As someone who can't stand clutter I just couldn't do it with the clear inability to clean up the cables coming from the DAC. I'm sire they sound great, I have the 7's and 7p+ but I'll stick with my PC38x.

Mate are you sounds not majorly distorted on consoles? It sounds fine for me on pc but on the ps5/xbox it's vile. Completely unusable, the sound actually hurts your ears.
did you buy them? i'm using astro a50 (gen 2 or gen 3, not sure) and was considering switching, but I heard a lot of people hurt their ears with the ANC driver digging into them
@Silent to be brutally honest these Headphones are absolutely Incredible the fact that I can switch between my PC and PS5 with the turn of a knob is one reason why I bought these and the sound quality truly blows the doors off. The SONAR software you get to adjust your frequencies help that you don't get damage to your ears.. These headphones ticked all the boxes for me. I wanted the wireless ones but price wise these just made sense
@@prme_evl4331 oh I meant physically hurting their ears, as there was a piece of noise cancelling hardware popping out of the earcup. Apparently they are comfortable for you since you didnt notice haha. Thanks for answering!!
@Silent nope didn't notice anything popping out the ear cup. They are definitely more comfortable then my astros were. My ear lobes use to be quite sensitive after a 5hrs session but haven't had the same experience with these so far.
Pro Headset 🤘 Any luck on scoring the wireless ones? In the wired plus DAC vs wireless war for me, wireless usually wins because I like to be able to move around without fiddling with the headset just so I can get a drink or let the dogs out. PlayStation's own headset can mute from the controller. Apparently this was changed at some point recently as I ran into it last night and was confused why no one could hear me. As the controller was not original a part of that control loop for my pulse 3d or the gold.
I'm new to steelseries but steelseries released an article about how Sonar EQs will be available so you can use them for console. Is this true? It's a recent article. Within months.

For me they are better than the 7P+ (for sound) but for the wires/DAC and TV setup it's a no from me. If I can get the wireless version (but they are £350!!) they would tick every box.

As someone who has a lot of experience in headsets and headphones, I have to say the Nova Pro and Nova Pro Wireless aren’t really worth an upgrade to the previous versions Overall sound quality is definitely better on the Nova’s, but it’s not a day and night different. The previous versions also get quite a bit louder I’ve compared and extensively tested the previous versions to the Nova’s mainly for in game critical sounds like footsteps and I can honestly say that on all headsets you hear footsteps from around 32 metres away, but the previous versions get quite a bit louder, which means it can extract those frequencies better and can hear the footsteps louder at that distance Design wise yes the Nova’s look quite nice compared to the old versions, but I think most of the changes on the wired version is design changes and on the wireless version they added ANC, transparency mode and increased the battery life Overall I think if you have the previous Pro with DAC or Pro Wireless, stick with them
@@zenphy1995 Both are really good, but I would say SteelSeries Pro and DAC, because it’s louder, better frequency response consistency and those in game critical sounds come through better on the SteelSeries, but the Astro has a better balanced and smooth sounding profile The other major difference is, if you’re on console, you have to plug in the Astro to a PC to make your own custom EQ, but for the SteelSeries you have that on the DAC whenever you need it and don’t require a PC Astro is more comfortable than the SteelSeries If you’re thinking of Astro, I would say save the money and get the Astro A20 Gen 2. In my opinion, I think Astro accidentally developed a headset that’s up there with majority of £150-£200 headsets. It has 3 EQ presets saved on the headset and you can choose with a button on the headset
I wish there was a light on the mic that you could customize to see if you're muted or not... The little button on the headphones that u toggle is a bit annoying because you cant see it while you're wearing it so u cant see the orange color there when its muted, and the toggle of that button is so small that its annoying at times to feel the difference to tell if it's pushed in or not.
@@KianHardwick_ not really if you’re playing with both hands you gotta move far out and find the dongle and then click there and mute and then you don’t know if it’s muted or not later on because there’s no indicator.

Yes you can go into it on settings and click mute... but while you're playing you cant look at it and tell if you're muted or not without clicking on it... therefore its not comfortable.

Have you had any issues with yours? When we reviewed it on our channel it was flawless - now though we've been having distortion issues happening when playing games on both PC and PS5. At one point the gaming noise from the PS5 turned to 100% white noise until we reset the headset.

I personally can say using these is a big game changer not just for ps5 but for pc, I honestly wish I had these before I got my epos but if you are a ps5 or pc player and are looking for a good headset not just for gaming but even for work purposes or music a big recommendation towards these bad boys
Anyone wondering: basically any „gaming“ device like headsets etc are overpriced low range quality devices. You could get a regular headset for around 1/3 of that of the best gaming headsets and would have a better device. Both in sound, quality and comfort :) Still from known brands steelseries is probably the best out there in what they offer.

Instead of having the analog cable connected directly to the headset, is it possible to have the cable go from gamedac to the monitor and use the headset wirelessly? The Nova Pro Wireless has a rocker for game/chat audio which is really handy. Lovely review as always!
Only for Xbox*. It doesnt work for PlayStation.

If you buy a ps5 elite controller, you can mix voice/game chat via controller. I personally never touch my headsets

I don't believe you. The Xbox uses its own proprietary audio and therefore you can't really use it with both PS5 and Xbox series consoles.

If you have the headphones plugged in to the base you can't adjust audio volume. You have to be using Bluetooth to be able to adjust volume.

I have been thinking about getting but the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7X Wireless Multi-Platform Gaming & Mobile Headset
I noticed you said these are for ps5 and PC and there's a seperate version for Xbox? I think you got them mixed up with the nova 7, from researching the nova PRO work across all platforms
Are you able to load your teammates down while you play on this headsets
