What Is the First Hell Style Level in Geometry Dash?

i decided to figure out if there are any hell levels in geometry dash that are older than cataclysm, specifically in terms of deco; there are many 1.0-1.9 levels that are explicitly hell themed, but the decoration doesnt resemble it, the most notable examples being the hell series by sohn, which is basically just layouts
part of the process was automated with a bot that gave me a score for every level based on the colors and objects used but in reality, i still had to play thousands of levels to eventually narrow them down to these 13... was it worth it? not really lol
ill try not to make the same mistake again so hopefully i can release more videos this year

DISCLAIMER: This video is specifically about decoration, I'm aware of levels such as Heaven and Hell or Sohn's hell series but none of those really look like what you imagine when you think of the hell theme. Also, Nine Circles and Death Moon came out after Cataclysm
Anyway, the code I used can give scores from 0 to 10 to any level based on how much it thinks its likely to resemble the hell style. Reply to this comment with IDs to whatever you want me to check and I'll tell you what score it gets

its stereo madness obviously. not only is it the first level ever, after the ship part, the level takes this red (hell) theme and then the famous triple spikes.

Very cool video! Was inspired to play SJ Hell and found that the creator also made maps called "SJ The City" and "To Home" that both have some really cool theming fwiw.
I have actually played the other two as well, they're also good but sj hell has to be the best one

Yes there are levels like sohn's hell series but the decoration in them doesn't really resemble the hell theme in any way

How do you do that code? And how does it enter into the levels and chooses the red ones?
When you download a level ingame, what happens is the game client sends a request to the servers, which give you all the necessary data in the form of text that the game then interprets as a level. If you know what "command" the game uses, you can execute it outside of the game and it will still work
I wrote a node.js script that takes a bunch of ids (either a specific list that I give it or all ids in some range), downloads the levels and looks at the colors and objects used. Some objects/colors make the score lower and some make it higher

I will count Ignite as a hell level, and the only one before Cataclysm, it's possible the one of the element levels was also hell themed.

I'm honestly hesitant to share the code, partially cause it ruins the "magic" a little bit if you get what I'm saying lol, and partially cause I'm not that great at coding and while I did manage to achieve what I wanted and the algorithm itself is entirely functional, I'm sure there would be people who would look at the code, point out every detail that could've been done more efficiently and dismiss the whole video on these grounds and I don't really want that to happen 😭

Actually, after I uploaded this video, I looked the level up and found that two people already made copyables, you should be able to find them if you search the level by its name
