. But if you keep having issues, please contact the extension developers.
You can do speed control in most video apps (TH-cam most notably). On iOS it's in the top right with the 3 dots and there it's called "Playback speed". Let's you change that setting. Sadly on websites it often does not work (unless the website implements/activates it in the video player).

@@ChrisSpiegl you can use the exstension to skip adds. Mine has a hotkey to skip forward. I have gone into the exstensions settings and changed the button to skip 1000 seconds. I now just have to press X and the ads are over.

Can you go the the preferences and go to the extensions there and see if they are installed? Or open the extensions menu?

You can also change playback speed in programs like VLC which is available for Windows / macOS and others.

I would say, just try it, the extension is free and since Edge is based on Chromium with the same extension infrastructure it should work there too.

I don't use the services you are listing; however, I do use it with Netflix. It works when using Netflix on my MacBook in Chrome or Brave Browser.

Don't know, you may want to just test it. Generally this plugin works on pretty much all HTML5 video players.
